Does this look healthy?

Problem 1: Seedling had just the two sprout leaves and two true leaves when I got the first problem. The leaves were yellowing. I stopped watering it so much (I think I was over-watering) and I moved the 6500k cfls further away. The cfls used to be 1/2" away, but now they are 4" away. The yellowing appears to have halted and new fresh green has grown out.

Problem 2: Although I may have stopped the yellowing I have noticed a strong curvature to the leaves. Is this normal? BTW this is my first grow.[/align]

Overview of my setup and conditions. Any questions just ask. The gnome "Gus" doesn't seem to be helping me right now, perhaps he'll lend a hand during flowering?

Ph your watering/feeding after you've added all additives, except for Ph up or down and aim for 6.5 to 6.8. Ck water/feeding, soil and runoff Ph every time until you get a handle on keeping the soil in that range. One ignores Ph to ones peril! In other words, you will not ever grow good weed and will probably kill everything you try to grow, if you ignore the Ph. Your set is basically alright, but you will need a real light before too long.

I've been adding tap water with pH of about 8.0, but not until after I adjust the pH down to 6.5 ;) .
I don't think water pH is a problem unless my pH meter is garbage. I haven't checked soil pH or runoff pH (never thought about the runoff pH)... but the local grow store here says soil pH test kits are very inaccurate and pretty useless.

I've got a real light up above. Home-made 10 bulb T5 HO setup (54 watt bulbs) with reflector and adjustment straps :cool:. I've got both 6500k and 2500k T5 bulbs to fit the fixture plus spare bulbs. I don't think the plant is big enough for it yet though. My plan was to grow a mother plant from seed, then take a few clones and keep the healthiest 6 of them and grow them to flowering and harvesting using the big light.

I think the problem may be with light intensity and/or duration. I think the leaves may be losing water faster than it can be replaced by the roots, causing the downward curling. I will end the 24 hour cycle and begin a 20hr on, 4hr off light cycle for a few days and see how it goes.... I will update with the results unless someone else has a bright idea. No pun intended.

put the temp prob next to the plant to see the real temp, do you have a fan on it, how hot is your soil, a soil test kit is better than nothing just take all the big stuff out like bark to get a good reading.

Temp probe says 94.1F at surface next to plant and 84.9F in soil 3" deep. I've got a fan sweeping the plant. I had it blowing on the plant non-stop before last night. Last night was the first 4 hours of dark the plant has gotten since I just switched to 20hrs on and 4hrs off. The curling is still there. Here is todays pic:

I watered the soil in the pot today. pH of the water was 6.4 going in. The runoff was 7.3
This may be attributed to the fact that I just repotted the seedling into a 5 gallon bucket and there is river rock lining the bottom. I did not rinse off the river rock, and this is the first time watering the plant in this container, so the reading may be skewed due to the river sludge washing off of the river rocks. I think the runoff pH will be a little more accurate after a few waterings.

As for the soil in the 5 Gallon bucket, it is a mixture I made:

60% Happy Frog Organic Potting Mix
15% Perlite
10% Building Sand
10% Worm Castings
5% Happy Frog All-Purpose 5-5-5 Pre-Mix Organic Fertilizer

I don't think the new soil is causing the curling, because the seedling was transplanted into the bucket from a fertilizer free germination soil mix and it was surrounding the roots a good deal during transplant. Also, the curling was occurring prior to transplant.

Been a minute since I did any growing of my own, but your soil mix is pretty hot for seedlings. Those pictures look more like nutrient burn to me. I generally didn't use any fertilizers at all until the plant showed signs of needing it. Once the root systems became more established, then I began to start adding more nutrients to the soil itself.

That's too hot raise the light and turn up the air cooler. Pot likes under 80 loves the 7deees...........

If you are watering that little plant until the water runs out the bottom of the pot you are over watering because it has no root system to use all that water and if the soil is to wet the roots won't grow into it.
