Pushit's White Rhino attempt

Basically what im working with is 4 White Rhino clones. They are in FFOF, 1 gal grow bags, under cfls, and no nutes as of yet. The temps are 79 degrees with lights on and drop to around 70 with lights off. Humidity is around 60%. What im gonna attempt is to top, lollipop, and maybe a little lst if needed. My goal is to have 4 colas per plant and nothing else. All four were topped about 3 days ago.

Ive seen this done before but i have never tried it. I dont really care for the WR phenom that im working with so im popping more seeds to find a better mom. So what better clones to torture haha. I have around 30 days before i have a free 400hps so this should give the clones plenty of time to heal. This grow is gonna take longer than usual cause ill be letting the plant heal a little in between cuttings.

I made about 4 or 5 cuts to each clone tonight. I basically just hacked away at the clusterfuck of new growth at the bottom. Im gonna wait a week and finish cutting them up while taking a couple clones since my last WR seeds are not looking very promising. Thats what i get for planting all the good looking seeds first and leaving the worse ones for last :D So in one more week all i will have left on the clones is the top 4 budsites and some top fan leaves.

I decided to post a pic of my Pure Power Plant to show kinda what ill be doing to the bottom half of the plants. Im thinking im gonna add silica blast to their next watering to try and help with stress issues. Hell its just sitting in the room never being used so why not? haha.

I will update this grow tonight when lights come on if the pic deal is fixed by then.

Well tonight i did a little trimming. Each plant only has 4 budsites now except one. I couldnt determine which one i wanted to cut so im gonna let it go a little longer and see which one has grown the most. Next week i will start a light feeding with FF nutes and try a little bondage to attempt to have everything even. The first pic is from when i topped. Second pic is what the stem looks like now. Third is a group top shot and the last pic is some of the cuttings I decided to save.

I have had a hard time trying to clone. Do you have a cloning machine? Any advise? I do not have a cloner yet, have just been trying with a humidity dome with cuttings in water onlyl.

I use Rapid rooters, ph6 water, and Clonex. Its actually pretty easy. The main two things i think will make or break you is temperature( mine are usually around 85 degrees) and being sterile when you take your cuttings. I usually mist the dome a couple times a day(not the cuttings). When i do the misting i will leave the dome off for around 10 min each time. Thats pretty much it and hopefully in a week or two there will be roots. That just how i do it.

As for a cloning machine, tonight was my girlfriends time to do it so she was my machine:D We try to alternate doing everything so we both learn:thumbsup:

Use care, and check the ph. My Silica Blast came out of the jug at 10.5 ph. Silica Blast MAY have helped with heat stress issues, but it also stunted the plant. (smaller leaves, shorter branches, looser buds...) Even though I live in the desert...I still have 90% of that gallon left. Not worth using if it causes more problems than it solves.
Is it (the PPP) rootbound...?

Hey Rusty, glad to see you back:thumbsup:

I used about a 1/4 teaspoon of the Silica Blast in a gal for the WR clones that im cutting the hell out of haha. A real small amount. After adding Blast and ph down the ingoing water was 6.6. Next watering im gonna do the same again along with a little FF nutes and a good spray down with Serenade. After my first grow im paranoid as hell about pm so everything in veg usually gets the Serenade hose down every couple weeks. I have yet to see it again since ive been doing this (knock on wood).

The PPP was transplanted from one gal to 3 gal around a month ago. She only has about 3 weeks left. I have been doing my final transplant around 2 weeks into 12/12 and have not noticed any bad affects doing this. I checked trichomes last night and shes about 25% clear and 75% cloudy. Next week i will start the final two week flush on her. I hope she bulks up a little. Heres a couple pics of her from last night.

I'm pulling up a chair to watch :smokin:. White Rhino was a strain I was looking at trying myself in the future if I want a change of plant. So I'm curious if you come across any quirks or preferences they may have. Have you decided how long are you going to veg them for? They're looking healthy and happy :)

Hey rattlingdags

I think im the wrong person to ask about WR. Ive been unlucky on the phenoms i ended up with. Someone with more experience than i have would probably do alot better. Basically what im trying to say is dont judge WR by this grow by no means:D It produces some pretty good smoke.

As for the length of veg time im not really sure. Im pretty much just waiting on room in flower. Like i said, with these 4 plants im just playing around. Im trying different things that ive never done just to see if i like anything that i can start doing with my fav strains.

I have only grown Nirvana White Rhino; one time in 2005. It liked to branch out and would have worked great for SCROG methods. Crippling high.

There used to be a member here named Eskeetro. The pic below is his. White Rhino was his thing...:thumbsup:

Thanks for the pic DP, he really did a most impressive job of training that plant. Beautifully even. Yep I think it would be a nice strain to try one of these days.

You could also try adding some Superthrive to the water. It works miracles on stress.

