LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Hey guys and gals
So here we go again ! Grow number 2 with the Pro-Grow 260 LED light and some interesting strains I bought from the Rhino seed company; Big Bang 2, Chronic and Blue Cheese :) Yummy ! My little babies are less than 1 week old now but coming along fine. Most of my seeds were bought at feminisedseeds.co.uk
So I have decided on growing just 4 plants this time to minimise cramping the tent, maximising light dispersion and hopefully yield ! If you are wondering what will happen to the other 6 seeds in the photo above then I will say that they will be getting some sun this summer ;)
I will hopefully be blooming in week 3.5 or 4 as wish to keep the plants short, but not too short.
So here are some photos of them in peat cups under the Pro-grow 260 on just the blue spectrum for veg and 4 x 20w CFL.

Hey Silent Lep, what's your temp, and what CFL bulbs are you using? I'm glad to see you are using the LED's. What's your thought on the LED? Gives me something to look forward to. I'm a first time grower and I've got a post on this thread also using 2 UFO and 2 CFL's, but my plant is quite small for day 28. I thought I saw another post by you and your plants looked pretty good using the LED's. Good Job

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
I am using 4 x 20w 2700k. The LED is a Pro-Grow 260. I really like this LED light. I dont think I will ever use HPS or other hid systems.
I am thinking of upping the 2700k CFL in this grow but just during bloom. I was thinking of hooking up 6 x 85w, 2700k CFL during the bloom stage.
The 4 x 20w are keeping the tent at a nice 21-22 degrees or so. The 6 x 85w will increase the temps but I have my extractor always on. It wont be too bad on the plants. I think they will love it but I will need to water a little more often. But using LED and CFL means I water the 2 gallon buckets about once every 5 days or so... Watering isnt really an issue with LED & CFL.
You mentioned the size of your plant. All I can say is maybe your LED are poor quality or you are making a mistake in soil and feeding. The thing about growing weed is that there are many different things you could be going wrong on and this has an effect on the plants. for example I could have waited too long to repot and bound the roots... or the lights are perfect but the soil is very bad quality... there are so many variables. I would need all the info you could give me. Not just on nutes but even down to soil mixes, plant sizes, exact light types and research you did on them before buying, pot sizes, your set-up as in air intake/out-take, air movement, humidity, temperature, how often you water as so many over water, drainage, light heights and distance.
In my signature below you can follow my first grow and compare your week 4 to my week 4. But remember that my lights are different to yours.
Take care

