Nice cabinet! How are your temps in that?

Hott! I'm putting in a thermometer today because that was one of my theories behind the weird pistils. IDE say in the 90's and I don't want to admit it but its almost uncomfortably hot in there to stand so the plants have to be hating it . Also I'm picking up a nice exhaust fan today to pump out some serious hot air.
-
Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
They have a thermometer/hygrometer at walmart for around 13 bucks and they are great. So how are you gonna run the exhaust? Any ingoing feed or just exhausting? Dont mean to pry but i just like to see how eveyone else is setting up and reasons behind it. Im always changing things in my room. Seems endless sometimes. haha.

yeah i think ill go see them tomorrow i drove to target and stuff and they had one but it was online only so it was pretty lame. here are a few pics of how the exhaust set up is. i went and got that fan i found a guy selling it on clist for 50 bucks so i couldnt pass it up. especially cause it cranks our 440 cfm. Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
Alright so I've been all around the Internet searching for what I've got and it looks like a combination of heat stress mixed with a zinc deficiency or lockout due to a possible imbalance of ph. I'm goig to get a ph meter today I found one at a local hydro store for about 12 bucks and I'm going to test both the tap water and the run off water because I'm going to flush the he'll out of them today and test the water that comes out the bottom. Then from there I'll report back to let you know the findings.
Lemme know if you got any ideas or if I'm on the right path.

IMO get the digital ph pen and stay away from the cheap probes. Just out of curiousity, How do you water? Tap or distilled? My tap water runs about 8.3 most of the time so a good pen really helped me out (milwaukee 600 on ebay for 20 bucks). If you are using distilled you should add a little calmag from what ive read. I never used distilled so im just telling you what ive read and not from experience. I think those babies are gonna perk up after you get the ph and the heat problem solved. What kind of soil are you using?
-
Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
I'm using the miracle grow 3 month feed soil mixes with a 3/1 ratio of perlite. With out the perlite last time my plants never ran Into a problem. Granted it was much cooler but a ph problem was nowhere to be found. I water with tap water and I made sure I would use the same spout I used for the other plants. For superstition reasons of course. The other thing I just thought is that I would water soon after filling the jug. Now I store the water In a bigger container for several days. I'm going to flush with fresh water today for sure. .

Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
Ok so I amazingly found the milwaukee 600 at the store so I bought one and it comes out that my tap water is about 7.3-7.4 and the stored water is about 7.7 and that's pretty high. I'll have to find away to drop it down and flush the plants today

They have all kinds of home remedies for ph on here. I cant remember what they are but Im pretty sure they are for quick fixes not permanent solutions. I use advanced up and down. Cost like 50 bucks for both but ill probably never use all of it. I use 5 to 8 drops at a time. Just something for you to think about. Did that milwaukee come with any calibration solution? You might wanna make sure its right on before you go adjusting your water. It would suck for the pen to be off. Just my 2 cents.

No it didn't and now your worrying me lol. I did a mixture of flushing methods. Some with a little bit of lemon some with a little bit of fert and some just straight water. Also I dimmed the lights a little bit. So that they can stop getting blasted. As far as the meter I'm just hoping it was calibrated When I flushed the plants the water that came out the bottom was reading between 6.4 and 7 for every plant. I'll see tomorrow. Oh and my thermometer is reading about 84-88 degrees right now with the new fan and it feels a lot Cooler than it did before so I wouldn't be surprised if it was about 100+ in there before. I hope I see something I like tomorrow

Is it possible to have the doors of your cabinet open during lights on? If so that would help you out alot if the room its in is cool. Dont know how descrete you have to be. They are gonna love that cooler temp. 85 and under you should be fine. Keep us updated on how they look tomorrow. Good luck

Lol thanks. I've tried to just judge based off what the plants looking. I guess I've been getting pretty lucky in the past. Now that I'm changing shit up I'm getting pissed off cause it's not working lol.

Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
So I haven't lossed any plants yet. They look maybe a little better today than yesterday. I can sort of see some new hairs trying to grow. Very slow though. They look like crap and not at all hairy like they should be. Only time will tell I guess. One other question Is after I flushed them when and about how much water should I give them aide ibdont want to over water or over feed them
-
Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
Once you flush them wait til they dry out or need water. Once they need water i usually water slowly till i see a little runoff. Alot of people suggest putting your finger in about an inch and see if the soil is dry. Others suggest lift your pot after its watered and make a mental note of the weight then when the pot feels light then its time for water. I usually just chill out on watering til the plants leaves droop. Once they start drooping i water then usually a couple hours later they are perked right back up. I have no set schedule for watering. I let the plants tell me. There is also moisture meters you can buy but from what i hear they work ok. Some like them some hate them. Over time you will find out what works for you. So are you planning on using nutes? How far are they into flowering?
-
Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
yeah i think ill do that they got some more water this morning so ill just wait till i notice a drop in leaves before i water them again. thanks for the help im actually starting to see some more hairs come out now so my hopes are back up. and im in my second week of flowering and the only nutes i have are miracle grow bloom booster with is a 15-30-15 fertilizer with some other nutrients thrown in there as well. my last grow i would make the solution how its supposed to be made in a one gallon container and then use only about 2 oz in a double shot glass for each plant before watering with a lager cup of just water. so i woud dilute it down quite a bit you could say. but i would add a little bit more each week.
-
Weirdest thing Ive ever seen
Cool sounds like you have a plan. Keep us up to date on whats going on. Good luck

I'd dilute that fert too if I were you. Hot stuff. You see how the leaf blade tips are curling upward? That's because the plant is too hot and what it's trying to do is create more transpiration, to carry the heat away. So you're right about it being to hot there, but what do you expect for a West Sac garage grow? That looks like a fairly new house and these days, builders don't put insulation in garages. They will sheetrock it, but not paint too, to save money. Nice huh? So a helpful thing would be to actually determine whether or not there is insulation behind the walls and if not, tear out the sheetrock and put some in the event you plan on growing through the summer. Also might be needed in the garage attic. You won't be able to grow in Sac when it's 115 degrees out however. So you might be an indoor seasonal grower. Nice find on that fan by the way. Those good ones are not cheap when new. Pretty cool.

for calibration and storage...SAMS CHOICE PURIFIED DRINKING WATER WITH FLAVOR ENHANCING MINERALS 10 OZ...PH 7.1...get it at wal-mart ... for PH down.... PHOSPHORIC ACID PREP AND WASH...from the home depot .. or add nutes until your PH is where you want it.. stored water goes flat and absorbs crap from the air.....fresh from the tap is better

thanks that what i have been doin just adding nutes until the water is where i want it to be at around 6.7- 6.8. so far ive been seing some improvement and ive been seeing some more pistil growth but there is still a lot that has bwwn burnt and i feel that until next week im not going to be back to full. ive definitely lost about two weeks due to this temperature and ph problem but i am determined to get back to where i should be. there are some branches that are showing great bud pruduction while the main colas of each plant are still showing no signs of growth whitch is worrying me but here are other branches that are showing bright white pistils and good growth.. but yo gotta do what you gotta do and that what im doing. ill let yall know how they look when i finally water them tomorrow and they perk up.

Yeah and things are really looking up. Got almost all the buds growing hairs again and looking healthier. Im thinking it was the perlite and the lack of nutrients because as soonas we started to give them nutes and water them more otter they started to look better. Unfortunately we are still battling heat and the temp is about 93 right now but from what I'm seeing if they are used to the heat they will adapt. These aren't normal plants and they do what they can to survive and they are thriving right now even though the temp is so high. I pushed back my harvest time about 1-2 weeks because of the drawback but things are looking good. I will have pictures up soon when I get back to my computer.
