This is my first ecperience with growing seeds so it might be a silly question to Yall but I was just wondering. Can you send them into budding early like you can with clones? Or do I need to wait? They are not autoflower or anything special, I found them in some dro I had baught and they now look lovely, but I want to bud them soon. N e one got suggestions or info?
If it's the size you want it to be in veg and you think it's time to flower it . Go ahead. A plant is a plant! But seeds can produce bigger plants. So take that into consideration.
youll get more silly answers than one silly question im sure:) if its a long flowering strain like haze that would be fine to start flower after rooting. early flowering strains probably not a good idea as they most likely wont have the branch length to give clones and wont produce desired yields. setup may have a huge influence as well.Quote:

i dont know guys, i still think you need a solid root base to support the flowering structure. long running plants have time to develop that as they are flowering. micro growing maybe a different issue, ive never done micro though.

I could'nt agree with you more! However.. When I was growing Jack Herer,it was some of my first experiences with a sativa type or long running strain. You really would need a solid root structure for a plant with that duration of time of finishing!Quote:

Of the three.seedlings i started with:
One is now topped.
One is still in dirt.
One is now residing in new new experamental dwc bucket. I have all three.of.them in the same small area, but I have them seperated from my now flowering clones. As of right now I'm feeling a little sketchy about giving them nutes so I'm not.
Maybe by the pictures Yall could help me figure out what strain they are..?
I don't think anyone could possibly tell you the exact strain name....but they do look like sativa dominant plants.... That means that they are going to stretch on ya....so if you have a small space, really consider how big they will get once you flip them to 12/12....Quote:

Check this drip bucket out I put together. Clone is is shock!! Really.. But you use no timer. It runs all rhe time. The plant will be huge stalked!Quote:

That's neat. Looks better than mine. I just threw together some stuff I already had. And don't laugh when I tell you what kind of light I'm using. The space they are in was thrown together anyways, just to seperate my project from my flowering plants. I found one of those lamps you clip to stuff, and I went and baught a "plant" bulb from wallmart. It's only temporary and it wouldn't suprise me if it was not the proper light to keep them healthy. Oh and two of the leaves on all three seedlings are now turning upside down...weird right? I need to get them out of that ghetto space and put them in an enviornment that's easier to controll.

I've got some things I've learned in the past few weeks of starting a hydroponic project,that I should mention.
First thing,is to make sure you cover the slots in the basket with hydroton. That way light won't get to your res. below. In turn growing algae in your bucket. BLACK BUCKETS are BEST! Adding an airstone to your solution to give the roots some oxygen,is a plus!
Algae on top of the hydroton is fine! Algae won't grow without light or nutrients. No harm no foul.
You should always clean your res.at every nute change.
Make sure you clean your hydroton with clean ph'd water.
Now I know by learning these things would be of help to anyone that does this for the first time,like myself. I'll post some before and after of my lil'shocked clone.

Let's just say,that I always wondered! So.. I just tried it with success.I might add. Thought for a minute I kiled her. Just started with oxygen being the primary ingredient other than ph'd water in the res. Still needed something I'm sure cause it was shocked like hell!
From there just went to 1/4 strength nutes. I've only changed the res. 3 times. When I clean it I empty the res and dry it with a towel.Then spray 10% bleach solution, Clorox,in the bucket and let it sit and towel dry or rinse with water,then towel dry.
Fill it back to fill level.
Now I'm up to full strength now.

P.S. I still like DIRT the best! But it's fun Tweakin' the project.If I get it figured out? Who knows.
