See you tomorrow, my friend. Sleep well and don't let those nasty dreams chase you during your sleep. Dream of soaring eagles and the candy store you loved to visit as a lad. :thumbsup:Quote:

The candy store was the place to be. They had them on every corner practically. Sadly, most are not in business any longer due to being able to buy candy anywhere these days. Another american icon that went to pot. ooo, I said POT! :stoned:Quote:

Haven't had one of those in years. I liked mine frozen. I don't know why though, they're hard enough to eat.Quote:

Comic book - 12 cents
tootsie roll pops - 1 cent
root beer - 10 cents
The other 2 cents I'd either keep or blow on a mitt full of bazooka joe.
We used to scrounge for returnable bottles at 2 cents each. Steady source of income on those days. :D
Are these figures adjusted for inflation?
Oh yeah, frozen are the best! I think when you freeze them, it makes it easier not to get all the gunk when they're unfrozen, in between your teeth. :jointsmile:Quote:

Taffy though.... Ever give a Star-Burst [citrus taffy] to a horse? Jesus that's funny! :S2:
dang... you all must really really be old! lol :D
That's OK though... you might all have wrinkles, no teeth, gray hair and creaky bones, but the experiences and knowledge you have gathered through the years makes up for any slowness, forgetfulness and well earned cantankerousness you might have these days. I am honored to learn from all you centenarians here on this board. Just don't tell all my young friends that I hang out with old people... I do have a reputation to maintain! ;)
Emmie

Although, from your point of view, I can see how you would think that. Remember, any Centenarian would have had to be born in 1911. Not sure there are too many on this board, let alone on the planet. Although, more power to the ones who are! Gives me great hope to make it there and beyond ... :stoned:

When I started doing this cigs were 35 cents, a loaf of bread was 19 cents and a gallon of gas was 25 cents...I could fill my hog up for less than a dollar!....the weed mostly sucked and you had to smoke an ozzie by yourself just to catch a minor buzz and it took an hour or more of steady tokin to even get that high (now it takes like 30 seconds?) ....I could get 5 pcs of candy for a penny, too....I always liked the sassafras hard candy for that price...hell, we still called root beer "sassparilla"....LOL! Startin to see why us old folks call them "the good ol days"? I used to buy 2 whole cartons of cigs for less than what a single pack costs now! Anybody else remember the strawberry soda pop?....the name escapes me right now...I chugged those when I got the munchies and cotton mouth...killed two birds with one STONE! LMAO! dam I'm buzzed...I remember when I was a kid and they raised the deposit on glass soda bottles from two to three cents...me and my running buddies figured we'd be rich from collecting those after such a big increase! Blew it all on strawberry soda, tho...:wtf:
