23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
Just some pics of one of my test clones at 23 days of flowering. People like to watch plants flower so thats just what I'll post here. At least weekly updates of flowering from here on out through harvest. Been meaning to do this with some other plants and I never get to it, been too focused on some new strains in veg that are preparing for flower.
Enjoy the pics, I'll try to answer any questions you might have about it.
Attachment 282759Attachment 282758Attachment 282760Attachment 282761Attachment 282762
Also I'll provide a link to a log I have going about my reveg, where this clone was taken from. There are other pics of its younger stages in veg/early flower there if you'd like to see more background on it. Enjoy.
http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-gro...oof-enjoy.html
Check back for updates as often as possible. Based on what it looks like take some guesses on its hybrid makeup as far as %s go and what not, I'd be curious on that since I don't exactly know what it is. Hopefully now that I successfully remodeled my grow spaces I'll have more time to keep up with photos of the more interesting flowering plants.

Nice pics Killfrenzi, and actually I'd appreciate it if you did post with me. Makes following your plants easier than going to another thread and I love seeing progress pics. As for the strain of the one pictured there I don't know what it is. It started as bagseed that I grew outdoors which sparked my interest in growing so now I grow strains that I know for the most part. But at the time I decided to harvest it and reveg it to make a mother out of it. The pictures posted in this thread are the first clone that I took from the revegged bagseed mother that I am flowering to test out and gain info to plan out a small SOG style grow with it, at least until I find a different strain I like better to keep as a main mother. The bagseed I got somehow turned out to be amazing and the effect works perfect with my needs for medicinal purposes so I can't complain about it. Sometimes you get lucky with that I guess. I will be posting plenty of other pics with other known strains I'm growing right now. Most of which are very early into flowering right now because I just built my new flowering room to switch from the old small cabinet I had been using.
So anyways, yeah, keep on posting updates as often as you'd like here. I'm sure everyone would love to see as many flower logs in one place as they can.
Edit: By the way I'm especially interested in the Sour Diesel. It is one of my absolute favorite strains for every different reason possible. I am really looking forward to being able to start up some of that myself, I just don't know where to get it from to find the best variety of it. I'd love to be able to get a clone from a plant I can see for myself rather than just a random, low quality pic from a seed bank. Where'd you get yours from?

Thank you all for the comments, I appreciate it. And thank you for letting me post along with you. I am looking forward to giving any advice I can as well. I am growing hydro in a recirculating drip system under 2, 600w HPS/MH. I will be harvesting in early March, then swithching to a DWC setup.
I got the clones from a local grower who stays true to only a few strains.

I wish I didn't live in such a remote area so I had some local growers in the area that I knew to share strains with. I don't live near a dispensiary or anything, so anything I want I need to order which I don't like to do. I've had bad luck with that, not with ordering seeds but other stuff. I've had my checking account/credit card stolen so I always shy away from anything I'm not 100% certain on. Still trying to indentify a seed bank that I'd like to order from. Whenever I figure that out I'll be starting sour diesel forsure. How large do you grow yours out to? I'd like to see some pics of the full plant if you don't mine taking some more.

23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
Nice pics, I don't have any plants in the really fun stage of growth right now sadly like you do =(. Just the one at the moment that I posted pictures of to begin with. Its the furthest along in flowering, the others are only about a week in. And the one I posted earlier isn't quite at that fun stage yet where the buds really start swelling up and colors start changing and you get a much better look at what the final product is going to be like. The stage mine is in now, I kinda consider it to be the generic flowering stage since it doesn't show much of its unique characteristics yet, but I do have one of every strain I'm testing out in flowering right now so in a few weeks I'll have some fun variety to look at.
Anyways, thanks for posting more pics, at first I sat there trying to think of something funny and clever to say as a joke to you about them but I just couldn't think of anything "mean" to say. You should label the pictures in the 2nd post so I can tell which strain is which. I meant to ask you before but I forgot... you said you grow under two 600W HPS/MH systems... are those each dual bulb systems where you use both MH and HPS throughout the entire grow? Or at least during floweing you keep the MH light going? Also how do yours function.. meaning, do they use 1 600W HPS and 1 600MH in the same unit? Or are they 300W of each making a total of 600W's. Or am I just wrong all around the board here? haha
Last request is... if you could take some extra bonus pics of the sour diesel for me.. I'd appreciate it. All kinds of angles and what not lol. Full plant and close ups and such. I am curious to see the shape in which it grew at, and if you did any topping or LSTing or any training methods at all? Oh and yeah feel free to donate that sour diesel harvest to me, I won't get too upset about having to hold onto all of it for you. Perhaps a box full of clones too, and a few winning lottery tickets. If you could do those... small favors for me, I think we might be great friends someday! haha

