can i get in trouble for this?

hi, i guess im a little late asking the question because i already wrote this paper, but can i get in trouble with my school for writing a biology paper in favor of the legalization of weed? i wrote a 9 page essay describing the governments lies, and the truth about how much cannabis could really benefit society. our assignment was to indapendantly research a topic of personal choice, and to write an opinion paper about it. i really hope i cant get suspended or something for thsi paper because i worked really hard on it. thanks guys, peace

Well I dont know. It probably wasn't a good idea since know you're looked on as a threat. You might get some teachers or deans breaking your balls about it. You wont get suspended. But what will happen is that you will be put on a list of "suspected" drug abusers/sellers. So.. I dont know if cops come in your school every now and then and search the lockers with K9s. But your locker will be the first to have a K9 search it.

If your in high school, they'll have a conference with your parent(s) about your "problem". If you're in college, you'll get an A, and get to smoke with the prof.

I hope this is a college/university paper; high school at least. The topic you chose to write about is a big issue right now across the nations, and since you said they gave you the choice of what to write on, I don't think there will be a problem.

yea, it is a highschool paper. if they try to search me at school im fine because i never carry at school, and i dont even use my locker. i wont care at all if they conference with my parents too because my parents know i smoke alot of marijuana, i've even offered it to them on several occasions and if my mom wasnt there my dad would have surely done it. basically i am going to be excercising my right of free speach, peace.

Yea, my mom asked me to buy some weed for her cuz shes a hippie art teacher but doesnt have any connections. I would've smoked up with her, but i think that would have been too weird. My dad was upset at first that i got it for her, but now he's chill cuz they enjoy smoking together every once in a while. ...its nice to have parents like that :)

That's crazy because just the other day I wrote a similar paper. Mine was somewhat like that, but we could only use facts, not just opinions. So basically, I turned it into a thesis by calling it an "Enlightenment on Legalization." You should be fine. My english teacher finally asked me if I "smoked the ganja" and shes real cool about it. If you have a dick for a teacher and he tries to get you into trouble by saying that it was inappropriate for high school, which is doubtful anyway. All you have to do is say that he offered any topic that interested you and this is a burning issue everywhere. Props for having the balls to do it too. Not many high school guys would.

Man, am I ever glad I live in Canada. it just appauls me that American authorities (police/government/schools etc.) can prosucute people for having contradictory views to what the administration considered acceptable. I mean where the hell is democracy in that? Frankly I can't even comprehend how marijuana is illegal yet we sell tobacco, alchohol, and many far more potent prescription psychiatric drugs for people with anything from schizophrenics to kids labeled "ADD" for not meeting the societal norm.

I did the same thing, my teacher knew i smoked mad amounts of weed though. I joked about it with her all the time. She was mad cool, like 24-25 years old, and she was fuckin mint lol The assignment was to write a letter to the PM(Paul Martin lol) I wrote about fully legalizing marijuana, and selling it in stores lol And we actually sent it to the PM... They can't say shit, just because oyu wrote about it doesn't mean you do it, it may just be an issue that concerns you..

yeah, high school can be a bitch in regards to being able to exercise your rights... quite often your rights are compromised when you bring up controversial issues.

damn... that's why I love college. You can state your opinion on anything with pride as long as you have some decent arguments to back it up. I recently wrote a paper on "positive and negative influences in my life" ...my largest paragraph was devoted to explaining how pot has influenced me positively throughout my life... perfect score! BooYah!

Even if you do get some shit from your teacher or administration about your paper, just hold on, stay strong, and remember that once you're out of their oppressive grasp, you'll have the completely freedom to voice your opinion at a more open-minded institution... college :)

You've got 1st amendment rights , man, and props to you for exercising them. Naturally, they'll suspect you of being a stoner so you'll have to not carry at school.

Did the paper admit to using drugs? If so, probably not the best move, but hardly prosecutable; after all, you weren't under oath when writing the paper, so if they try to nail you for it, just pass it off as "creative rhetorical strategy".

Again, free exercise of rights is about all America has left going for it, so be sure to exercise your rights daily--especially the right to toke it up.

yeah back early this year i wrote a 8 page essay on the medicinal and recreational benefits and bad things about marijuana...handed it into my teacher...now every sinle teacher in the school has labeld me a pothead and if im even so much as sleepey or in a bad mood i get sent to the nurse for a sobriety test (non optional under punnishment of expulsion)

damn man that sux...i would hate being tested

its even funnyer when i just blew a 2 gram blunt of sensi skunk and pass the sobriety test...they cant do a pee test bcuz that dosent test recently it tests far back they like check my eyes and reflex...reflexi? lol...reflexs? i duno the plural...anyways, yeah, thank god for school nurses with a bachelor degree in astronomy! lol
