Sick plants? What am I doing wrong? Help Please...
Ok, so I recently got these clones a couple weeks ago & it's my first grow. I noticed some tiny pests on them, so I got some AzaMax to spray to try and control them. Its been 6 days since I've done this & the leaves are starting to curl & some tips are drying out. It could be that, or just doing something else wrong... I don't know what to do. Maybe some of you could help me out? I filled out the form & have some pic links also... Thanks!:smokin:

Spider mites!
Hang a no pest strip in the tent for 4 hours.
Remove it, seal it in a zip lock.
Repeat in 2 or three days.
4 times should do it.
That's what works for me.
Depends on what kine mites.
Aloha,
Weezard

Right on Braddah Weezard!!! Noticed you're in Hawaii... I'm located on Maui:rastasmoke: I hope I can get these ladies back into shape!!!
Any brand that works best? Should I just stop using that AzaMax, or could I use both? & how high up should I hang the strip?

Can't sneak nothin' past you brah. ;)
They'll be jus' fine.
Shell
I would. Azamax soaks into da plant
You no wanna smoke dat kine.
The strips are a vapor that leave no residue.
'bout level with the crown. Start it spinning and zip up the tent.
Outdoors, you can hang a strip from da bottom of a beeg garbage can.
Invert it over da plant at night and take it off in da morning.
Though, I nevah need outdoors.
If you no use poison, there are critters that eat spidermites.
And a really healthy plant seldom gets infested in the first place.
So the best medicine is prevention, yah?
And here's a tip that will save you much grief.
Buy, or borrow some Kirkland dryer sheets.
Tear then half way through and lay them flat on the soil around the stalk.
They will repel Fungus Gnats, whitefly, and flying root aphids.
That breaks their life cycle.
No flies, no eggs,
No eggs, no larva.
No larva, no damage.
For carry-on aphids.
A one inch band of tanglefoot at the base of the stalk stops the rancher ants from bringing them.
I put masking tape around my DWC buckets for that purpose.
(When I put it on the plants, it gets in my hair, very sticky stuff!)
Then use the idle buckets as plant stands by turning them upside down and puttin potted seedlings on them.
Stop the ants, stop the aphids.
Ya know, with that few plants, you can kill the mites and their eggs by hand.
Kinda more satisfying that way. :)

Weeze

Another thing... Should I turn off (or turn down) my exhaust & circulation fan??? I was thinking of hanging the strip when it's lights out time.

Good thinkin' on both.
You are quite welcome.
Always happy to he'p. :)

Ok, so I've done the no pest strip every couple days... Seems as if it's working! I think I spotted maybe three evil black dots since the second application (I squashed them:icon506: ). Before that, I'd see some on almost every leaf I'd turn over! Thanks Weeze for the advise. But I'm still having problems with the leaves turning inwards (pic #2)... It's getting worse than that now. Could it be a circulation fan problem? I switched my tower fan out from blowing directly on the plants, to a vornado fan that's pointed up & away. Good or bad idea???

I am now a week into flower. I was hanging the strip every couple days or so this whole time, thinking I'd do it for insurance. Then I was admiring my ladies, when I came across some ugly leaves. I figure turn them over to give it a scope then.. BAM, THEY'RE BACK!!!!:chainsaw: Freaking spider mites I tell you!!! I then immediately mixed up a bottle of my AzaMax & started going crazy with it. I also am leaving that no pest strip in there for the rest of the week...
Anything else I could try, or any more tips/tricks I could do to rid my grow of these little bastards?

Are they really back, or is it a new infestation?
Same kine mites?
Different kine mites?
Predator mites?
A good magnifying glass would be quite useful here.
And, it's time to find the vector.
How are they getting in?
Got pets?
Got keikei?
Dey gettin' in somehow, or livin' in da cracks, n crevices.
Stop sprayin' and start mo' thinkin'.
Let's head 'em off at the past.
Aloha,
Weeze
PS. missed that last question 'bout the inward turning leaves.
I'd check the runoff PH. Looks like it might be high.
Sick plants? What am I doing wrong? Help Please...
My guess is that I've been "missing" them this past couple weeks. I wasn't looking at everything & I should have been.
They look the same. I'm waiting for my 60-100x scope to come in the mail so I can see exactly what they are.
If they're getting in, the only way is the passive intake (from window). I have a keiki, but don't em near my tent.
Maybe they're living in the tubing or something.
& about the runoff PH... My going in PH is always 6.4-6.5... I assume the runoff would be like 1-2 higher? What should it be at? I'm gonna water in the next day or two, so I can check then.
Thanks for everything Weeze!