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Great Info Silent Leprechaun, Being a newbie, I'm pretty sure I've made all the mistakes on this first grow. But here we go with what I did.
Built 4x4x6 Grow Room in my basement, using sheet rock walls with white enamel paint. It was what I had at the time and I read you should use flat. I'm using 2 curtains that block out light for my doors with velcro for opening/closing. The basement floor is concrete. Mixed Miracle Grow Potting soil and Miracle Grow Vermiculite 60/40 for the soil. Purchased feminized White Widow seeds online from The Altitude. My light is a 100 watt Lighthouse UFO LED from Amazon, and after germinating the seeds for a few days by soaking in water first, until it sank to the bottom, and placed in paper towels ,the root emerged. Planted in 3" Square Peat Pots with soil mixture above. After day 3 in peat pot, under the LED Light only with timer using the 18/6 schedule, and no heater, no fan, no humidity gauge, the first 2 leaves appeared, and that's the start of Vegetation Day 1 - 1.5". Also, on Day 1, I planted the peat pot into a 5 gallon approx. grow container with the same soil mixture above. Day 2-3" watered. Day 3- 3.75" watered. Day 6 - 4" watered, and added 42 watt CFL 2700K (150 watt equivalent). I can't remember exactly, but somewhere around this time I noticed these little gnats, and they hung around until recently. Day 9 - 4" Watered, added heater, Temp 82 F. Day 10 added ProsourceWorldwide Illuminator 90 watt UFO LED also. Noticed 2nd set of new leaves. Day 11 - 5" watered. Day 12 - 5" watered, 2nd set of leaves 1". Day 14 - Watered, 3rd and 4th sets of leaf growth. Day 16, increased temp to 85 F. Why?, Because of the video that I watched about using the Prosource Illuminator LED. ProSource Worldwide Guide for LED Grow Lights - YouTube, Also it was a little humid but I didn't have a measuring gauge. Day 17 4" watered Temp 80, because that 85 was kinda hard to maintain, and humidity. Day 20 added 6" desk Fan Walmart, to the top left back corner of the grow room. Immediately noticed the even warmth within the grow room and 85 was easier to maintain. Day 22 - (And the Hits just keep on coming) - After reading about LST and Topping, Yes I did. Topped between the 4th and 5th node. 5" tall. Day 25 - You are gonna love this. Well I've read that nutes are normally administered by the 3rd week roughly, so I did. Mixed 1/2 tsp of Miracle Grow (Don't forget Newbie Here) All Purpose Plant Food 24-8-16. Watered 1 Liter. Day 29 fed up with my little flying neighbors, so I transplanted into a different potting soil mix called Everygreen Potting Soil which looks like small chunks of composted bark, but drains well. Also did some reading about those gnats, and used a homemade mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide 1 part and 4 parts water. Supposedly H2O2 and Water kills gnats and promotes root growth. Watered on Day 29 Today is Day 32. No watering, but I (here we go again), did some reading whereby you can use a nail by pushing it into the soil to aerate the roots. I have another seedling planted in this Evergreen soil mixture in a 1 gallon grow container without the 3" Peat Cup. Seems like this cup holds moisture and I want to see how well this new seedling grows without the cup.
For about the first 12 days, my LED lights were approx 15 to 20 " above the plants. Now 10" and the 2 CFL's are about 3" above the plant. Well that's about all I can think of. When I look back at my notes, at what I did to this plant, I should be arrested. LOL Simply put, somebody's been a little impatient. Don't think I will ever have anymore than 2 plants growing period. As far as CO2, (here we go again, LOL) from reading it has been stated that if you have a small closed grow, simply opening the entrance will give it enough CO2. I don't have any idea if that's true, but I'm giving it a try. Here are a couple pics, the first one is after I topped, and the second one is the latest pic. Ok Leprechaun, sprinkle some gold dust on me. My thought now is to learn how not to water so much. Don't know if this plant will continue to produce, but that's ok. I have learned how to overdue everything, so maybe this next grow I won't. Future plans are to purchase a humidity gauge, and a Temp gauge. Right now I'm using the Temperature gauge on the heater. It's automatic, but I know the temp in the basement outside the Grow room is cool, even in the daytime when it's 80 degrees F outside. Thank you again Leprechaun. Also, forgot to mention Day 27 added replaced the 40 watt 150 watt equivalent, with 2 23 watts 5000K CFL's. Attachment 284123

no problem, normally when someone starts a grow journal you wouldnt post your own grow in it, its a little frowned upon here. Just some advice for the future ;)
You should probably start a grow journal yourself. It helps not only others but also yourself as you can go back and view previous grows you did.
This should prevent you from making similar mistake in different grows and also lets others give you advise on things you could do better.
Good luck with it

Thanks Silent Leprechaun, I thought it didn't look right when i posted my info. I said to myself, this is Silent Leprechaun's space. I'm confused on something. When I click on LED Logger, I'm taken to your Grow Journal page. Is this the typical way persons create Journal's, or by simply creating a Thread here in Indoor Growing kinda like I did about 10 threads down from yours?
This is where I should have posted this info.

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
I create a grow journal on cannabis.com and I also created a free wordpress blog page.
So technically I am posting it twice. Its not typical. Setting up your own blog page is kinda like having your own website in a way.
You have a lot of info in your post here. You should try breaking long entries it into paragraphs as it's easier to read that way.
You will get more responses if people can read it easily. Just a tip ;)
Take care.

