the doc was a bit weird...

Hey, so i thaught I would share this little story and how I feel about the situation. If you have been in the same situation, which isn't likely (or it might be, u never know), plz share ur thaughts...
So I recently made a short trip to the doctors and was seen by a diff doc than my usual ( ok, I went to the hospital... Nothing major though I'm fine now) and was drilled very seriously about my "drug" use. He asked me "do u have any medical problems?" I said yes, chronic back pain, migranes and trouble sleeping. He asked " have u ever had surgery" I said no, because I havnt. He was like do u smoke? ...
Let me just say that I am completely honest about my cannabis use with any person that is going to give me treatment based on what I tell them, and my symptoms. So I'm honest.
Anyways, I answered "I don't smoke tobacco"
He looked at me funny, smiled and said "ok, what do u smoke?" I had to resist the strong urge to say something stupid, and I said "I have my medical marijuana license." To which he responded " for what?"
Seriously?
He continued " you are young to have that"
I felt like I was in the principals office or something, I was kind of upset at how he was acting twards me. I asked him what he knew about cannabis and why he seemed to have such a biased opinion about it? He didn't like that very much and said cannabis has not had the proper research to be labeled as a medicine.
Hehe I could have debated with him for hours, but I said ok and nodded.
The point of this whole story is that I was very offput about how he made me feel about his opinions, because usually I don't care what people think because I know cannabis is harmless. He is a doctor and I felt it was slightly unprofessional of him how he conducted himself...
Plz share your thaughts and oinions...
Should I not he so open about my cannabis use to physicians?
Because that seems counterproductive to me.

I'm told that I should quit cannabis consumption every single time I go in to see my VA doc.... With a smile, I reply, "I appreciate your concern"....

I've been prescribed many big pharma pills in the past for pain and sleep....and now that I don't ask for them....I'm told that I should quit using cannabis.... Why??? Probably because they want to push big pharma concentrates to me again....

IMO....doctors see all forms of smoking as unhealthy.... So maybe your doc might have been just trying to say that you shouldn't smoke??? IDK, maybe....I wasn't there but that's usually the reason my docs tell me not to use....to which I remind them the power of edibles....

There is alot of research available. :( It just isn't 'mainstream' enough yet. :wtf:Not to mention our Gov't stopped testing a long long time ago!

Docs get 'kickbacks' from big pharm companies and that is the bottom line. How are they going to get a 'kickback' (expense paid trip for family to private secluded island off the coast of France) you name it they get it!

Should you tell them. No! Would you tell them you drink too much? Only if you were real sick. They will find what they need in that area! I have found it is best not to tell, unless you are having a problem they are having much difficulty diagnosing. Then, I would be cautious. You don't want anything on your medical records that, in some way, can be used against you!

Now, if you are being treated for cancer or some disease that most people feel is medically acceptable for use of Cannibis, Heck Yes, tell them. You have little to gain at that point!

There can be a point in one's life that you will be involved in something, like an accident. If you are not at fault and need to take legal action for medical bills, they have the right to supeona your medical files. Most docs don't bother to 'weed' thru your file before sending. This is not information you would like used against you! Would you like to sit in a courtroom and say, well I only smoke 2 bowls a day! 'And yes mam, how many did you have before you caused this accident?' If you are taking any prescribed medication and involved in an accident, it may cause a problem---DUI is all inclusive. I was told to ask the doctor if he knows what the endogenous cannabinoid system is. Good luck, just remember that you know the way that you need to be treated. He's the one who's been in the clouds, since he started studying his specialty.

A doctor should never lie to their patients. A doctors job is to know the truth. Any doctor that thinks their opinion matters should be struck off. ^^ how are you beachguy? its me LIP!!! The infamous lip lmao :) hope everyones good

Use their opinion as fact. medical fact.

I had a physical once, and my dr asked me if I "did any drugs". Being that I knew he got his degree from a university in the Netherlands, I thought he'd be understanding of cannabis use. I asked him if my response could be just between he and I (not entered into my medical record, as I didn't want it to affect life insurance, if I ever wanted to get some) and that I'd listen to any medical advice he'd give me about it. He responded "whatever you tell me, I will write here". So I said "then, no".

Most general physicians at hospitals will look negatively on cannabis use, especially if it's smoked. Smoking anything is bad for you. So I just tell them what they need to know unless it so happens that I can have an off the record discussion abou it with them. Otherwise, expect the type of response you got. Every doctor I've seen regarding mmj emphasizes that it's best to vaporize, followed by water pipe as a means of ingestion.

So, in reading & processing this information what do ya'll see

A. Most governments wish to keep our heads up our azzes

B. "Dumbing us Down" by watching/reading mainstream media & not question authority

C. Feeding us GMO foods

D. Keep us on a "Fiat Monetary System" therefore "in chains" & unable to purchase goods w/o this monopoly money

E. Western Medicine is a joke. Within the medical culture (lived it for many years) we would essentially cook the books on patients to give a skewed analysis of recovery so Everything you read on care/treatment/recovery is a lie.

F. Doctors are taught to do what they are told by their mentors, big pharma & hospitals & lastly but truly first on the list governments. The doc cannot leach off of you if ya wanna consume cannabis cuz their hands are not in the till visa vie taxing (within states ya, but not federally!)


G. Follow The Money...... Answers are in black & white.

Been to the doc a few times in last five years. The only time cannabis came up, was when they found they could prescribe marinol at 7-900bucks a month.

Glad to see someone has his head on straight.

Don't know if it's weird, but two year (since the last battle) check up, but not finding anything(I thought great news), the doc seemed amazed I was still here and clean, but also that my hair grows so fast, should have told the bald guy about pot, but in this state it makes you sick not better
