HERE IS MY FIRST GROW I NEED HELP PLEASE

hi i have 2 plants grown from seed,1 has a strong smell of skunk and the other plant has two main stems,ihave been growin in veg for about 6 weeks on 24 hour light i am using cfl 250 watt bulb cana soil in big ltr pots,thay seem to be growin realy well and quite strong i am feed the tomato liiquid ferlizer and watering them every 3 days to make sure they have dried well,i have been trimming some of the fan leafs off to incorage light to smaller nodes as i need this grow to go well. i have fim and topped both my plants for more yield i will be changin the light cycle to 12/12 in a further 2 week,my plants have already determined sex without changing the light cycle? and are both females,i spray daily with water and have the fan on everyday for good air flow if you have any questions or tips please contact me as i am new to this site and dont realy know hoe it works regard icangrowit heres a few pics >

thanks guys this is 6 weeks into veg i was wondering if they are a decent size?and when would be the best to put into 2/12 cyle because my grow space is quite varied at the moment and what nutrient should i use during the flowering stage ? i found that tomato liquid fert doees work well in veg and grow healthly plants

:thumbsup:Many plants can show sex before changing the light cycle.

You need to go read (in basic grow section) about nutes and decide what you'd like to use. Or read some grow logs in the grow area. If you see someone growing or posting, more to your style...go to their profile and look for albums or grow logs..read them.

Read over the basics section. particularly on nutes.. Using canna soil? Is that what is local for you?

I do believe, you are the first person (probably many, i've not seen), I've read of, here..that was brave enough to post you used tomato nutes. They are fine and both grow similar. But, I've read allot here and I am sure, you will, as well , in time. It'll do fine on it. Once, you learn and read more here, you'll want to experiment and use things you feel will increase your potency and yield. For now, just get the grow under your resume.

There are many threads here about 4 or 5 years ago. There was discussion of one soil company buying another, etc. and nutes...changed, etc. You need to keep current and read about your dirt and your nutes. btw, most likely, they'd grow fine without nutes...you just want to get the most out of your grow and your bud.

If on a tight budget...you can get nutes at wally's. REad all you can and look in grow logs with plants, that look like, what you want yours to look like. Most likely, that would be the line of nutes you'd select. Every grower has a personal preference. Whatever works for you, works.

Read up on flushing your plants, too. prepare yourself with lots of information here. Look at Dutch Pimp's signature, you'll find the links to about everything you need. Good lluck, even if you don't need it.

So far, as said, looking really good. For a first. Oh, and don't go on You Tube for all your information. Some of it, is absolutely, incorrect. However, makes for fun watching and learning. Just don't assume the video makes it correct or real.

You have some time for reading. Probably done allot already. Keep it up. I can see you've done much homework already. Keep posting your pictures and your grow. Post what you are using for nutes, etc. Unless you really have a problem, I doubt anyone can fix it for you.

thanks for the info painretreat yeah i have done some research on it growing before i startedmy first,i was thinking about doing a few clones of wich i will keep my grow to continue,do you think i should use a hps grow light for 12/12,iknow that these cause more heat and have to be in a bigger space and usually means that you will need a betta airflow but i have heard about a hps150 watt wich i fink might be ideal has anybody else use this light and i also want to kno abit about my double stemmed plant as this seems strange as i have never seen a pant like it

also what i dont get is when does the thc show

that's when you should have switched to flowering...IMO

alrite mate u had a look at my pics,do you think i should do it now and,do i keep them in dark for 24hrs before i change to 12/12 much appreciated

You would get a lot better outcome if you use the hps for flowering. That is if you can keep the temps in check. Your plants will double almost triple in size(strain depending) so flip when you feel ready. If you decide to stick with cfl, i would personally add a couple more for some extra lighting. They will love the extra light during flower. Be sure to feed bloom nutes during this time. Low in N and higher in P and K. Start off with about 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended dose and work your way up. I personally dont do the 24 hrs of dark before the switch but doing so will not hurt anything. So all your call man. Good luck.

Despite my sucess It's really tuff to make a strong opinion despite ur awesum looking green. I say keep doing what you've been doing & don't deviate! Stick to that schedule & listen to most folks that have reputation behind their name other than that look'n good mate!

What do you mean when ya state "when the thc shows"? IMHO be concerned with basic techniques & stick to the schedule w/o deviation. when ya flip to 12/12 just make sure there is complete uninterrupted darkness. Everything looks fine from my perspective, again only have a year under me belt so very "green" when it comes to solid advice. Again, stick to the very basics & listen to the blokes that posted in this thread & you'll be golden!

Grasshopper, you're worrying about yield/thc when ya should be more concerned with technique. In time you will understand but at this point in time just go with the flow. It will come to fruition, its all about technique, timing & patience! May be a tad out of order but relax & focus on a legit crop. Fyi it wasn't that long ago that I asked the same exact questions & was told in so man words "Ya have a LONG, LONG WAY TO GO" so relax & enjoy the ride cowboy.

The THC is formed inside the trichomes/resin(on the buds). You need a pocket microscope or loupe to see them, well.

dont think soo.. im not sure what that is lol however im going to get the flowering cfl buld and was wondering if i can use the vegatative bulb both at the same time together?also the 1 plant i got that has 2 main stems showed white pistils i had had the light on 18/6 i have now changed to 24 hours on and has grown quite a few more but i dont think it is actually flowering! has anybody got any info on this would be helpfull

was asking a totally diff ? to dutch concerning a photo/lens but its all good. so, you had the lights @ 18/6 & changed to 24/7?

yhyh thats right,i have now taken a few cutting off each plant using the rootit kit i have put a container outside and i am spraying with rain water is this ok and if anybody has any info about varing for cuttings/clones feel free to add :rastasmoke: feel free to add to this thread i will add pics later

if you cant tell the sex yet take a cutting root that cutting under 18 hour light as soon as you see roots change the light to 12 hour you should be able to tell in 7 to 14 days hope this helps
