So here is my completely accidental grow. I threw a seed in a pot with a bunch of flower seeds. The flowers died long ago but the mj took of like a rocket. Here's my first attempt to grow pot for myself.

ANY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM IS WELCOME THIS IS MY VERY FIRST GROW SO IM VERY GREEN;) I TRANSPLANTEDAT 8 INCHES AND AGAIN AT 1 FOOT. IT VEGGED FOR 1 1/2 MONTHS THE NUTES WERE SOMETHING CALLED ELENORS VF 11. PROPERTIES ARE .85 .15 .55 I RECENTLY GAVE IT 2 WATERINGS WITH MOLASSES. I HAVE IT IN A U HAUL WARDROBE BOX WHICH IS 2 FEET WIDE, 2 FEET LONG AND 4 FEET TALL. I HAVE 2 150 WATT EQ. PLUS 4 100 WATT EQ. ALL 2700K. LIKE I SAID IM VERY NEW SO FORGIVE MY MISTAKE I CANT BELIEVE ITS ALREADY DONE ALL IT HAS.
****i meant .15 - .85 - .55 ****
ALSO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT STRAIN IT IS SO IF ANYONE HAS A CLUE LET ME KNOW WHO IS THE FATHER OF MY BASTARD CHILD. THANKS

I feel you could have got so much more from this plant with more proper lighting techniques.CFL's do not get very hot at all so you should have had those about 1-3 inches from the plant depending on the heat they give off. I was looking at the plant while it was in it's first day of flowering and they are double the size of mine in height with very little side shoots. I know some people like tall plants, but when growing indoor its usually not a favorable trait cause of space issues. Plus who doesn't love a short bushy plant? If you want to get more yield you wanna get those lights closer and do some LST to increase size and number of lower and side growth. This way you can have more plants in a smaller area,if they get too bushy start trimming them, too tall start topping them, be in control of the plant. Also invest in some better nutes I personally am loving the botanicare line I use pro grow for vegging and pro bloom and liquid karma with a little sweet mixed in all from the botanicare line. As far as cfl's go they are not ideal for growing as it is, although i use them you gotta understand that fact,if your gonna go the cfl route you gotta double maybe triple the amount of what someone using hid lighting would use, also a fan on the plant is always good, it promotes stronger stems not directly blasting at it,just so its waving a little bit. You have the green thumb growing that plant in minimal conditions you could probably do very well with the correct equipment. Hopefully you give another go at it. Good luck
I definatley agree with you 100%! I know i had big problems with stretch in the first few weeks and couldn't correct it. I do plan on giving it another go as soon as this one is done with twice or triple the lights. I didn't find out about any growing techniches until it was too late(fimming topping hst act.) I do appreciate your advice all the way, and will have new pics up soon. A question tho, can i harvest sooner than.normal since A LOT OF MY LEAVES ARE DRING OFF. And i don't see enough new growth to sustain bud growth? So the buds themselves absorbs light too to grow or just leaves? Thanks anyone and thank you Billy!
You might want to wait to harvest at least until all the trichs. are cloudy.
There's alot of discussion about when to harvest here on the board.....Maybe check it out???
BTW.....I think you did a helluva nice job.....Congrats on a successful 1st time around!..............J....
Thanks so much for looking in like i said i did this on accident(sort of i mean really who accidentally grows weed???except for the oldtimer farmer LOL great story look it up) but i never did expect this. Now IM wondering,my hometown clinic ( i live in so. Cal so there everywhere) sells clones but the employees are newer to growing than i am and basically useless. Do you think. I could put a 6-8 inch clone into flowering now so i could harvest my current plant in 3-6 weeks and have the clone going through the beginning of flowering so i could start a continuing grow(after much needed upgrades)?with proper training methods how many plants would be ideal for a 2x2 x4 box? I do love all the advice on this board but i know nothing beats hands on experience so i want to do it all right now. And i appologize to those who will tell me all i need to know is in other post, some can be very confusing and off topic(much like I've just made this) thanks again everyone
Well this is the scariest update yet. This is why IM asking what's the soonest i can harvest, as i desperately want to get this one done so i can start fresh. I must say tho the buds are looking amazing but everything else i going downhill. Any advice for me in this point of flower would be great.
Another 2 weeks might do it.
The calyx are beginning to swell.
I see signs of over-watering and those fans are toast, but fans are used for stalk growth and storage.
Stalk growth is done and them fans are empty so no worry 'bout dem.
The sugar leaf is the food engine now and will supply the energy for bud growth and resin production.
With the fan leaf gone, transpiration will drop drastically.
They will need less water, give them less, and stop feeding about now.
Let them limp across the finish line and try for at least a few amber colored capitate glands.
If you harvest when all the caps are clear, you will get a short-term, spacey head effect but there is very little medical value.
And a 2' X 2' X 4' box is inadequate for 2 decent plants and 2 seedlings.
Do yourself a favor and build a bigger box.
I can tell you've been reading, Keep it up.
Aloha,
Weezard
Now you've heard it from the man!!!
Keep your chin up....You're doin' fine..............J
depends on the high you want harvest now or in a week for a mental high, wait till the plants leaves are pretty much yellowing and the hairs are 75% brownish not white for a stuck on the couch high. And no problem dude I'm still fairly new to growing, but I just FIMed my plants and they are growing back more main stems now, so if you want to see what it would look like check my journal out soon, im going to post pics now. Happy growing!
Thanks to everyone this board has been super helpful. I have decided to shoot for October 29 for my harvest, although things can change between now and then. I have notice the buds beginning to swell which is making me very excited. Thanks again to everyone i can't say that enough, i will have at least one more update before harvest, probably along with a few questions.
yes, shoot for the full moon in Oct, the 29th would be perfect unless you want to babysit them some more, that would be fine too just like the other poster said, depends on what kind of high you want. Those yellowing leaves are supposed to happen and should even fall off by themselves, I give mine a little help and have been pulling off the yellowest ones for a couple of weeks now, gives the lower buds more light. They are only used at this stage for a little remaining nitrogen but the plant doesn't really need it to bulk up buds.
Good first job, she's a beaut!
Well here she is day 49. I have stopped with the nutes and been giving it plain water with 1/2 tsp of molasses about every 2-3 days. They seem to be swelling nicely, so much so that IM thinking of letting it go a few extra days since my hairs are still only about 30% orange. Enjoy!
Dude....You're gonna have some fun with that!!!
Lookin' forward to watchin' your next grow................J
Found this little Guy while checking it out today. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving. Since it pollinated itself, its bound to be prone to hermaphoditism right?
Good update you shared here.
Here's a few close ups sorry if they're blurry. I was planning to harvest on Monday, but IM thinking of letting them go another week or so. Any opinions on if its ready or not are great
This would make for some good discussion with the experts here?????Quote:

Did you harvest? Did you have very much amber in the trichomes, yet? I sure hope so! pr
No harvest today, the trichs are still mostly cloudy with specs of amber. My set date is now going to be Saturday the 3rd. That will be the only day i will be able to harvest within the timeframe IM shooting for. I plan to give it one last plain watering tommorow then shut off lights for roughly 36 hours starting Thursday night then harvest on Saturday. Thanks for the bump PR!
Well yesterday i got a little excited so i snipped one of the lower buds off so i can have a little taste sooner than the whole batch. I set aside the trimmings to dry and today i sampled the cuttings that were covered with crystals. I was amazed! It was clean and tasty with a very mellowing effect. I can't wait until the finished product is ready. I am shutting off lights tonight until my harvest satuday. I will have some pics up in a bit to show her last days. I must say i am having a bit of a hard time getting myself ready for what IM going to be doing, as this plant has really grown on me, much like a pet. Thankfully i have a few seeds so i can keep her memory alive. And thanks again to everyone that has given their input, it has all been great.
You gotta be excited!!!!...You might want to think about a reveg........Look up Rusty Trichrome on this board and check out his thread about reveging after harvesting a plant......I've tried it myself a couple of times with out success but if you're sorta attached to the old girl,ya might want to give it a shot!:twocents:..............................J
Well everybody, here we are on day 59 of flower. IM shutting her down for harvest. Enjoy!
Well its done! I harvested Saturday and did the trimming as well. The yield wasn't massive but it is very dense high quality bud. I decided against reveg and am going to be starting fresh soon. It looks likes it will come out to about 20-30 grams dry, which i know isn't good for one plant, but i came into this not expecting that much. I have learned a lot over the past months and plan on doing things better next time. I also got 3-4 usable seeds so i might try this strain again and try for a better yield. I currently have them hanging in my darkened grow box with indirect air flow and will be there for about 5 more days. Enjoy, i know i have!
And here's the trimming and how incredibly root bound this plant was.
:):):)...............J
Hi andy#'s...Nice harvest!!!
Enjoyed the show! Now for the glow..smoke report, after cured! Makes a big difference! If you can wait, that long! So, I asked Mr. Rusty Trichome, today about seeds from female plants, let me see, I might be able to copy the answer here, just happened to notice this and it sure seems like a good day for the answer!
I had hoped for some "current" century discussion...
This is from a post, today! The Following; copied without permission by pr of Rusty Trichomes' response's. (he is banned here). Idk why, so don't ask! pr
Re: New Project
Forcing a stable female to hermie is how femmed seeds are made. The pollen is collected from the female, and used to pollinate any other female you desire. No male genes, means no male seeds. Supposedly.
But if a plant goes hermie without effort...this means it's too quick to pull the 'genetic response' trigger. (throws-out nanners too easily)
This can be from 3 things usually...
Operator error. Prolonged stress, and the new grower...go hand-in-hand. Ph swings, over/under feeding, over/under watering, inability to control the enviornment... causes stresses that can build-up and tip the scale even in a normally stable strain.
Genetic weaklings. Chemical assaults or other stresses during seed-set, too many back-crosses to itself, a genetically weak parent or two were used to breed with, seeds not fully formed...
Lack of patience. If you rush processes...like putting 6 inch seedlings into flower, or throw every additive known to the horticulture kingdom at 'em, or use base nutreints from different comapnies...you can push 'em too hard or create toxic conditions.