Lol.. you're crazy...! If I had winning lotto tickets I'd be on Cloud 9.
As for the plant its self, It was a clone so I didnt have to do any topping or LST. It was pretty puny to start with. It has 4 main tops. 2 being jus a lil taller. If i had read this post befor the pics Id'a taken more of the "D"
And to help you understand the lights, I have 2, 600w Mh/Hps Ballasts. Meaning the ballast is switchable between Mh and HPS. I can change bulbs w/ out having to use a different ballast. Just take the HPS out and put in the Mh. In flowering I switch bulbs weekly. Ill take out 1 HPS and switch it for the Mh. Always having an HPS in 1 ballast. Oh and if you are wondering what type of ballast? They are Electronic, meaning the ballast detects what type of Gas is being fired inside the bulb and provides the correct firing arc.

Lookin good, I was just wondering about the lights because I see some people using the dual ballasts that run both types of lights, rather than switching, and I wonder how people like that. The next round I put into flowering I am going to try out adding a MH to the flowering cycle to see if it reduces stretching, or the distance between nodes that is created during the earlier flowering stages. Or I guess if there happens to be other improvements on quality that happen from the added blue spectrum lighting.
If I understand you correctly.. are you saying that one week you'll run two HPS, next week run one HPS and one MH, then the next week back to all HPS? Or do you just flip flop the MH and HPS between the two lamps for some other reason?
-
23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
I run MH for the first two weeks of 12/12 to reduce stretch and then switch to HPS. I also have a SG 602 LED running with my 1000 watt. I get 2 lbs from a 7 by 7 room.
-
23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
Interesting, that was the goal behind me wanting to experiment with adding the MH to the flower room, reduce the stretch. I start different plants at different times so I planned to keep the MH in with the HPS the entire time, same amount of HPS, would just be added MH light. Did you notice much of a difference when you started doing that? Or have you always flowered this way? I'll post some new pics tonight hopefully or tomorrow afternoon. Gotta finish chopping down and throwing away a couple plants first...

Oh by the way Killfrenzi... our messages kinda got me thinking... and I bought a couple scratch off tickets at the gas station yesterday. I spent $6, and I won $7 on one of the tickets. Now I lost the damn $7 ticket, haha, let that be a lesson to you. Not sure what the lesson is.. you can figure that out. All I know is that I'm pissed, I don't buy lotto tickets, and now I did and won a dollar, and then it magically disappears on me. At least it wasn't a $200,000,000 ticket or something.

LOL... thats shitty. I never buy lotto tickets either. It seems like I spend $20 only to win $5, losing $15. And the new powerball rules suck. They make it almost impossible to win the Jackpot. And ya, thats a good thing it wasnt the winnig lotto numbers! lol.. That woulda sucked.. Lesson learned. Never buy lotto! Lol..
Oh and your ? about the light. I think I started using the MH too late in this cycle to notcie any difference. Its the first time Ive had 2 ballsats to do it with.. Lol Ill see when my 6 lil babies go in flower in a few more weeks.

I'll be adding a MH in this weekend, along with a few new plants that are ready to start flowering, so I'll keep you posted how those compare to ones without the MH in flowering. I'll be using clones from strains that are already in flower now, so it should be easy to see a difference if there is one. I log photos of each plant every few days, so I can post some comparison pics. It'll be a few weeks I suppose before anything could really be seen though.

ive done many case studie reverts and found they produce 25% less yield and the time it req is not worth it so always clone any introduction to grow and number it, indoor or out, one studie took Purple Nepal (exotics) and from harvest flower, took out side in April planted in ground next to a non reverted clone and not only was the non revert faster more vigorous it produced its normal weight in/out. But, however if, could keep the inter-nodal spacing when when you clone after trigger, right after (flower shows sex) , i would do it that way but again if in situation but again case studie 25% less weight compared to mom cutting again.

23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
I think you misunderstood what I mean, or I guess I didn't explain it clearly enough. I mean I'm using clones that were taken from plants back in veg state, and the clones have been growing for a while now while the original mothers of the clones were moved into flower. So the clones I have I always take before I start flowering, I just meant that the originals were in flower without a MH and I'll soon have clones of those ready to try out with an added MH light in the room.

I'd say I'm happy with how this trial run is going for this strain. Good bud spacing and plenty of bud sites. Not too many leaves to cast shadows, so everywhere has good light penetration. The only thing I'd really like to have changed about it is to shorten the main top to make it a little more even with the rest of them. I guess I let that slip my mind during veg but oh well. If thats the only thing that slipped my mind then I'm doing pretty well cuz I tend to be forgetful haha.
Lemme know what you think of that thing.

I'll take some new ones now as well, had a little bit of heat stress on the top because again I was procrastinating in hooking up my venting system since I built this flowering room, but not too bad. I have another clone from the same mother that is a few weeks behind that first one, so I'll take some comparison pics of those its kinda interesting to see how much it changes in a short time.

Its great that I can just tell that the second one is sour diesel even without your label. Maybe its just because I like that strain, or maybe this is one of the reasons that I like it anyways, but I can always spot diesels easily out of a forest haha. I think its because of how large the calyxes get when they start to swell up. Speaking of large, it looks like you've got a pretty large room to work with, are you limited by the number of plants you can grow or do you plan to fill it up in there more? Maybe its just the picture making it look like theres a lot of space in there, idk, long as you don't start to overcrowd it. I would hate not having good access to all my plants all the time.
Looks like you've got some nute burn going on? Or how far along are these girls now? Maybe its just age. I've had a few plants lately that have had some nute issues both deficiencies and over feeding certain nutes since I'm trying to balance out the ph difference of happy frog and tiger bloom and what not. Should have those problems solved now, all the sickly ones are recovering fine.
I'm actually in the middle of my "photo shoot" right now haha, just taking pictures of 4 different ones that are all in different stages of flowering, but they're all from the same room. I'll get those pics posted here shortly.

Whats up.. Well the room is 10'x6'x7'. I have 13 plants in there now and its seems crowded. Not to mention I only have 2, 600w HID lamps. More plants need more light. Actually after I harvest Ill be goin down to 6 Flower and 6 veg. 12 is more than I can manage in an area that small. I have this tent you see built inside a room in my basement. I was going to convert the entire room once I have the means to do so.
The plants dont have nute burn, They are in their final week of flower and they havent had Nitrogen in about 3 weeks. For the last 2-3 weeks I have been using FoxFarm BeastieBloomz, Which has an NPK of 0-50-30. The label says: If using as a stand alone 1 tsp per gal, if combined with other nutes, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per gal. The ladies are just about ready. The calyxes are about 3.5" in diameter. The D has the largest calyxes, then the Sour Willy, then it goes Herijuanna and Purple Haze. I have several other strains but before I had them they were very poorly taken care of. Im surprised Ive been able to keep em alive.
The 6 clones I took are from the ladies in flower now. I have Agent Orange, Sour D, Sour Willy, Sour Cream, White Siberian, and Bruce Banner. I have 2 mothers that Ill be taking clones from after the 6 clones I have now, go into flower. My 2 mothers are: "Critical Purple Haze" and "Void"
Ill be posting pics of the Clones in a few. I figure people would like to see how well people can clone. Ive seen some horrible clones. Lol...

