What what inexpensive 5 gallon buckets/pots are you all growing in? I've seen one person say that they drill holes into the bottom of one 5 gal bucket (for drainage) and then place that bucket into another 5 gal bucket to catch the runoff. Is this the norm? What's the best most inexpensive way for me to pot 20 plants in 5 gal buckets?
Difference between the cheapest and the best. I use the cheapest, 3 gallon plastic grow bags at about $0.35 each. I've reused some bags 3-4 times, they're rugged enough. They have plastic 5 gallon bags for about $.045. I'm running a 5 Gallon Smart Pot side by side with a 5 gallon drywall pail. Just about done, stay tuned...
The most recent pot fashion is the rooters style pot, plastic with wavy sides with slits in them to keep the roots trimmed.

I use the silver ones you can get at the hardware store. Mine are from lowes, $2.58 each

There is no way to grow 20 plants cheaply. You best have a big space 8'x10' feet minimum.Quote:

Grow bags are probably the cheapest. Just don't knock one over. Don't worry about drilling holes. Just don't over-water and they'll be fine.
I am aware of this as I already spent $1.5k so far in the last couple of weeks, but would like to cut cost where I can. I just went from having absolutely no equipment 2 weeks ago to have 2 fully stocked grow rooms/tents (Can-Filter, 600 & 1000 ballasts, duct fans, etc.). I have everything but soil, ph tester, and potting. I have the space, and by cheap I mean I would like an acceptable products that has the best/lowest price on the market...Quote:
