New member looking for advice (6 weeks no smoking but not sure if clean)

Hi all. Long time lurker and first time poster. I last toked exactly 6 weeks ago. I am 6'2 and weigh 230. I would say I have a slowish to a average metabolism.

Prior to abstaining I smoked pretty heavy for about a week from the 18th of April til the 24th, had about a three week break prior to that and smoked off and on for 2-5 days at a time with breaks ranging to a week to two in between. There were some times where I smoked nonstop fora couple months but that was at least 4 or 5 months ago. I would say I am a moderate smoker, usually a few bowls a day when I am enjoying the green.

I have been doing home drug tests and still think I'm failing them. About 5 days ago I took a home dipstick test and had the faintest of faint lines, probably the infamous ghost line. This am I tested using the third void of the day and had absolutely no second line so basically a fail. Tonigt after a couple glasses of wine, a glass of juice, three glasses water and testing after a couple voids, I had the super faint line show up again.

Now the juicy part is, when I saw the ghost line I figured ok, I must be getting close right? So I started hitting the jobs and got an interview next week. So me being the cautious person I am I did the recent testing and. Ow I am worried a bit. I know that the turnaround time of interviewing and drug testing and all that could take a few weeks, so I have at least a little more time to get clean.

My question though is... Would it be likely that I'll get clean in a week or two? Or should I consider subbing or dilution? My wife has quit for a while too and has been getting faint lines for two weeks now so I could probably sub her urine with good result. Also can get quick fix locally... What would you guys reccomend?

Common sense says that I should just wait and will likely be clean soon, but i think I'm a bit of an anomaly still testing positive after 6 weeks. Just looking for some advice

Yep always a scammer out there looking to help you part with your hard earned money.
I always recommend subbing with synthetic because if done right its 100% effective in beating the piss police. Yes you can get clean but even doing that you end up with fluctuations of THC metabolite levels. If you prctice a little to keep the temp within range synthetic works every time. And plus once you find out if they do randoms and how you do randoms you can formalize a plan so that you will be prepared for them and not have to give up your unalienable right to smoke cannabis.
`Your a fairly big boy so getting clean can take at least 2 months. It would take me probably 3 months to get clean and if wanted to quit smoking. Have used QuickFix over 15 times for both premployement and randoms for DOT tests and have never failed.

Second that, Quick Fix is a good synthetic urine for substitution.

So i just did a test with tap water just to gauge kind of how the test strips represent clean testing, and believe it or not, the test line was still quite faint, not exactly as faint as mine, but pretty darn close. I went ahead and ordered a different type that I had used in the past with good result, wondering if maybe these particular test strips are a bit funky and are very faint regardless. I am going to monitor it and if I get a faint line closer to when I test, probably going to do the dillution method and cross my fingers. I can always do the quick fix method though if I am still paranoid as the testing time gets closer... Is 50 bucks an ok price for buying it at a headshop?

Is there any legal issue if for some reason the drug testing facility actually catches me with a bottle of quickfix? Or would they just fail me on the spot, tough luck, go home?

Also, lets say I do fail the drug test... I am assuming that there really will not be any backlash other than the contracting company probably not giving me anymore opportunities right? There are a lot of fish in the sea so to speak, and im sure i could get hired by someone else eventually. I guess i am not going to freak out if I do fail and lose the job opportunity, as I still have a few months of unemployment to last me until I truly get clean as a whistle.

All of the drug test strips I've tried always have a faint line for thc. Its normal and the darkness of the line doesn't mean anything. Protocol says a line is a line. If there's any question they send it of for confirmation.
$50 is way too much for QuickFix. My local shop carries it for $18.
If its just a pre employement test and they catch you cheating you'll just be failed on the spot. Have never heard of a single person ever being arrested for cheating on a drug test unless its a court ordered drug test, then its a felony. Figure out a plan that works for you and you'll never be busted unless you screw up. Subbing the first time is stressful but after the first time you know what to look out for and it becomes routine. Just all part of the game.

Arrrg... over 7 weeks now and i tested using some of the different strips I got and had the faintest of faint lines.. pretty much not there. It is like I see a tiny hue of a glimpse of a line...lol My wife has a definite discernible line, so if I can't seem to get a visible line myself before testing time (not one that i could almost say I am imagining), I will probably try to sub with her urine.

I have yet to get a call for a phone interview/personal interview, but I expect that before the end of the week. That will probably put me at testing next week, so it does give me a tad bit more time to get clean. I figure ill test again in a few days, just seeing if anything changes. In the meantime, I want to practice going through the routine of subbing.

I plan on going to Walgreen's and picking up a 3 oz travel bottle or just a travel shampoo bottle (thoroughly rinsed of course), some ace bandage or medical tape for a bit of added help securing the bottle down there, few rubber bands, and some hand warmers. Does anyone know a good hand warmer to get so I can get that magic temperature around 100 degrees? Wal-mart or Target should have something if Walgreen's/Rite Aid doesn't right?