Nice pics killfrenzi, sorry I misunderstood your grow room a bit, it just looked like you had tons of extra space in the picture. Had no idea that you had 13 plants in there haha. I have 19 plants but I guess I only really take pictures of the ones I'm experimenting with unless they decide to start looking amazing then I'll probably take some more pics as long as I don't get too lazy haha. Thats a little problem I have is digging plants out from the back of my other room, getting to them is fine to tend to them, but to pull them out of the room is difficult to take pics. Anyways, congratz on being in the final week of flowering, I don't have anything that close to finished =(. Changing rooms around really hurt my cycle.
Have you noticed if the beastie bloom has done much? I've never used that actually, but I planned on using it for the plants that I pictured above. I have a similar mix for late blooming but I'd much prefer a FF product because of the micronutes and what not.
-
23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
I noticed a HUGE difference. Ive never used it before and this time I noticed the buds swell up sooner, faster and they are rock solid. It does say to use in the final weeks of flower because it has 0 Nitrogen. I was going to try "Gravity" by Humboldts Own on my next cycle. FoxFarm makes an awesome product. I think I might try their ChaChing and OpenSesame in conjunction with the BeastieBloomz. My clones are using "The Recipe for Success" by Technaflora. I cant believe the way these lil ladies look. Each of the plants have 5 to 8 main tops. They're about 13" tall and should be ready shortly after I harvest.. Yay!!
-

Nice, I think I'll start using beastie bloom then once I get closer to that time. The lack of nitrogen in late flowering plants can make for some interesting shades of colors and what not in your finished buds.

Ya, Ive noticed when I deplete nitrogen during the last 3 weeks of flower causes them to turn more of a lime green color. I have some bud curing now that didnt get the beastie bloomz and its a much darker green. My purple haze is still purple though :)

Thats cool, I prefer a more lime green color haha. The plants you've been seeing pictures of are very dark in the leaves compared to some others. They almost look purplish or dark glossy blue/green, idk. The finished bud product is pretty lime green in color, and with minor temp changes develops some good purple in it. I suppose we'll see how it ends up now indoors, I've only grown this one outdoors, this will be my first live indoor trial on that strain.

I'm really liking the first picture you have there, and actually the first one looks somewhat similar to the purple haze in the 3rd pic. At first glance I thought I saw webs in the 2nd picture but then I quickly realized it was just a really long pistil, which is much better than webs. I would've felt pretty bad if I had to notice spider mite webs on your plants if you didn't know about it already... but, they're pistils.. and the more the marrier for those!
I will post some pictures again soon as well. I actually had to trim a small branch off the main plant I've been posting pics of here cuz others are getting large and that one branch stuck out kinda weird and without it I gained a lot more space. Anyways, it just dried for a few days so I've actually got some pics of trimmed bud, even though its way too early yet, still looks good. I believe shes at 7 weeks now so shes getting pretty close, I'm just not sure how quickly this strain will actually mature since it was outdoors the first time I grew it and I think growing outdoors stretches out the flowering period a bit, at least the ripening/maturing phase of it. Also, shes really started to get stinky lately, and its a very unique smell, almost no skunkiness to it unless you chop it or something to cause it to release a strong fresh odor. Its almost got a sourish smell, combined with the very sweet/strong smell of trainwreck that I love so much. I think it reminds me of candy like skittles or something haha, trainwreck that is, but I'd like to think it has some trainwreck in it, and I am very familiar with T-wreck... in fact I should probably start growing some new t-wreck plants in the near future....
Anyways, check back in a little bit for some pics, I'll actually post some of the ones of the trimmed bud now, and the living plant later.
-
23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
Heres some pics of the small branch I took off early to make more space in my flower room. It was removed between 6-7 weeks into the flowering period so it is still fairly immature, especially since I believe this strain will have a longer than average ripening period. Hopefully ya'll think its looking good thus far. Enjoy!
P.S. - Killfrenzi you should post some more pics of the full plants, I like seeing those. Also, based on what you've seen from my pictures, and knowing that my plant is 32" tall NOT INCLUDING CONTAINER, what would you guess the dried weight of the harvest will be? Just a ballpark figure doesn't have to be real accurate of a guess. I just have a number in my mind and I wanna compare that with someone else, and then the final result so I can get better at predicting rough yields during the growing phase so that I can prepare/plan more efficiently in the future.
Edit: Oh and one more thing, you should check out another thread I just posted last night about another plant I'm flowering and growing for the first time. I'll paste the link here for you, just read through that thread and comment on it if you can. I haven't gotten much for responses on it and I'm really eager to hear what people think so I can post what I think about it and discuss that further.