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Hey Silent Leprechaun,
I need your input. I'm returning the Illuminator-90W-UFO-LED-Grow-Lights and I'm looking at the Pro-Grow 260 as well. But I've found another light that interest me, but I don't know if it compares to the Pro-Gro.
The other choice is the Solar Flare 200 watt Full Cycle
My main concern is to simply complete a grow with 30 days Veg, and 8 to 10 weeks flowering time. I haven't been able to do that with what I have, and the Pro-Source 180 watt is around 600 bucks. I know the Pro-Grow competes with the 180 watt ProSource light from your posts, but I'm wondering about this Solar Flare. I've seen some posts about it, but not as many as the Pro-Grow.
There is one other light, but I don't think it compares to the Pro-Grow and that's the Lighthouse 240 watt.
What do you think?
BTW, over the last couple of days, I've placed my plant outside, and with 85 - 90 degree temps for about 6 hours each day, it has really stretched. That really told me that I need something stronger than what i have. Nothing compares to Sunlight. LOL
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Hiya Silent Leprechaun. I have looked at your grows before and I have always had one burning question that I never got round to asking. Why do you supplement your LED light with small CFL's. Is it for a little heat? to get your temps in range?
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Yep PhatJay
That's exactly why I use the CFL, for heat. Although I am thinking of adding 4 x 85w 2700k CFL to the current grow I have, but only during bloom.
I think they will give a huge boost to the plants. My temps at the moment in the tent are just perfect at 22-23 degrees Celsius.
My extractor runs 24/7 dragging air through my Can9000 carbon filter. It's a great filter and my extractor is set on a very low speed setting.
@lamen
I can only advise you on the light that I use myself. I have never used those other lights and so can't make a recommendation.
I can only advise you through my own experience.
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Thanks Silent Leprechaun, That was an unfair question. haha I changed my mind and I'm sticking with the 90 watt Illuminator from ProSource and the Light house 100 watt UFO. Gonna order a couple of 200 watt Daylight bulbs hopefully to assist. Getting ready to post some pics of latest growth.
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
I wouldnt go for the 'daylight' CFL.
The UFO will be good enough for the veg stage, get the 'warm white' (2700k) CFL instead. That's what I would do anyway.
The 100w of 2700k will also help a little in the veg stage but will be a better work horse during the bloom stage. Better to invest in the bloom.
that's just my 2 cents on that.

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
LED Grow Log under the Pro-Grow 260, 2xBlueCheese, 1xBigBang,1xChronic! Yummy !
Hey guys and gals.
So thing are coming along just fine in the grow log. The 4 plants I will be keeping indoors with me are all looking fine. One is a little behind the others and seemed to have been damaged, but she will be fine.
The plants are in their second pots with the third pot (a bucket) coming as soon as I start to see some roots coming out the end of the pots.
I have another 11 bag seeds to go out in the outdoors and you can see 3 large seedlings and 8 or 9 smaller seedlings. They all came out of a bag of weed a friend bought.
I must say that the seeds are in great shape and the genetics seem to be good and strong. The previous grower must have bought them in a good shop.
Does anyone know if I can buy male pollen anywhere ? Would be interesting to know. I think I saved some from last year. Would be nice if I intend to do an outdoor grow, although the best are the feminised seeds. They give almost no trouble.
So here are my babies now. I'm sure you will see a big difference in the 4 indoor plants since my last post.

WOW Silent Leprechaun, These look great. What's the age of the 4 plants? Are you running CO2? And how old are the lil plants too? I'm just amazed as to how fast they grow when things are setup right. Nice plants
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Yeah dude ! You are right ! these babies are looking amazing :)
I'm not running Co2, I just have good and constant ventilation.
The reason these babies are looking so hot is because of two major factors: hardware & genetics ! :)
The LED light is a real powerhouse ! It is perfect for my 90 x 90 cm space. Its a Pro-Grow 260. And it only uses 190w ! You can even switch between the veg and bloom light spectrum.
I leave only the veg lights on for the first week, then I hit the plants with all 190w until the last 2 weeks of bloom, then I use just the bloom spectrum.
The seeds are from a reputable company, Rhino Seeds. On their web page you will find lots of companies. I got most of my seeds from feminised seeds. They have a very nice range....
The plants are just 3 weeks old in the picture. When the genetics are fantastic and the lights you are on a winner from the starting line. But dont forget abot soil, ventilation, air movement and the list of secondary, but still important factors. a chain is only as strong as its weakest link ;)
Always be sure to get only the best seeds and invest in a good light ;)
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
LED Grow Log under the Pro-Grow 260, 2xBlueCheese, 1xBigBang,1xChronic from Rhino Seeds :) ! Yummy ! And all feminised !
So just a quick update on my grow. I just re-potted the plants into 2.5 gallon buckets as the roots were quite well developed in the smaller 2 litre (0.5 gallon) pots.
I sometimes worry in case I stunt the plants growth if the roots become too pot bound. But all is good and I'm sure the plants will start to take off soon.
I'll give the plants a week to get settled in their new homes and then the fun starts again with 12/12 on the horizon :) Can't wait !
One plant started to grow a little strange, the leaves were looking very jagged. I was told that my LED light might be causing this and sometimes seedlings freak out from time to time. However, the plants only grew 2 strange sets of leaves and now it is back on track again. This didn't stunt the plant much at all. It was just a random short term freak out.
So all is well again :) I thought I might have mixed a bad soil mix or something. I feel much better now that the plants are all happy and strong :)
So I started using a mild fertiliser lately to let the plants get used to what I will be feeding them with. I always use an organic fertiliser made of seaweed and tomato.
This fertiliser served me well in my last grow so I hope it will be just as good this time. I will be using less than I did last time because I had a magnesium lock out in 2 of the plants last time.
So here are some pictures from today, I think they are now about 4 weeks since breaking the soil. I'll give them just 1 more week of veg and then the fun starts on 12/12 :)

