It's the police at my door ! Stay cool ! Try to stay cool ! Waaagghhhh !

Got the fright of my life last night. A friend called to my apartment to send a file from my laptop. After he was done he left, it was around 11.30pm. After saying goodbye I locked my front door behind him. I went upstairs to get back to Modern Warfare 3 survival mode with my flatmate. I had only sat down for 2 minutes or less when the door bell rang. First thought to my mind was my friend left something behind him and he had come back for it. I opened the door and what was standing in front of me ? Three uniformed police...

At that point time stood still... I had flashes of all the things in my apartment which are illegal... I saw my tent in my sitting room with 7 cuttings in it, I saw my tent in my bedroom with a few ounces growing on in it, and I visualised a few other things I won't mention. Needless to say I got a fright. the cuttings in the sitting room are also beginning to smell a bit as there is no carbon scrubber on the tent. The cops were 15 feet away from my bloom room ! Way too close for comfort. Lucky I have a wicked carbon scrubber in there !

So there I was, standing at the door with copious amounts of weed inside and 3 uniformed police outside. What to do ? What do I say ? I settled for "Hey...".

I suddenly became very conscious of my facial expressions and even my breathing. I purposely slowed my breathing and put on a slightly confused expression on my face and my eyebrows slightly raised. I wondered if I was blushing... I told myself to keep eye contact... It will make you seem more trusting and honest... I was so glad that I didn't have a joint burning in the house ! If the smell it they have the power to come right into the flat without a warrant.

There was an uncomfortable silence and I realised that each police officer was looking at me with a strange expression on their faces. The silence was so protracted that I even had time to look at each police officer individually before a word was spoken.

I noticed an A4 padded envelope in the hand of the middle cop. I thought to myself that in there was a search warrant. Finally, after this weird staring contest one cop said something. He asked my if I was Akmed Abdulah or something like that. I am Caucasian so I then realised why they were looking at me so strangely. My complexion didn't match the name. At this point I began to laugh even though I could get a slight hint of the smell off the cuttings. Or maybe it was all in my head. One cop turned to the other two and said to them, "He doesn't quite look like a Akmed does he?". The others agreed, they apologised and left. RESULT ! I thought to myself... They obviously got the wrong apartment...

What are the odds ? I felt like that guy in the Quentin Tarentino film Reservoir Dogs, when the guy with the weed had to keep his cool in the toilet while 3 or 4 cops and a dog were in the toilet with him.

Not a nice experience with all that mature bud growing in my bedroom.... You can see the pictures in the link below :)

Maybe this can be seen as a desensitising exercise for the next time I see the cops at my door. I'll be even cooler then ;)

IN the USA the smell would give them probable cause and then they wouldn't need a search warrant. first shut and lock the door behind you. (Make sure you have the keys to get back in.) Ask them what the problem is. and deny them access to the house without a warrant. Don't fall for intimidation tactics. but denial of entry does not give them probable cause. Ask them for their names and a business card. They must provide you with a business card if you ask for one. ITS THE LAW. The card will have the officers name and bond # on it along with his/her badge number.Information you can use to file a private complaint one for incompetence as the three fools got the wrong address. Keep things out of sight AT ALL TIMES. out of sight out of mind.I use an ionier and WOW! puts my fears out of mind. i smoke and in 20 minutes house is clean... no smell. You can also tell them you have a dog that does not like people in uniform like the post man. Download a big dog barking and play it on .mp3 file on your computer speakers when someone knocks at the door.

I am quite careful in the flat. Nobody sees anythings that I do. I haven't told any of my friends that I grow.

I dont have to many plants growing either. In future I will grow just from seed and only grow 4 max. Some of the cuttings will have to be killed or maybe I might plant them outdoors.

Im only putting 4 plants in the tent in future.

I wouldn't say fuck the police. I think that they provide a valuable service in society. Without them we would be living in a very different world. Sure, some cops are pains in the ass but so are some postmen. same all over.

Its not the police who are to blame for weed being incriminating. I would say fuck the politicians before I would say fuck the police. the cops just follow the laws made by the politicians.

i said fuck the police because they invaded your rights assuming your were john doe without any proof.....why would they knock at your door at 1130 or so looking for someone when they have no clue.....i repeat fuck the police, the government, and the elite........you got lucky bro or your ass woulda been toast....thank someone.....and i know that its not all fuck this and that, but i have had enough of the police state in the us

i can see how you might not like the police in the US. I live in far Western Europe and the cops aren't too bad here. America is in for some hard times I'd say.

It seems that the elite want to own you and everything about you. They can now pick you off the street never to be seen again. Taken off to a work camp. They are already building them I'm sure. a new bill was passed by Obama which gives the government this power. all they have to do is say that you are an enemy of the state or helping a terrorist group. And that's it, off you go , to be held indefinitely and without trial. Scary place that land of the free and democracy. Better be obedient over there. Those elite few have the population on strings. I think I'm glad to live where I am. Cops are pretty relaxed here and we don't have much violent crime. Nothing like the US anyway. I think we have about 20 gun related killings each year. Just watched Sicko this evening by Michael Moore. Your medical system isn't the greatest to be honest. Obama wants to socialise the health system in the US. Obviously all those insurance companies won't be having that and that's why they bought most of your congress. I hope Obama will get his way with socialising the health care. Hilary Clinton tried to do the same thing but then she too got bought off by the insurance companies. All one big circle jerk going on over there. I hope the US wont become as bad as I think it will. I certainly won't be going there any time soon. I just feel bad for the people, the regular citizens.

they will soon censor the internet in the US. I bet they will do it. They will say that they are doing it to protect the US citizens from the evil doers ! To take your voice and knowledge.
They are slowly going to take your guns too. You'll see. Americans have to right to bear arm so as to topple oppressive governments, not just to hunt.

You will have no voice, no way of fighting the government, and even if you do fight back they have a special work camp already prepared to get rid of you and your influence on their obedient society.

A thousand times this. The police don't make the law, they enforce it. When you sign up to become a policeman you don't get a little form asking you what laws you are comfortable enforcing. Just the same as a soldier doesn't get to pick what wars he wants to fight in. You sign up and do what you are told. I have no time for people who hate on the police for doing their job. If the laws in a country are dumb, it is up to the public to vote in people who will change them.

you guys are all brainwashed, u think the cop upholds the constitution or the billl of rights.....you are not innocent until proven guilty and all the cops do is enforce the law....if the law was bad, and a cop is a citizen, then why not say something about it......its not that way at all....my mom was murdered and the cops caught the guy, but u think they gave a shit about me or anyone of my family???? doing my job my ass......read the fucking laws and know them so when a cop talks to u and doesnt know the law u can mess with them.......dont get me wrong....i m not like i hate cops, i have friends who are cops....its just this new mentality going on in the states after 9/11

I think this thread was intended to be humorous. unfortunately it did not have the desired effect. To me it was a funny story, it then turned into something different. If this thread continues to be negative then it should be stopped. It wasn't intended to be that. The second last line of the original post wanted you to enjoy the story.
