i have 2 BD plants the smaller one is looking to be getting better somehwat (7 1/2") the tallest (9 1/2") is just dying off completely what do i do!? looks very bad PLEASE HELP!!! no other sites ive gone to seem to help they just view.

thats probably coz all u do is put up pics? they need more info, lights, medium, nutes, temp, humidity how much u water, these all play a factor to the plants health
even how far u have the lights from the plants theres probably more but you get the idea, good luck dude she aint dead yet :thumbsup:

sorry if u took offence antwon. just a lot of people wont engage in the post as theres not really alot to work with, no accurate description of what environment you have made for your plant to grow in, they want to help with answers not questions on the set up ect, looks like a defiency of some sort, im not sure what nutes you have but if your vegging which i assume you are from bringing the plant in at night and putting her under the light then you want high nitrogen based, ionic soil grow for example and maybe the boost too. also u mentioned it was cold as hell, they don't like temperatures below 10 degrees, daytime temp 28d is spot on, night temp around 18d-20d if its too cold will stumpth there growth.
if u want to save them read the faq the top of the page, although just a plant she can be very demanding:thumbsup:

i wouldnt suggest that yet, u would be surprised how resilient they can be.. she looks like she has some fight in her yet, i havent heard of this super thrive? but taking her out the pot will just add to the stress and could make it worse, only time you should take her out is to re pot into the larger flowering pots allowing for more root space. im concerned bout the cold still, they stay at low temps they can turn hermi:wtf: also what type of light do you have for vegging at night? u say plant grow light but what are the specifics? cfl? ect u kind of need a kit to grow healthy productive plants, i would suggest getting a digi multi thermomiter, keep an eye on whats going on. get some better nutes, a soil ph tester, a water ph tester, just to double check ur nute mix and also with u "room" at night is it air tight? u need a constant flow of fresh air around the plants, theres loads more but i dont know where to find it on here??
i keep the 2 plants right next to a window so air flow is constant. it cant be to cold cuz the other plant is just fine, well way better than the other. i got some random light from home depot, philips plant light 120v agro-lite r20 50w medium base. ill be purchasing more of those tools later on. do you have any clue to the curling and burnt tips? the stems are very brittle and soft today the plant just looks all wilted i havent watered and dont plan on watering them cuz theyre still wet.Quote:

hahaha i didnt know what lights to get! ill go grab 2 new lights 600w hps, later as in tomorrow haha im thinking about just keeping them inside (gives my room a cool vibe) i water till it comes out the bottom and yeah im waiting till it gets dry. i might give it a shot of some superthrive, check it out i read its a top one to use on the veg state, once though kinda like steroids haQuote:

2 600w hps?? thats gonna be a bright room dude! and thats probably twice as much light as it needs for just those two. i would look and getting a tent kit tbh if your gonna go hps? or a cfl "stealth" grow: ie in a wardrobe or something, takes a while to convert to make the perfect habitat but sometimes thats half the fun :) i prefere tents, im lazy and everything is already where it needs to be and they handle the hps pretty well. hopefully ur next update is good news! but i cant stress enough to you to research and read and learn! u want stinking perfect nugs? u wont get that unless u do.. trust i lost 2 plants my 1st grow and that was it. research everything lol and im still learnin!
im not sure but looking from your pics it looks like she could be going into flower too? long pistols under leaf stem?? look up photo period on that link, if u put a plant outside now and left it, it would go straight to flower stage because of the amount of dark hours it gets and thing called far red and red light, to much to go into now lol but tomorrow is a good shout on sorting! peace
I agree with hty. One 600 hps will kick ass. Just make sure you have lamp at least 2 feet above the canopy of plant. you also need a fan blowing under the lamp and over the canop0y to keep radient temps at bay.
I did a quick read through. I think you said it was cold, or that was mentioned, and that medim wa salways wet. I think that maybe you are not letting your medium dry out enough before you water again.
One question: What is the ppm/EC strenght of your 10-10-10 solution you used to fertilize?

If I may chime in- first of all, in case you aren't aware, you can't just go out and buy a 600watt MH/HPS bulb and screw it in if that's what you were thinking. (I made this mistake on my first grow, it was embarrassing lol) You gotta have the correct ballast to go along with it. It's an investment WELL worth the money and if you shop around you should be able to find one for 200 or less. The bulbs alone run 20-60 dollars depending on wattage and spectrum and whatnot.
From the pics and info you describe my best guess would be that this is a lack of nutrients. i would highly recommend hitting up your local hydro store and picking up a small bottle of veg nutes and flower nutes. you wont need much for two plants. i personally use a combination of dry mycorhizzal fungi fertilizer and soul synthetics infinity (veg) and bloom (flower) and have had awesome results.
the other possibilty is a pH problem. Do you have a method of checking your waters ph? If so I would highly recommend it. The digital meters run about a bill, but you can get along just fine with a good ol' vial and ph testing solution (around 10 bucks) the reason for this is an unbalanced ph will cause nutrients to literally be locked out from the plant no matter how much you use. You may even want to be sure your ph is balanced before feeding just to make sure you're not overdoing it and causing salts from the nutes to build up in your soil.
Idk about your water source but mine personally is about 8.0 ph. Which is much too high. This means I have to adjust the ph every time I water. It's a pain in the ass but well worth it. In general for a soil grow you want to try for 6.5 ph. Lower for hydro (like 5.5)

Unless it's summer time and hot outside, I would not be taking my plants outside. Also, going back and forth stresses the plants, with the different kinds of light it's getting everyday. Further more, by picking up the pots and setting them down, shaking the plant, stresses it too.
If you are in Veg state, you need metal halide, not high pressure sodium, which the latter is for flower time. By the looks of it, it could be a pH problem which will cause a nutrient deficiency, so I agree with what previous posters have said. If you are doing 4 or less plants, a 600w is just fine by itself. You can get a light that comes with a ballast that accepts both types of bulbs. As for nutrients, again great advice from above to get a nutrient "pack." Your local nursery has lots of these and you can pick up a good quality of nutes and such. You are doing soil, so a ppm meter isn't required in my opinion, but you really should get a pH meter (digital). I hate those strips, but I am lazy. Anyways, when you add nutes to water the pH if you live near me, gets down to about 4.0. If you consistantly put 4.0 pH into soil, its going to cause problems. If you buy pH uP and get the pH to about 6.5 each time you feed, your going to have success. Hope this has helped.

with regards to vegging and what lights to use, you give the advice of not to use hps and use halide instead, i veg mine on a 400hps and flower on 600hps and have had good results.
there is no right or wrong only style and preference-
It has become increasingly more common to use HPS all the way due to the introduction of Blue enhanced hortilux lamps. I still have and use a 400w MH, but I have a smaller 250w hps I use occasionally. And; Yes The MH has the red spectrum enhanced Sunmaster lamp. The main observation as to the diffence between a MH or HPS in veg cycle is that plants stretch a bit more under HPS. Not necessarily a bad thing. Just the reaction I have witnessed.Quote:
