does anyone know what this could be??
hey all, second grow but still new at this. didn't have this problem with the 1st grow. we have these brown rough patches and some spots on some of our leaves. these plants are about 8-9 weeks old. second picture from bagseed and got lucky to get a female. third is a clone of bagseed. grown in miracle grow potting soil. they've been flowering for about 2 weeks now and the patches seem to be getting worse. my fiance heard it could be rust fungus but i could not find any pics of spots that look like mine. :wtf: on top of that i believe we have n toxicity! gone too far to throw em away now! any feedback would be awesome. thanx in advance. pics may not be that great.sorry Attachment 280837Attachment 280838Attachment 280839Attachment 280840

We need more info on your grow.... Click on the troubleshooting form link in my sig.... Go there and copy the questions....then come back here, paste, then answer them....
After we know more, we can then make an educated guess....instead of a flat out guess....
My current guess - Root bound and a micro nute deficiency....possibly a pH issue as well....

Yeah, fill the form and we'll all take a look. Off the top of my head I'm going to guess that the miracle grow is the issue. When was the last re-pot? Those pots look small. My recommendation is to go out and buy a bag of foxfarms ocean forest, up-pot to something bigger, and then just plain water for two weeks. You really won't need much in the way of nutes if you go with the foxfarms. Remember, you won't see improvement in the damaged leaves. Damage done is damage done. You will look to the new leaves to indicate whether your remediation is working.

Lemme add this.... If ya'll don't mind? I experienced this as well. The rust spots are on the top of the leaves, correct? I was foliar feeding with KLN and forgot I had mixed it to double it's strength.. I sprayed the plants, which were in MG soil.. No spots at all before I sprayed them...
Have you be foliar feeding?
Ga.

no i haven't foliar fed these at all as they r in flower. when i did it was just water in veg. repotted from 10inch round pot to a 2.8 gallon round about a week and a half ago and made a noob mistake by putting ffof in with it. thank you all for the replies and guesses and form is comin in a few minutes:thumbsup:

I think you should get them out of the miracle grow and up pot to a bigger pot. Go with straight FFOF. No need for nutes. Also, note that molasses will act as a nute booster so no molasses until they are well stable. I would also get a proper pH pen. Those aquarium test kids are too inaccurate. Let us know!

thanx for gettin back with me bigsby. so u say i oughta repot again? how can i safely repot into ffof without royally screwing the roots by getting the mg off? and what size would you recomend? kinda have limited space. was goin to the hydro store tomorrow to pick up some 3gal pots for some other transplanting that needs done. would 3gal be ok?

O.K., Before they diagnose bugs for ya. Usually the great growers in this forum will direct you to go to Radio Shack or a hobby store and get a Magnifier of 10X strength up to a Microscope. Whatever you can afford. I have seen bugs before and it was with a scope. Not that some here can't tell without it. I am reserved. I am not from the 'Show Me State' but you may want to see for yourself. I see you are here waiting for some answer. Read while waiting. It's Friday night, maybe some will look when they get home later.
Not that I know, but don't do anything rash without a better look at things. There are alot of theads here on the topic. Hope this helps ya out a bit. At least for now. Nice grow and hope things turn out well for the 2 of you!:rasta: & good luck! pr

How do we know it's bugs? ML said nothing to indicate an infestation of any sort although PR offers some good advice. A decent pocket scope will come in handy. Don't worry about getting the MG off the roots. Give it a very gentle shake and let any loose stuff fall away. Otherwise, just surround it with new soil. Perhaps flush first to leach out some of the nutes in the MG. 3 gallons would work but 5 gallons would be better. If you have no need for 5 gallon pots consider bags? The MG and FF has plenty of food. No more nutes or molasses until week 4 of flower and then @ 1/8 strength. Less is more! Don't over engineer it.

hey dutch i know you didnt mean anything by it but we just know that with the results of our last grow that the lights arent causing the problems we're seeing. gave them a flush last night with 2.5 gal of 7.0 water. the soil after we flushed was 6.5-6.8. so we'll see what happens eh?

hey waterdog thanx for the reply and link but it did not take me anywhere that had to do with plant trouble. gave me some bible suggestions:(
-
does anyone know what this could be??
I'll bet that happened right after they went into flower.
It's pretty common, when I transition from 16:8 to 12:12 my fan leaves do that.
It's a major shock and flowering needs are different, nutewise as well.
When I transition from LEDs to sunlight too abruptly my fans look like that, and worse.
The plant will take what it needs from the fans/storehouses, to keep the new growth happy.
What's important here is the new growth.
That looks pretty good from here. (mo'betta pics would be nice.)
Jus' leave the fans alone, the plant will drain, and then drop them when she's used them up.
Watch the new growth closely, and get back to us if that gets hinky.
In short?
No worry.
Aloha,
Weeze

You are definitely experiencing nutrient burn/ too much N. Flush using about 5 or 6 gallons of water per 3gal pot. After the soil dries begin feeding with a much weaker bloom solution. Remember, too much nitrogen can really inhibit flowering, as soon as you see any leaf tips curling downward, combined with really dark green leaves you can be sure its too much N.
Using floros makes it really easy to over feed because they dont provide much light energy to the plant. there is also some other nutrient issues, but nothing a flush wont solve.
Its your grow so do what you want, but it would be a huge improvement to upgrade to an HID lighting system.

does anyone know what this could be??
I believe that is calcium and magnesium deficiency. I am not 100% sure but from my experience it looks very similar.
-
does anyone know what this could be??
Magnesium deficiency. If your brown spotting starts off as golden yellow spots that are small and numerous, then it's mg def. This can be solved with some epsom salts if you want to fix on the cheap. One half teaspoon of salts in a gallon of water and give that next time you water. The fix takes a couple of days to disappear. For alot of growers I usally recommed that instead of miracle grow that people try a fert called Dynagro as it has pretty much everything plants need, including calcium and mg. It just doesn't have a very long shelf life, maybe six months. For now I'd probably try the epsom salts and see what happens. I wouldn't necessarily try to switch soils or even transplant if you don't have space, but if I were you I'd plan on taking some clones of good branches and start them in small cups of soil. Cloning is an art in itself and everyone should know how. For the future I'd probably use Foxfarm fert and throw in one half cup of their Fruit and Flower powder fert that the grow stores sell. Mix one half cup or so for every 2-3 gallons of soil and you probably won't have any more problems. Some people say these ferts don't work, but if that's the case why does the company make them? Mix the fert into the soil and just water when dry. Easy. Oh you might switch to 5 gallon buckets in the future.

yeah i thought n tox as well. we already flushed about 3 or 4 days after the first post. seems to be doing better and now almost looks like some kind of def. not sure what though. have to put up more pics this weekend.

does anyone know what this could be??
polishpollack we actually have some crazy spots like that on the unknown seed and its the tallest. do you think magical would help with that instead of epsom? wouldn't the salt build up and kind of hinder her like any other salt build up? and definetly hear ya on the cloning thing! might have it down now! love those rapid rooters. got some technaflora nutes we're still playing with. thank you all for the replies and we will definetly get some more pics up to let you all know what happened.
