Mixed Strains Summer Indoor Harvest

It's hardly Summer here on the New England / Canadian frontier but time to sow for this Summer's harvest. Germinated a variety of good strains, many different harvest dates expected. Five seeds each of eight strains. Each and every one popped out of the seed and is in a 16 oz party cup of Peat-Vermiculite-Compost and under a (4) T54HO grow spectrum lamps for 18 hours/day.

The strains are;

Ak-47
(Happy Brother x Chocolate Chunk) X Ak-47
Chem D X Ak-47
Super Silver Haze
(G13 x Nor. Cali Daddy's Girl) X Neville's Haze
Super Silver Haze X Blueberry
Z11(afghani/sativa) X Neville's Haze
(Super Silver Haze x Blueberry) X Neville's Haze

Almost a week from potting and they are starting to take. The seeds germinated 100% but a few of them didn't survive the first few days. I lose (3) [HB x CC] X Ak47, (3) ChemD x Ak47, (1) AK47, (1) SSH, (1) SSH x BB, (1) [G13 x NCDG] X NH. I did have three extra sprouts of SSH and Z11 X NH to repot.
I'm running a heating pad under the pots and the temp at the soil level is 80º.

This morning I replanted the seeds that didn't make it. I really want to grow out those AK hybrids and having only 2 of each was an invitation to a disaster as far as sex goes. ;)

The others are going great.

Little seedlings are looking good...were looking good, until I topped them all at the second or third node. Going to try for short, compact sativas.
Started a bunch of indica seeds (Afghani Dream x BOG Medley hybrid fems) that will end up outdoors in a month. I may not have a place for them but someone will.

Also I'm starting 10 seeds of a purple pheno [AD x BOG Med] x Neville's Haze. Not feminized, I will run these indoors until they sex and maybe turn a couple out to see how that works out too.

Sounds like some amazing strains you got there :) all the Neville crosses caught my attention. Will definitely be following your grow.

I do have seven or eight other grow logs here. One is from the Mr Nice Seeds Neville's Haze that I used to cross-pollinate these hybrids. Same with the blueberry and Super Silver Haze crosses. The AK47 I did grow out before (and logged here) but these hybrids and the F2 came from an on line seeds swap.

I've followed a few of your grows...the bubblegum was a good one too, but was still just learning so I never commented. Never saw the Neville haze one thou.... gonna read that now.

WEEK THREE

Sativas are looking ok after topping though some early leaves are nute burned from the hot soil. New growth is looking better. 32 total sativa seedlings. First light feeding of Fish emulsion, molasses and root innoculant.

20 total new indica seedlings in cups now.

Have been pumping out the grow room for the past week or more (flooding). In spite of the high humidity and low temps the T-5 fixture is keeping the plants at 80º without the heating mat. No sign of molds or mildew, I'm letting the plants go a little drier than usual between watering.

Problems... WTF, over?
I guess it wasn't hot soil after all. The new seedlings went tits up and they didn't have the same soil or any nutes. The older plants are going necrotic. I took the chance of emptying all the cups, dipping the roots in clear water and transplanting into new soil mix. Maybe they will recover enough to continue this grow.
I believe the problem is my Ph corrected water. I used hydrochloric acid, according to instructions on the web; 8 oz acid to the gallon of water. This put the Ph at 6.0. My tested says 6.0, I checked it with a reagent test and it agrees, 6.0. Hopefully I can get back on track with my usual 7.0 well water, which has served well in the past. Then I'll get out to pick up some proper Ph 'down' and try that out. Meanwhile, I've started 10 more Ak-47 seeds in the event that things don't turn around.

OK, over a week later and most of the plants have new healthy growth. Today I put 8 plants into 3 gallon bags and mixed and filled another 20 or more bags. I have a 2x4 T5HO over a bunch of younger seedlings and a 400 w MH over the 3 gallon planters. I have to re-arrange things before I transplant any more into bags. Probably looking to get another 400 watt light in there too. 30-50 plants to start and may see as many as 25 females in bags and pails so I'll need the second light if all goes well.

Plants are making a come back. There are about 47 seedlings all together. Mostly are topped and in 3 gallon bags and the rest are in 16 oz cups. Many different flavors. Some outdoor feminized indicas doing very nicely too.

I'm at week seven for the older plants and week two - three four the replacements. All the older plants are looking great and many of the younger plants are catching up.

Bad news...We've had the wettest Spring in history and I've been pumping the grow area out daily, if not twice a day. This morning I found the first plant with signs of p.m. I sprayed them all down with Safer fungicide spray (sulphur). I'll keep an eye out and I've increased the ventilation.

That was kind of a bitter - sweet post :):( A bit of good news and a bit of bad. I hope your weather picks up quickly and summer rolls in :cool:

Ok, it's been unusual for me not to keep a running photo journal but it's been rough going. Plants are settled in nicely, some are seven weeks old and some in the center of the grow area are only three to four weeks old. I hate to start looking for signs of sex on the earlier plants as I'm sure they are mature enough to flip. This is probably the most difficult kind of grow, a sea of green with a dozen different strains and ages. They are arranged six by six. I will be training the plants with a final trim and LST to keep things even and of course I'll be cutting the bottom branches (lollypop).

I took each plant fed and topped it and used sticks to help support them. The tap roots seem to be pretty shallow and the plants tend to fall when watered. I'll give them another week to recover from the topping before I flip them all. Most will be at week nine and a few replacement plants only at week five.
The SSH were particularly stretchy and were cut back to try and get the canopy somewhat closer to even. I took a couple of cuttings of it just to work on my cloning 'skills'.
Outdoor plants are looking great, too bad they are in an insecure place. I was hoping to gift some of them before they got going too big. They are feminized indica dominant hybrids.

I just finished up a small grow...Taking a break for a bit as I'm having a hip replacement next month...

Week 8 for most of the plants, four weeks for the substitutes. Many of the sativa doms were stretching out of control, even after the topping. So, I trip heavy and start week one of Bloom Cycle tomorrow.
Some of 'em look pretty skinny, after going through the stress of low Ph and trying to keep the 'subs' directly under the lights, to help 'em catch up. The older, sativas were stretching for the lights a lot. The root systems appear to be filling out nicely

Passive cool air intake above/left of the plants. Active canopy exhaust fan and small room exhaust fan fans 24/7. (2) 400 watt MH/HPS and a (4) lamp 4' T5HO side light.

Bloom Cycle day Six...

Amazing enough, but all the plants showed sex within 24 hours of each other. These are eleven different strains, some are 8+ weeks old, some are 4+ weeks old.
The good news is that there are only five males and 29 fems. I gifted two fems to an outdoor grower so I'm at 27 females. They are looking pretty good and I've topped a few stretchy ones and are LSTing them and some others.

Worked in the grow room today. Gifted out another fem so I have 26 left. I topped up each bag, trimmed more lower pin leaves and stems, LSTed what was getting too long and gave 'em all a shot of Bloom Week Two formula (GH MaxiBloom, AN Big Bud, and a drop of Superthrive. Rinsed them down and an hour later lights off. :D

Shovelhandle, killer plants for damn sure. Looks like you like the Haze for sure. I got 2 Purple Haze going on now, but im thinking they are going male on me, sucks. But those plants look nice and healthy and im sure smoke really nice.

How long did the Haze strains run for. I have my two outside and they got a late start, but look nice. I wanted a Male to cross the other for more seeds, but i may just need to pollinate something else. I have a few WW x Purple Haze in my tent i will use the pollen on if i dont get a fem. Stinks, cuz i wanted more Purple Haze beans.

But wanted to stop in for an ''ad a boy'' on your beautiful crop of plants!

yes, ok thank you for your kindness. Original Neville's Haze went 14 week. The first run of Z11 x Neville's Haze went 12 week. So something like that , on teh average. I have a few of them and they (haze) often don't finish together

BTW, I used NH male to cross with my Z11 for this hybrid.