Nice looking plants Silent Leprechaun, man, for 4 weeks you really get them to stretch out. I've never heard of seaweed and tomato. Immediately googled and found Neptune's Harvest Organic Fish and Seaweed Blend Fertilizer, 2-3-1. on amazon, but i also found something else called, Garden-Ville Sea Tea and Garrett Juice Folliar Plant Food , all on amazon. I'm looking for some kind of organic fertz. Yesterday I was looking at Jack's Classic Duo, but now you've got me interested in Seaweed. From looking at your pics, i think I'm getting close to Flowering. Great post dude.

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Hey Silent Leprechaun
How good is the Pro-Grow 180? I was looking at the 260 and ran across it. I've got a small grow so hmmm, but I wonder how much light will i lose from not going with the Pro Grow 260. My main goal is to grow a couple of plants within the 12 weeks period. 4 Veg, and 8 Flowering, but I'm not sure if the lights I have will do that. I can send one of my lights back, and get refunded and purchase either 260 or 180. But, I think I will always have that question in the back of my mind if I purchase the 180. Should I have gone with the 260? haha
After seeing your post, that really does it for me with the 260, but I was just curious if the 180 would handle small grows in a timely manner.
I've ruled out the Solar Flare because of 2 year warranty.
Also, What soil medium is inside your Peat Cups at the top of the thread?
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
The Pro-Grow 260 is perfect for my 90cm x 90cm floor space.
Be careful that you don't overcrowd your grow room. I made that mistake in my first grow and the plants spent most of their energy trying to grow over each other to get the light.
If your floor area is the same as mine don't grow more than 4 plants in there. You could grow 9 plants in my space in a SOG grow but I'm guessing you aren't doing that.
You want your plants to get plenty of light and you want the light to penetrate the canopy. You also want to plants to relax and produce buds and not compete too much with each other.
In the end you will have 4 plants happily producing bud and not leaf and stem. Think of all the energy, time and nutes being lost there !
I wouldn't get the Pro-Grow 180 if you intend to grow 8 plants under it. For 8 plants you will need the Pro-Gro 400. my friend just bought one of them for her large 1.2 x 1.2m tent.
There Pro-Grow 400 are beasts :)
Just tell me your floor area and I can give you an estimate of how many plants you can grow comfortably in there. I can then give you an idea of the size of light you will need.
I only used good quality potting soil in the peat pots. Never use anything with added nutes when growing seedlings. Keep the soil as plain as possible so you don't burn/stress them.
Take Care