I know I could do the dilution thing as well, but I am not as confident as that getting me a pass, as I know it doesn't always work. If I get caught subbing (which from what I can tell is VERY highly unlikely), I am not really worried about the consequences. That is just one job I will have to miss out on.

Oh also, what is the best way to check the temp for the sub? I know if you get Quickfix, they have a nifty little temperature gauge on the bottle of synthetic, but are those available to purchase by themselves anywhere? Should I just buy one of those electric thermometers that you put in your mouth and dip it in the bottle to test?

Also, pretty much sure that I will be going to Quest Diagnostics. Last time I went there they had me empty my pockets but that was it. Should be safe as long as I don't act nervous and give them any reasons to suspect right?

Yeah subbing sounds like your best bet. I've never had to use the handwarmers to keep the bottle at temp. Just got it to about 99 degrees in the microwave and then just stored it in my crotch. I've got one of the mouth thermometers just to double check the temp strips on the bottle and they work good. I would keep mine in my sock for the drug test. Have never seen the little stick on thermometers available.
If when you take the test your temp is too high when you pour it into the collection cup, blow on the urine to get the temp down. If its too low rub your thumb against your clothes for a couple seconds and then place your thumb against the temp strip on the collection cup. When it reads 98 degrees step out of the room.

You can go to your local pharmacy store and pick up those nifty little stick-on baby forehead thermometer strips. They are identical to the temp strips on the QF bottle, as well as the temp strips used on the sample cup at the collection facility. :thumbsup:

Ok so I figured I'd update y'all. It has been 57 days since I stopped and at about day 50 I was still failing home tests. Tested today and I got a faint line, but it was there. It was later in the evening so I know that's not real indicative of being clean, so I will test my first void next and see if I can produce a line then. I did not dillute, just had a few drinks throughout the day. I have some 2.5 oz energy shot bottles that seem perfect to use for substitution and have hand warmers and some bandage to add support if needed so I can still sub in a pinch.

If I am able to get a faint line with my first void or even light dillution, I should be Ok right? Or should I sub unless I get a line on the first void? Thanks folks.

Thc metabolite levels vary from day to day. Its just the normal ebb and flow of the human body. So just because you have past a test first thing in the morning one day doesn't mean your going to test negative the next morning. If you don't want to sub I would test myself a couple of times in a few consecutive mornings to see how its doing. If you're clean for few mornings you should be okay with some dillution the day of the test. You can buy the test strips off of ebal for about $1.30 each.

Ok. Here's my update for the next day. Tested after waking up and got a very faint line. It was light but it was there. So that's a faint line yesterday evening and a second earlier today. Going to test again tomorrow morning too I think and if I get another faint line I'll feel a lot better just diluting.

Sounds like you should be reasonably safe with just some light dillution the morning of the test. Be sure to pee a little before filling the collection cup. The first and last of your urine stream is always the dirtiest.

Ok further update:

First void today produced the faintest of ghost lines. It was there, but it was so faint that you would not see it unless you looked at it closely. Subsequent voids though seem to all be producing faint lines that you could at least take a picture of and still see.

I have yet to get the job offer, so i am still not sure exactly when ill be testing, so I will just have to keep monitoring.

Here are two tests from yesterday and today, first and second void. Hopefully you can see what I mean by super faint line... I have been getting these faint lines for the last two weeks. Going on like 70 days no smoking now and would like to see if anyone has any insight. I will likely be testing early to mid next week. If these are too poor quality, ill try to get another photo next time I test and hopefully it will be better, it seems that the blurry line is more noticeable 5-10 minutes after taking the test and becomes lighter as the test dries out.

Can't see any line in the pictures. Any line is all you need. Makes no difference how dark it is. Its always risky going the trying to get clean or the dillution route. Your body naturally fluctuates its metabolism every day so while you might show clean one day you may show up dirty a day or a week after. It really boils down to how bad you want this job. If its something that you really have to have then subbing is always the safest way to go.
Myself as an example I'm 6'1" 280lbs, it would take me probably 90 days to get reasonably clean and even then it would be risky for me to try dillution. I just always sub. A lot less stressful. I don't have to change my lifestyle because some nazi thinks I'm going to be smoking on the job. Once you sub once it becomes very easy after that. Just get the temp within range and your golden.

Yeah you and I have similar body types. The wife has been peeing clean for a few weeks now, so I will probably just sub using her urine. I have a couple of those knockoff 5 hour energy shot bottles (sterilized and cleaned, 2.5 oz) and tried crotching one the other day. After about 40 minutes it brought the temp up to 96.7 so I think that should be just fine for the test day. For some reason when I tried the heat pads, the temp shot waaaay up over 105 which I thought was way too hot. I think I will be fine with just using my body temp. Granted, I was using just tap water, so maybe human urine reacts a bit differently to temperatures?

I don't use heat pads for the same reason, it gets too hot. Take a digital thermometer or go to the drug store and pickup a temp strip to put on the side of the bottle to make sure you have the temp right. If you use a digital thermometer be sure to stick it in your sock, not in a pocket.
