miracle grow. good or bad?
heres the question.nearly every day i can read from some thread that dont use miracle grow and all that.like im been using it ever sense i started growing(long time ago)and its allways been working well for me..just now days ill mix few of them together to balance them
SO could anybody explain to me ,WHY is it so bad and why so many people dont like it?
miracle grow. good or bad?
I have used MG with great results but have recently changed. The only reason I changed was due to the fact that nearly all MG has time released nutes which makes it almost impossible for me to do a complete flush the final 2 weeks. Thats the only reason I changed otherwise there is nothing wrong with it that i noticed. Works great plus its cheap. Its just my opinion though.

yeah and you know what.your 100% right.
but watch that..thats the way how i built up my containers using pipes.been doing that last 2 years and im not gonna change that way anytime soon.allways perfect result..
if you have less soil and better drainage there isnt much where the feed can stay after the flusing.you are right at everithing what you said but im just tryng da show here that it can be done and it can be done with brilliant results.just one minus about all thatis that i have da water them once a day.sometimes once in 2 days and the concerate for my coctail have da be diluted down in a big time cos othervise i gonna end up with nute burn in less than a day.
miracle grow. good or bad?
mg is coo, my plant is loving it, only problem is with feeding your plants, you can easily burn them........ i literally just made this account, how the fuck do i post lol? is it ok to combine the natural sun light and artificial ? to save money? i put them on my porch out side for 8 hours , the sun goes down and i then put it back inside under 400 wat hps, its about 2 weeks old
miracle grow. good or bad?
yeah of coarse..how many you have. and you dont wanna move them to much cos stress is never helping them to much now=)
aaaa.if your going 8h in porch 8h under 400w and then 6h darkness i think it can turn into a hermy guit easily.i might be wrong but better wait till somebody more experieced will sort you out..
miracle grow. good or bad?
ok, i only have one this is my first time getting the plant to show its true leaves, all other attempts they fell over and died lol hence the reason i made an account on any weed website idk if its even a male or female but i will be happy if i can just get it to flower haha thanks so much for the reply how do i post a new forum though?
miracle grow. good or bad?
and yes im doing 8 on porch and 8 under lights so 16/8
miracle grow. good or bad?
I have actually thought about flushing the MG soil several times prior to use. Never got around to actually trying it though. I just figured itd release most of the nutes before I actually used it. I always figure, no matter what you are using, if it works for you then keep doing it. If it isnt broke dont fix it haha. I have learned that there are alot worse types of soil out there than MG. Hyponex for example is horrible. As for jahoo, moving them like that is fine just keep a really close eye out for bugs. Its easy to contaminate a grow room doing that.

lol did you ever used hortons.i work in DIY store and we have big garden centre and there last year i was messing with PH pens and quess what.PHwas 8.1 with 1 pen and 8.2 with cheap one..so theres deffently a lot of bad soil out there.
and i forget to mention earlier that i ALLWAYS steam my soil.cos years ago i got few bugs with miracle grow and then my mate told me that steam it.i was like that wdf..but yeah ,been doing that years now..and ill just use carpet steamer but just with no chemical.it will kill absolutly anithing what could accually be there..and it only takes like 5 min.just make a hole in a bag stick the nossle in .steam.30 sec take it out..shake the bag and few times like that and you have 100% sterilised soil..and allso i use steam to clean my growboxes time to time.

That steam idea sounds like a good one. I have heard of baking it but never steaming it. Yea bugs are bad especially in walmart soil and local places that buy more then they should and have it sitting around forever. I have never used Hortons but i have used some soils like hyponex that pretty much turn grey and hard like concrete. The only use for that crap is maybe patching holes in the driveway haha.

It's the strictly organic crowd that bad mouths MG, I've used it with good results BUT it is easy to overfertilize and it is very unforgiving if you do, I stay on the conservative side when mixing it and won't give my plants full strength until they are larger. Works great as a foilar spray. I like to alternate with some manure/worm compost/fish oil/seaweed tea and throw in about a 1/4 dose of MG about once a month. I think the organic material provides very beneficial micro nutrients.
I just picked up a large bag of MG potting mix I plan on using.

good man yourself.its good to finally hears something positive about MG.and your deffently right about tht how easy is to over feed your plants.
and now another question for you if you dontmind.what is worm compost?never heard bout that before.
miracle grow. good or bad?
I'm using MG with good results, and I augmented the MG nutes with my own fertilizer tea. Just don't overdo it. You can follow the "Sunroom Grow" link in my signature for lots of details and plenty of photos. Eight weeks to the day from transplanting to first harvest.
jahoo, like you I also move my plants daily from the closet to the sunroom and back for lighting control with no hermie issues. As with any photoperiod-sensitive plants, the key is to not interrupt their dark cycle. The day cycle is much more flexible, since plants have to deal with partial shade all the time anyway, as well as with temperature changes.

what is worm compost?never heard bout that before.>>>
Oooops, meant worm castings(poop) excellent soil conditioner and high in N as well as other micronutrients.
My brother is dead set againsg miracle grow, will only use organic and won't even use pesticides to battle insects. They have a kit which brews manure/worm castings/fish emulsion and bat guano into a tea and they use it for foilar feeding as well as watering.
I don't have a kit I just mix everything in a gallon container and put the bubbler from my aquarium pump in the solution and let it aerate for about 24 hours, the oxygen is supposed to bring the "brew" alive and makes it very active in the soil.

For my spring crop even if I wasn't fertilizing I'd use the aquarium pump bubbler in the water for about 24 hours before watering, this should help dissipate any chlorine in the water and provides fresh oxygen to the roots.

Some folks are misinformed about the benefits of organics. A harmless mistake, but quite an anal one for most enthusiasts. A chemical compound is a chemical compound, regardless of whether it's "organic" or "inorganic". As long as the microbial life in the medium is happy, the plants should be too..
Fertilizer: Organic (Natural) versus Chemical (Inorganic)

If you are unfamiliar with the risks hazards of aerobic and anaerobic microbes that mixing/using your home-brew teas may encourage, perhaps you should either carefully read and understand this entire article: http://www.puyallup.wsu.edu/~linda%2...CompostTea.pdf
...or just go ahead and risk salmonella or e-colli, or clogging your stomata's with unnecessary 'gunk'.
Suction draws-down air when you water. In soil, there is no need to aerate the water prior to use.

"Suction draws-down air when you water. In soil, there is no need to aerate the water prior to use."
I hope you are comfortable when I challenge that statement, 'cause I disagree.:D
Yes, it suctions in air from the top.
However, not all of the water runs out the bottom, yah?
If the water is stale/stagnant going in, what stays in the containers is still stale.
So, I always aerate my water before applying.:)
Does it help?
Seems to.
Bottom line?
Aeration does no harm.
Aloha, an' welcome back from bannedville.
Weeze

I can only speak from the results I've seen myself, they use this stuff for everything they grow(they have a farmers market) and they grew 18 of the biggest plants I've ever seen in person, the tea is just a portion of it but it doesn't seem to hurt them at all.

can anyone help ? if i were to get miracle gro all purpose compost. would i have to add any nutes? or if i were to get the "expand n grow" miracle gro would i have to add any base soil? and again would i have to add nutes?
