Can I switch my light cycle around?
I have recently switched to a LED light from hps due to electricity, temperature, etc. And when I had the hps running I had the lights on at night and off during the day mainly because I didnt like leaving my house with the hps running, fire risk and all. My question is since I switched to LED and really have no concern now can I switch my light cycle from lights on at night to lights on during the day? If so how do I go about it....do I just leave them in the dark throughout the night and switch the light on during the day? Will it hurt/stress my plants being in a dark cycle for 24 hours? Will it mess anything up?
And another question, I am finally starting to see pistils on my plant, how long now until I will start to see actual buds form? Thanks in advance!!!

leaving the plants for 24 hours with no light is OK as long as you are in flower or plan on going to flower. Indicas generaly take 8 weeks to finish . Sativas are more like 12 weeks. Hope that helps. BTW if you are not in flower and not planning to go to flower leaving the light off for 24 hours will interupt the growth rate for a couple of weeks. Hope this helps

sounds like they were great concentrates :)
i think MGW was saying if you shut the lights down for 24 hours you can turn them back on so they work on the cycle you want.

Have had similar light problems and internode stem length increases, because of light cycle fooling the plant, had one bunch I called Canadian football because of size, but so lite, made great bubble hash for wakarusa.

A timer problem can be solved if found quick enough, but this was timing going from day to night, most plants would react

So would it have any bad effects on my plant switching the light cycle around? I planned on leaving them in dark for about 18 hours to get on the timing cycle I want.....currently lights go off at 10am and come on at 10pm.....was gonna let lights go off at 10am as normal and let it skip the 10pm time and have them come back on at 8am......so then my new light cycle would be on from 8am till 8pm....im like a month into flowering. If its gonna have any bad effects ill just leave it be, thanks!!!

Actually you can switch the light cycle around in flowering but you pretty much have to coax the plant into changing. Besides, the time it takes for it not to affect the plant is more than the whole flowering cycle. I tried it awhile back due to Texas weather. What i did was extend the dark cycle 1hr every few days. At 16hr dark i increased the light by the 4 hrs. Let 12/12 run for a few days then did it again. I was only shooting for an 8hr shift in cycles which took four weeks. The plant continued to grow lke a monster. I did a quick switch (24 off then switch) and got hay. Now i'm thinking that a 24 off, 4 on, then +4 every 4 days may be a better option. I'll have to try it this summer.

I did this by changing the timer 1hr.advance every 2 days until you're where you want to be...no her mies plants experienced no stress...whole process takes 24 days you're good to go!!!

I should add advance timer on 1hr, later and also off 1hr. later every other day...and about when you're going to see hard buds this is all strain related...I have a strain Oracle Bud that will show white pistils after 1 week and buds hardening @4 weeks it finishes in49 days...and on the other hand my sour diesel won't show pistils til 3 weeks in and won't show bud hardening till 6 weeks but finishes @10...what strain are you growing..it's the did between Indaca and Sat Iva
