recently friday night at about 11 pm i smoked some new kush and my heart rate yes elevated i know, usually it lasts only an hour or so and than drops but its been almost 48 hours since my heart rate has dropped it has been at 120 bpm and it hasnt droped since, ive gone to a walk in clinic jus to be directed to the hospital after i went to the hospital, the doc said that my heart is beating fast but it should be good in a day or two its already been a day and nothing at all, if any one has any ideas what could cause this let me know and ive been smoking for roughly 3 years so i know when my hearts supposed reduce beating, oh i have no other symptoms just rapid heart beat and i havent smoked since friday side note: donno if this is important but im 18........

Hi Blind, Well lets see what we can do for you here, first. Have you had any dental work a cough or any other symptoms going on right now? A fever? It is unusual and I have not read or know of anyone's HR (tacchycardia) lasting that long from simply pot. There are some manuevers you can do to get it down. But, you do need to cover your bases before and try to find what is causing this First! I find a great Sativa will be may be what induced this. However, it would not sustain it. Then we will cover how to get it back down!
Do you know what your resting heart beat is? Any injury lately? Fever?
With this HR you may start 'feeling' tired and at your age it may be a little difficult to realize. Do not take on any strenuous activity until it is 'normal' for you. And no more Great Sativa's (sure curious what you had:jointsmile:, haven't had that one yet)!

Blind, one thing that you may want to consider is what chemicals the grower of the new Kush you obtained is using. Hopefully this is not the case, but a foliar pesticide may have been used before harvest.

i havent had any dental work done, i have no coughing no fever nothing im perfectly fine except for my heart rate, i have had no injuries or anything, and my usual heart rate is 90-95 and yea lol but the thing is my girl smoked it and she was perfectly fine :/ and yea i cant do any streneous activity i cant even work atm but either than the heart beat im fine. and yea i was kind of thinking it might of been laced but i didnt have hallucinations or anything of such. and haha def not a girl :P but yea thx everyone for the help much appreciated :)

O.K. let's see if this helps you. If you need further instruction come back and say so! I'll hang around a bit! First, I want you to know the two described techniques do work and I have seen this. It is not funny and it isn't like I am going to ask you to stand on your head and hold your breathe!
High stress is a known factor for frequent PAT episodes. You may not be able to eliminate all stress in your life, but it helps to eliminate what you can. Talking to a good therapist, learning meditation, and getting daily simple exercise like walking can all help avoid paroxysmal atrial tachycardia episodes occurring frequently.
Some people experience PAT episodes that can last for several hours at a time. This can be daunting and frightening. There are a few things that can be done to help stop a quick heartbeat. First, try not to panic, since stress over the event will only prolong it. Try to get into a deep breathing mode if possible, and remind yourself that the episode will pass.
In both the following technics you need to strain to hold your breathe while trying to blow out! Do not exhale, it is part of the maneuver. And this is not a joke. O.K.!
You can try going to the bathroom and having a bowel movement. This often stops a PAT episode. Many people use neck massage, (have your physician teach you), especially of the carotid artery to help slow fast heartbeats.
Others report that bathing the face in ice water assists in stopping an episode. Hold your breathe when you do this, as well. It should be noted that any method you try should be done under a doctor’s advice and guidance, and that first the condition should be appropriately diagnosed by a cardiologist or electrophysiologist.

Now, blind, you do not actually have to have a bowel movement, just strain hard! As if you are trying to! That one is simple and quick to do. You need to shut the world out and give it your all. You are tricking your nervous system here. It usually works.
If not, then proceed to the ice water trick. You get ice (no beverage in it) fill a very large bowl full and put cold water in it. Hold your breathe and place as much of your face and head in it as possible. It does help to get it in the ears. But, I personally do not like that! It is more effective, but can cause some ear problems.
If those don't work. Do not try carotid massage. You are young enough these should work. Most likely you do not have an underlying cardiac condition. However, you cannot rule it out either, without going to an M.D., which you tried and he/she should have told you these maneuvers. In the future, request a different Dr., as that one should have helped you out! Good Luck and don't let this condition persist. Agricultural pesticides like Imidacloprid, Azinphos, Ronalin, Diazinon and others when inhaled, taken orally, or absorbed through the skin cause both cardiac and pulmanary distress. I do not know how this can effect the body when consumed carcinogenically (burned and inhaled), but I couldn't imagine it to be benneficial. Whatever the issue, a personal system detox might be recommended, as well as eliminating the medicinal as a possibility...I would be safe and dispose of the kush.