Typo above, I meant to say : "The Pro-Grow 400 are beasts".
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
My grow room size is 4ft x 4ft x 6ft. But I only plan to grow no more than 4 plants in there at a time. MAX. To be honest, if I can get 2 girls to grow nicely and on schedule, then I would be satisfied with that.
From my conversations with you and stezzyd, I have learned about good soil and ventilation. And yes, you have mentioned that you can have the right light, but if you don't have the right soil medium, it won't grow like it can or should.
I'm satisified with your answer about the 260. That's the way I'm going. The only problem I will have will be waiting on the refund from the initial light to be returned, and thus then purchasing the 260. So I will be using the 1 100 watt UFO and 2 CFL's and continuing vegging until the 260 comes in. Could be another month of vegging. wow, this first grow hasn't been bad. Just learning a lot from mistakes and correcting mistakes during a grow can add time from what I've noticed. But in the end, let's hope it's all worth it.
Thanks Silent Leprechaun.
260 it is, and can't wait.
-
LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
glad I was some help. You won't be sorry with the Pro-Grow 260. It only uses 190w and the veg and bloom spectrum are switched.
I use the veg spectrum (white/blue) LED for the first week so the seedlings don't get stressed. Strangely this LED looks very much like daylight when switched in the veg mode.
After a week I blast the plants with the full 190w, both spectrum on ! In the last 2 weeks of bloom its a good idea to use just the red spectrum. I keep the CFLs running all the time.
So I switched my lights to 12/12 2 days ago and I can already see that they are all female, well, they were feminised seeds so no surprise there :)
Here are a few pics, maybe you might see those tiny pistils !! :) They are tiny right now though... You won't see them I think.
They are exactly 35 days old by now so bang on 5 weeks. They are all around a foot tall by now and about a foot wide with plenty of nodes. Lots of nodes make a nice bushy plant.

Not sure where you see a photo taken with an electron microscope ? I'm pretty sure I don't have one of them lying around :)
I do have a 400x USB microscope. I take pictures of the quality of the weed my friends get to see if it is contaminated with dangerous material such as silicon or glass.
Attachment 284730 Attachment 284731 These photos are of good weed with no harmful material.
Thanks for your interest in my LED grow logs. I'm glad they are of some use to you.
keep us posted with your grow and be sure to turn off GEO-Tagging if you use a smart phone. Some people got busted this way.
I think it is a shame when someone gets busted for growing a bit of weed for themselves. The good far outweighs the bad done to society to grow your own, for yourself, quietly.
Your light looks great, how is it cooled ? Does it have a few computer fans on the back of it or does it use a heat sink ? Heat sink means that the light runs silent but I think shortens its life.
Anyway, take care and good luck on your grow. Looking forward to seeing some nice pics ;)

Boourns Geotagging! That sucks. Good advice.
It's got a fan and a heatsink (Copper too oo-la-la). They are more expensive than the others for the most part, but I just couldn't ignore the lense tech. Too cool. Yours does have that
spectrum switch that is oh-so tantalizing. Gonna have to get a similar sized one at some point

So the little ladies are now 44 days old and are looking great. No issues with any plants.
The plants have all shown their sex now and bloom has officially begun !!
I haven't really started using the seaweed and tomato fertiliser yet, nor the bat guano. I gave them a very dilute mix over the past couple of weeks.
I will begin to make the fert mix stronger soon as bloom has just started. The Pro-Grow LED hasn't left me down so far and give amazing results... Seeing is believing here...
So for 44 days I think they are looking super healthy... 2 of the plants seem to be more indica (front) and the 2 plants behind are a little taller. They have all received the same light.
What do you think of them so far ? They are 1 x Chronic, 1 x Big Bang and 2 x Blue Cheese from the Rhino Seed Company. I think they will be big producers... They are strong growers !!

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
So here we are at day 52... patience really is a big thing when it comes to growing weed :)
The plants get a watering and a mild feeding about every 5 or 6 days. The LED light runs cool so the heat and humidity in the tent is almost the same as outside.
The plants about 1.5 feet tall now and each has an average of 15 nodes. I try to maximise the number of nodes by keeping the light as close as possible.
This keeps the plants short so the light can penetrate the canopy. and also, more nodes = more bud sites ;)
The plants have shown their female bits to me and I'm glad to say that it is a major 'lez-fest' in my grow tent... It's like a Tegan and Sarah concert ! :)
Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures. I also took a few of my LED light, the Pro-Grow 260. There are 3 possible settings, veg (White), bloom (RED) and both on together.

