Day 25
Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice Nutes.
68-72 degrees.
5.5-6.0 pH flux
How long till I should flip to 12/12?
Should I be thinning fan leaves?
Had a brief power outage, and used it as a reason to transition to bloom. Decreasing light cycle by 2 hours each day to hit 12/12 on the 31st.
That will make it 1 month veg. I'm thinning some clones for houseplants and will post pics by the first.
Is there any data to look at to achieve optimal yield for time/money invested in the vegetative state?
If you can get a couple extra cycles per year, and spend most of your time in 12/12(cheaper electric bills), is there a point at which budding early makes sense? Does it differ between growing mediums, lights, nutes?
I've brought down the light cycle the last few days and it immediately changed the smell of my place. Very vegetal, but clearly herb. I was un-aware at how quickly the changing light cycles would impact the scent.
Nutrient uptake is around 50-60ppm per bucket per day. Shifting the nutrient profile to the bloom cycle replacing with 1/2bloom nutes 1/4 grow 1/4 micro. On the 1st I transfer to new buckets in cleaned de-chlorinated fully bloom nute ratio for the Jungle Juice.
Thinned fan leaves on a dozen nodes on the inner canopy for ventilation and canopy penetration.
Had an old duct fan to increase ventilation. Humidity is very low, but see no signs of wilt as my room is 68 and breezy. The roots are getting insane(Almost filling the bucket!).Attachment 289348
Accidentally pinched the air line to one of the buckets, and saw some drooping on a particular branch a few hours later. Unpinched the line, but after a couple days to checking, the affected area still hasn't recovered. I FIMed it and repositioned the buckets.Attachment 289510
The hydro solution was also very frothy for a couple days too. (No detergents used, it happened in both buckets).
Thought I'd turn off the LEDs for a second to let you guys see the color.

Any advice on thinning these girls?
These strains are really short, and have almost no stretch. I'm worried about mold later, so I'm hitting it with a ton of air.
using a 1/2/4 ratio I'm at around 1000 ppm. Going to gradually increase to 1400 over the next week and watch for nute burn(Never grown these strains before).
At around 1000ppm. The leaves on one of the plants is drooping though. Not sure what to make of that. Going to hold back on increasing nutes though.
Found the official form, thought I'd fill it out:
What is your experience level? Novice. Observed many different grows. Had success outdoor. Used 1000W HPS, and was fighting it all the time. Giving LEDs a chance now.
What type of hydro set-up are you running? DWC Grodan clones with expanded clay medium to fill.
Your Equipment:
A) Type and wattage of lights. 270W LED
B) Distance from tops? 5"
C) Reflector type? N/A
D) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? LED Chipset: 3W, Number of LED's: 80, Rated Hours: 50,000
Bands: 6 Band, Red: 630, 660nm, Blue: 425nm, Infrared: 730nm, Ultraviolet: 380nm, White: 12000k
E) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? Unsealed closet I open every day
F) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? 2 fans 24/7
G) Size of reservoir? 5 gallon buckets
H) What medium if applicable. Grodan clones with expanded clay medium to fill
Your nutrients and water:
I) If using rockwoll for clones or seedlings, did you rinse the cubes well, with properly ph'd water? 5.5 pH soak
J) Source of water. (tap or filtered) What's it's ph? Tap dechorinated via airstones 7.0
K) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. Jungle Juice. Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juiceā?¢ | If you've been using General Hydroponics Flora series fertilizers, read this NOW...
L) What is the ec/ppm of your unadjusted tap (or filtered) water? 50
M) What is the ec/ppm of your nutrient solution? Now 900
N) What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? (reservoir high and low temps) I dont have a guage for that, but my room doesn't have any heat issues.
O) Does your ec/ppm show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? About 40-50 ppm/day in week 2 of flower
P) Does the ph fluctuate? Rises .2-.5 a day
Q) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you
spray? (Just after lights come on, just before they go out...) Whenever the leaves feel dry. I have a 50ppm JJ Grow spray. About once a week depending on stress.
R) How often do you replace reservoir water/nutes? What does it look like before changes? (clear, foamy, green, brown...) Every week. Last week had very foamy reservoir.
Your growroom:
S) What size of closet, room or hut? 2.5-8 Only have to plants on one side. Will get some another light and cut the room in half depending on the success of the new LED.
T) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off? 68 with the lights on 60 off
U) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom? Nope
V) Are the roots long and white, or brown and slimy? Long and white. Used to have more hairs though in the veg cycle. I switched nutes and had a power outage, it got foamy, and the cillia?(hairs) on the roots really receded. Don't know if to attribute that to the power or the nute change.
Your strain:
W) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?) 1 Lemon Sour Diesel Kush and 1 Sour Maui Haze
X) From seeds or clones? Clones
Y) Is this an autoflower strain? no
Z) Prop 215 Compliant!
Added backup airpumps/stones to each bucket in case of motor failure(and thinking that increased bubbles could never hurt). I'm realizing that DWC is inherently risky, as loosing O2 content will start killing your plants immediately. NTM, I'm getting airpumps for $5 a piece.
Recirculating DWC has some distinct advantages in that regard, and I'm considering a modification of my system.
Attachment 289609 Day 11 of Bloom cycle. Starting to see the first signs of budding.
Day 17 - Beginning to thin some fan leaves starting from the base of the plant for increased airflow, as the canopy has become much more dense.
Attachment 289819
The canopy on the SMH is getting extremely dense, and I'm worried about crowding(mildew/rot), so I'm forced to thin the leaves.
I'm trying to prevent hermaphroditism through the stress of trimming in the flower period, by coating the cut sites with honey. An old grower told me this trick, and It worked personally when grafting different vegged clones(I had hindu skunk growing on a shiva skunk stalk).
Is the benefit of airflow worth the stress of continued pruning this late into flower(day 20)? The last post has a photo post trim of about 20 medium to large fan leaves(of the SMH only)
Is lollipopping only for the last few weeks? I don't know the flowering periods on either of these strains either, although the are both hybrid, so I assume 8-10 weeks?
This is my 10th post with no replies. Anyone have any advice?
This is my 10th post with no replies. Anyone have any advice? This is the reason this board needs a grower Mod!!!

I'm not sure that honey on cut sites prevent hermaphrodites. The problem is pretty common, where a grower puts several buckets in a small space, not realizing that the plants will grow quite big, especially in DWC. The grow in water is quicker, so chances are you'll get the growth you want faster. You'll probably end up having to terminate early if only for the reason of the large growth you'll see, provided everything goes well. Plants need their leaves for photosynthesis, so a lot of trimming isn't great, but if you have to then you have to. You want airflow through the area but two fans should be okay in a small space. Marijuana Time Lapse - 80 days in 45 seconds - YouTube
That's the truth. Things are crowded, but I think it'll be ok. But, I LSTed a little too much I think, and the canopy filled in a lot more than I was expecting. RE: Honey I had some advice from an old pro who said honey was good to reduce the stress and as an anti-microbial. I grafted a few plants successfully his way using honey to prevent infection. Maybe its just an old wives tale though.

Day 29 LEDs off.
Attachment 290051
Day 50 Attachment 290375
Buds started fattening up the last week, and had to add some support.
Starting to ramp down nutes, refilling with 5.5pH airated tap water to begin the flush.
Attachment 290574 Day 58 Harvested the Sour Maui Haze. Will update with final dry weight in 1 month. Learned a lot this grow. I like knowing where my medicine comes from. I wish you all the same.
