Nothing wrong with the Male plant

It seems newbieâ??s have been programmed that a male plant is a bad plant that needs to be tossed as soon as it shows its balls. Sure, if you do not want seeds in your weed toss them.

I keep one male so I will have seeds, I paid about $100.00 to have this strain I am going to grow and it seems stupid to keep paying $100.00 for seeds each time I grow when I can get them for free. If you have some weed you like smoking, plant some seeds and keep smoking the same bud for years. Just because it is street weed does not mean the high sucks, if you enjoy it, grow it.

I also enjoy eating the seeds, some are sweet tasting. It took me a few times to get use to the taste but now it is a delicacy to me, it only comes around once or twice a month when I buy a bag and when I grow.

However, the eating seeds as a delicacy does not quite sound as appealing.

Plus, if you;re gonna keep the male, let the guy grow and make some oil from him. Males do produce some decent oil.

Not much, but then it doesnt take much oil to do its thing either.

Ive eaten fresh seeds and they actually tasted pretty good, but if u did keep a male plant it would ruin your harvest for whatever period of time it took you to grow, then the marginal cost benefit of not buying seeds for a while doesnt seem that appealing.

It's definately worth growing a seed crop. Sure, you won't get much if any smoke out of it but so what, it's only one crop. Doing this ensures you've always got a supply of seeds, saving you lots of money in the long run. It's not just the cost which is a concern for me, it's the waiting. I hate waiting for seeds to arrive, I always think they're going to get lost or something.
And another thing, the future is never certain, for all we know seedbanks could get closed down or something which would make it really hard (impossible for some people) to obtain good seeds.

well how many grams do you loose having seeds in the buds?

As pointed out it does not have to be done every time unless you eat the seeds.

u get shitty weed just pollenize 1 plant or it sucks. and instead wasting seeds by eating em, eat hemp seeds sounds better to me

Cloning negates the need for seed. Of course, if you need to feed on different types of weed, than do the deed and plant a variety of seed.

When is a male plant ready to pollinate? 2 weeks into flowering stage or what? I think I will put a male under floro till it is ready and bring it to the ONE female.

When a female plant spends itâ??s energy on producing seeds it will have less THC content then the same female plant that is pure sinsemilla (no seeds). If you need to play pollen chucker then by all means just only pollinate a few lower buds and not the whole plant. After that you should just use clones it's quicker and you get a female every time.