Looking Good Mr. Leprechaun, Looking real good. Your plants are so green and vibrant. Man, I love that light. Hate it i can't get it right now. I'm encouraged by your posts, because you have really helped me a lot. Question, I've noticed when fan leaves touch my CFL, there is a slight burn on the leaf. When you say keeping the lights as close as possible, do you ever run into that problem of a small leaf burn due to the CFL's? Looks like your plants are touching the CFL's. Just trying to figure out how close I can get with my CFL's and LED as well.

The plants are very strong growers. I can almost see the pistils forming :) Yummy !!!
Yeah, I have had quite a few CFL burns in the last grow and I have had one CFL burn in this grow.
I normally keep the bulbs 1.5 inches from the plants and I try not to keep the bulbs directly above the plants. This will prevent them growing into the bulb.
Be careful with the LED light too. If they are too close you can bleach the leaves and even the buds. But try to find a good distance. I would never leave my plants within 8 inches of the LED.
Hope this helps.
I think we will be very close on our harvests :) My plants are in week 2 of bloom. It will be a great time :)
Just planted my 10 x Mataro Blue Autoflower feminised outdoors today :) Got them from the Rhino Seed Company.
Averages 70 grams per plant and will be ready to harvest in around 10 weeks ;) nice !!

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
So here is a quick update at day 55. (12 days of Bloom)
Bloom is certainly here and my god these plants are blooming fast... They are loving my LED light !
They are powerful strains too. I think a good combination of light intensity and genetics do the trick ! The rest I can take care of :)
So I think the plants are looking great. As you can see I did a little bit of popcorn trimming at the bases of the plants. I think this is important as not only does it help in allowing the plant to focus more energy in producing buds in the higher areas of the plant, it also allows more light to penetrate through the canopy. If I hadn't trimmed the lower, weaker branches the lower leaves would soon wither due to lack of light. Now the tent is illuminated all the way down to the pots.
The plants did a little bit of stretching after trimming the bottom branches I think. Or perhaps I raised the light a little too much. I think it has stopped now. I could use some LSTing but I want to see if I can grow all 4 without much training. It's hard to train 4 plants in a 90cm x 90cm space. (3' x 3').
As bloom has started I added a heaped table spoon of bat guano to the last feeding. I didn't add the seaweed and tomato fertiliser for that feeding. I decided to let the plants have a taste of the bat guano on its own. I won't feed as often or give them as much as my last grow as I experienced a magnesium lock out towards the end of the last grow. I think my soil mixture is hot enough so I think the plants will thank me for it.

LED grow NO.2, testing the Pro-Grow 260 and Rhino Seeds.
Hey all,
So I decided to go for some low stress training today. It only took 10 minutes but it saved me over 1 foot of head space for the plants and evened out the canopy.
I felt that one or two of the plants were growing a little stronger than the others and were hogging the LED light just a little too much for the others to catch up in height.
The canopy is in good order now and I'll give the plants a couple of days to settle in before I make any more changes. The leaves and branches all need to rearrange themselves towards the light before I get a good idea of the coverage.
I noticed that the inner branches of the plants, mid way up, are all very very short bud sites. The lower branches did make a spurt to reach the canopy alright. Hmm, I think the position the plants are in right now, 90 degrees, will expose those inner branches and promote more growth. I like to see these branches stretch a little as they are good weed producing sites.
I took a few pictures of my simple method of LSTing. It's nothing new to everyone here but maybe someone might be curious.
The tools I use are, small cables ties, fishing line, a Swiss Army Knife and an electrical snips.
The ties are used about 2/3 of the way up the plant. You can usually tell where the plants will bend without breaking or allowing the node to collapse.
The Swiss army knife is used to tidy the tail off the cable tie and the snips is used to mark the cable ties by squeezing the groves so it cannot close too far and strangle the plant !
Then I just tie the fishing line to the cable tie and pull the plant down carefully to make the top horizontal. I attach the other side of the fishing line to the handle of the bucket. And thats's it.
After this is done it is time to position the plants in the tent again in such a way as to maximise the light on each plant. As I have 4 plants I turn them in a square.
Each plants tops are now over the neighbouring plants bucket, etc etc, etc...
Now the plants will begin to develop more 'tops' so to speak, and should in the end produce more of the good stuff.
I wanted to see if I could grow in my tent without training but it didn't work out. I would eventually have to do it so sooner is better than later as the nodes will become more woody soon.

Also, you have given some good info in your thread too, Rep+