I actually have a bottle collecting dust in the corner of the room. I might play with it a little if the Silica Blast doesnt do the trick. As of right now the little ones are doing ok with no signs of stress so ill let them be. Thanks for reminding me that i actually have it around:D

BTW thanks everyone for all the replies and helpful things to watch out for. Im always up for new ideas and suggestions. The way i see it is a person cant get better without experimenting from time to time. Plus judging by the quality of people that have popped up on here so far, there's alot of knowledge that can help me or someone viewing this. Thanks again:thumbsup:

Well tonight i did a little bondage to the ladies. Im probably rushing things along a little fast. Its better to give them at least a week in between procedures but i have alot to do to them before they flower. The first pic is a close up of what i did and the second is a group shot. Its gonna be alot of work to get all 8 colas even. Only time will tell if im able to do it or not.

I'm kinda peeking in from the corner over here to see what I can learn. I'm 3 or 4 weeks into my first attempt at a low budget grow and working with VERY limited funds. 2 are sickly, one's trying to get started good and one i had to pull and reseed due to some yellowing on the leaves, starting from the bottom that killed the plant. With my luck that will have been the only female in the bunch. Oh well. Stuff happens. But it seems the info is free here, although well above my head.

I have been growing WR for a while now and overall I really like it as a strain. I started off growing it from cuttings and made myself a mom, but I also bought some WR seeds from Greenhouse because afaik they were the original breeders. I had very poor results from the seeded strain (low yield, poor quality/taste and a ridiculous amount of stretching) I tried over several grows to find out why and I still don't know (the two strains were growing side by side). The clone WR is lovely, good yield, great smoke and stays compact with strong stems.

I am going to be really interested in the reults you get. Do you know the origin of the WR you are growing?

I got these seeds from Nirvana. I have had nothing but problems with this strain. The mother that i took these clones from is in flower right now. For some reason this is the only plant that is having some severe clawing issues with the leaves. The last one i flowered did the same thing and i have money that says these clones will do the same. It doesnt affect the bud. It just doesnt look pretty haha. Dont get me wrong its more likely to have something to do with the grower rather than the strain. Im pretty much gonna cut WR from my grows and concentrate more on the Pure Power Plant and Blackberry after this grow. All depends on my seedlings of corse. After taking some pics tonight im seeing a phos def. Most likely from a lockout so gonna flush with sledgehammer and resume feeding after she dries. Heres a couple pics of the clones mother.

Well i havent been paying much attention to the cuttings. I finally checked them today and they all rooted. Dont really know what im gonna do with them yet especially since the original plant is popping nanners. As seen in pic from last post. I picked about 6 off the plant but theres most likely a lot more that i cant see. Im still gonna flower the ones in veg but probably just gonna trash all the ones in the cloner. [attachment=o278526]

-I flowered one out before, trying to pick them off as I seem em.. Seemed like they multiplied, so Im unsure about picking; almost damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Actually they have only been fed maybe 3 or 4 times their whole grow so far. If that many. Tiger, grow big, and a little molasses.

Im not really worried about the nanners. Just pick them off as i see them. Wouldnt mind a couple seeds to have around anyways. Im pretty sure its from some unseen stress so the seeds should be fem. Im pretty much just killing time with these clones til my hopefully female seedlings are ready to be cloned.:thumbsup:

I went ahead and chopped the WR that was in flower. Way too early but oh well. As for the clones, they have been pretty neglected this week. Ive been busy as hell with work. I need to make up my mind what i want to do to them. 2 weeks max they will be in flower. I just dont know whether i should go with my original plan or top the hell out of them. Any suggestions would be great. Well here is a quick pic of what they look like now. If i decide on the original plan i will do a little more lst if not they will be beheaded. [attachment=o278616]

Nope just regular seeds. So we will see with these clones if the mom was stressed to the point to pop nanners or if its just the phemon. Either way I will either have some decent bud or some good cannabutter. A win win situation. Ive been wanting to try to make cannabutter so this just might be my chance :D

Thats all just 4 clones from the bottom of her. The two bags you barely see on the far left is my PPP and Blackberry seedlings.

My bad Dutch i think i got confused haha. Were you talking about in the cloner? Yea there was nine in there but they can from 4 moms. The original 4 plants in this thread. I think i did two from each and three from the other. Something like that. I think im cluttering this thread with crap that doesnt pertain to the original 4. It will tend to get confusing but i like these threads a little lively since im always on here. So i like to throw in other things time to time that im working with.:thumbsup:

Tonight i transplanted into 3 gal grow bags and started 12/12. The temp is running about 78 with 55% humidity and they were watered with plain 6.5 tap water. This was the worst transplant that ive done in a long time. I had them in the 1gal bags for too long. The roots grew all up in the folds of the bags which made it a bitch to work with. I should let them recoop for a week in veg to get over the shock but running out of room so here we go. I have been running regular HTG hps bulbs since ive had these 400wt lights so i decided its time to upgrade. I ordered the Hortilux Eye and replaced the bulb above the WR. The other bulb will be replaced when the bagseed are done. The first pic is of the 4 little girls with their new light on and second is with the light off.
