Unknown strain (possibly lemon) Week 8 of flowering.
I have 2 plants which are both into the 8th week of flowering under 2x45w red spectrum cfl bulbs and 2x45w blue spectrum cfl bulbs. They seem to be nice and healthy but taking longer than expected to flower. I think its because of the sativa type growth. could anyone specify on roughly how long they look to have left in the flowering stage? Some pistills are orange already and seem to be increasing daily. Would i be right to say there was roughly 4 weeks to go as ive read on a previous forum sativa's can take from 9-12 weeks upwards. here are some pictures taken this morning

I would say you have at least a month or longer left. I see plenty hairs but very little bud formation. If you are comparing your grow to others be sure you are looking at other cfl grows (they tend to take a little longer than say a HPS grow). Good luck.

Get yourself a true indica strain for your next grow and call this a learning experience....

I understand what you're saying about the lighting, ive only rescently added the other 2 cfl's and the grow rate has deffinately increased. I only used cfls because of heat issues with the grow space being so small. I didn't know if the strain was going to be india or sativa based when i started growing them. Would more cfls help with the light issue or am I wasting my time? I'm not looking for a huge yield as I'm new to growing I'm just doing it for experience and I'm learning as I go. I'm willing to wait till they mature properly and ill know to buy indica seeds for next time. Ill keep you posted with pictures. Thanks for all help and advice. Much appreciated

You've already gone this far, might as well keep going.... I mean, you can harvest whatever is available on week 9-12....up to you.... What I would do is bend and tie as much as necessary to create more of a canopy. This way you can bring your lights in as close as possible. You need to capture all the lumens you can, as close as you can.... Good luck, I'm sure you'll still be satisfied with your end result and learn from the entire grow....
Have fun!!!

Ill have a go and bend more branches and try and even the canopy out as you say and see how it goes. Ill get some more pictures after doing so. I don't mind waiting till the correct time to harvest a wouldn't like to chop em down before most of the pistills have turned orange. Do you think the buds will be light and airy with such insufficient lighting?

Very likely that the buds will be airy and light, more so on the lower portion of the plant than the tops....

hey sorry i aint posted in a while, i rescently had a bit of trouble with 1 of the cfl's blowing up! so i borrowed a 250w hps bulb and ballast from a friend and have it up. how far away from plants should the bulb be? also im noticing around 40-50% of pistills are now orange. i plan to start flushing on monday and flush for a week and hopefully they should be ready for the chop! i couldnt get any rescent pictures because of the brightness of the bulb but bud formations is increasing and i have some descent size bud. ill try and get some pictures somehow and ill keep you all posted. cheers

I have had no time to post with updates but i couldnt get any pictures because of the hps bulb. yesterday i baught a 100x zoom microscope and checked out different parts of the plants and seen nearly all of the trichomes were milky and quite a few amber so i gave them the chop.
first i waited till the soil was totally dried out and had been flushed for 1 week. here are some pictures from the harvest

By the looks of your pics Id say that you are lacking P, Ca, possibly Mg and an age old rule of thumb-
INTENSITY (of light)= DENSITY (of Budz)!
So I do 215 consulting and can help with questions on how to make the right enviromnment in the Rhizosphere and in the
plant.
