Should I dilute?

Hi first off I apologize for asking here again when i got a lot of answers previouse time I created a thread.

I have managed through a lot of effort to postpone my drugtest till now so it has now been 40 days and I dont know when the drug test will come but i am sure that it will soon within the end of this week or start of next week.

problem I have is that

1. I found this in one of the stickies about drug testing ( Erowid Experience Vaults: Cannabis Urine Testing - THC Detection Times in Occasional Smoker - 37341 ) where they count a faint line as false and i have gotten this faint line many times wheather i tested 50 or 25 nm assay/dip test, I dont think i have been testing positive and i know people in the previouse thread explained that the faintness of the line did not matter but anyway that site counted the faint line as fale and the more clear line as pass.

2. Should I bother diluting with all these facts? I mean i dont know exactly when i will get the test time or day so its difficult to keep yourself diluted all the time.

3. I know that thc is stored in fat cell and me being 5.8 and 185 am not exactly skinny nor have i had the chance to really work out and not knowing when the test will be now it might not be a good idea to workout either, but the thing is with thc being stored in fat does this mean any fat i have gained since i smoked will cover the fatcells with thc in them ensuring that they never go away untill the new fat is burned?

any thoughts on these 3 points will be greatly appreciated i have a lot riding on this job.

I will take a stab at this and say that exercising to the point of sweating is the best way to remove thc from you system. Unless I missed it you did not indicate how long it has been since you last smoked. If it was 40 days ago you should pass the whiz quiz by now anyway. I agree that it is not practical to dilute every day. Will you be watched or is it possible to use synthetic urine. If you have smoked recently this may be a good route to go.

No one here can accurately tell you when and if your going to pass a UA. Only a home test kit will give you the results you seek. Pick one up at Walgreen's or Walmart and test yourself using the first urination of the day, if you pass then you'll be fine without dilution to pass your lab test.

hi thanks for the reply, thats is correct I have now not smoked for 40 days so if test comes tommorow it will be on the 42nd day, before that I had smoked few extremely weak joints over a week probobly 0.5 g. and before that session 40 days ago I had only smoked a couple of months earlier.

the thing is every guide i read on getting clean doesnt recomend working out 2-3 days before your test because it increases the thc concentration and not knowing when mine will be i cant plan it, only thing i have been able to do is workout on a fridays and then be lazy sat/sunday.

for those not wanting to read my previouse thread that i linked i can recap and say about 3 weeks ago i first tested 50ng and it was clean with faint line, about 2 weeks ago I tested 25ng a couple of times and it was also clean with faint line each time. I have only 1 25ng strip left, also substitution is not an option :/

ok thanks for replying well like I Said i have passed a couple of home tests even with 25ng cutoff however what worries me is this which was posted in a sticky thread "http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=37341" most of the lines i got was as faint as the faint line that counted as fail in that experiment.

Ive tested Quick Fix synthetic urine with a test strip and got a faint line, so faint lines mean nothing. If the line can be photocopied or photographed and be visible seen by the human eye, then its a pass. Post a pic of your test on here and I'll let you know what I think.

As far as the study you read.... The author himself said this: "It must be noted that this is not a true controlled scientific experiment, it is merely provided as the results of testing for THC under real-world circumstances using a readily attainable ICA."

They also did not explain if the first urination of the day was used. This is a large whole in this experiment. THCA concentrations change throughout the day as an individual ingests fluids. That is why we recommend that people use the first void of the day, when THCA concentrations are at their highest.

thanks for offering to take a look unfortunately and as sad as it sounds in this day and age right now i dont have a camera availble and no cable to upload from my phone as I am not sitting at home, however I did the next best thing i could think of and I did an aproximation using paint.

most of the tests had the intensity of nr1 and 2, however 1 or two had the faintness of test number 3 but not in any logical order.

also they where all done using the first void of the day.

I know the test is not very scientific only 1 person done as well, its just their interpertation of the result of course I dont know who they are and if they are credible.

anyway I hope you can tell me what you think of the test line illustration.

I thought that report was sort of vague and possibly useless. I have read the stickys you pointed to and don't recall any specific information on working out causing your thc levels to rise.

A lot of the fat is probably removed with the sweat but we know for sure that fat cells are expelled in urine. If you work out wouldn't the fat cells carrying the thc leave your body when you urinate. Can you cause yourself to have a positive test when you otherwise would not have just by working out.

well the point about not working out before your test is not in that sticky but in the guides about dilution and getting clean the reason behind it is because the working out actually increases the level of thc in your urine since you are excreting more so if the goal is to get your thc level below cutoff then working out right before your test is not a good idea.

but about the sticky i posted I know it is kind of vague but still i thought i would get some further thoughts about it since i got so much riding on this.

Your freaking out here for nothing. You have passed three home tests, what more do you want? If your so worried then pick yourself up a bottle of Quick Fix and substitute.

A faint line is very common with a home MJ test because the cutoff (50 ng/ml) is very low. If you see the line, you're good. Don't worry. The home tests are very accurate, especially when done first thing in the morning with normal hydration.

ok thank you both for looking I just got the time it will be tommorow this time its definate :/ and i cant put it off any longer for good or bad, I will do my best to upload an actual picture of the test today see what you guys think of the real picture.

Anyway do you guys think i should dilute? I got about 20 hours till the test any way i can increase my chances without getting a definite invalid result?

boy I truly hope I pass this I think my heart jumped in my throat when I got the notice now, and out of sheer panic and the need to talk to someone I made the mistake of telling my wife and well yea if I dont pass this and keep my job I will be out, kids and job gone. ok ok I will quit ranting now sorry.

p.s I should add that the test will be on the 41st day after the first weak joint.

For even the heaviest of smokers, testing positive past 30 days is exceedingly rare.

I would make an attempt to be well hydrated, but if you're passing home tests you don't need to heavily dilute.

I'd say drink something like 24-36 oz. of sports drink starting 3 hours before hand. But again, if you're passing home tests you could drink nothing and be fine.

thanks for the info ok I will do the moderate hydration then drink a few soft drinks and hope for the best i guess at this time its all I can do. What about aspirin is that still recommended? I have read that it no longer has any effect.

Also I apologize to everyone for flooding this forum with 2 threads when there are so many threads on this topic this is simply due to the fact that I am not thinking very rationally at this time not having had any chance to talk this out to anyone ( not counting the major whipping i got from my wife earlier today ) your info and thoughts have definetly helped me keep it togather more or less.

Yes it is true. Aspirin was used as an interferant for only one type of test: the first-generation EMIT screen. A second-gen EMIT (aka EMIT II) was since introduced to counter the interference issues caused by aspirin. As a result, the first-gen EMIT is seldom used anymore (if, at all).

well damn anyway I didnt find any creatine so i wont be diluting too much I am already at it in fact, I will of course for good or ill post my results here hopefuly and the full history here and hopefully it will help someone avoid going through the hell I have been through the passt weeks I definetly think that I have developed a high blood pressure or something, just gotto keep it cool till the test is over and hope they give me an answer soon and not take weeks or I will be a nervouse wreck..

Aspirin doesnt create false-positives. Theres really no false-positives anymore.
False positives are eliminated when the urine sample undergoes a confirmation GC/MS. The GC/MS would distinguish between illicit substances and OTC/scripted meds.

Anytime fat cells burn, the stored THC metabolizes into THCA and is released back into the bloodstream, to where they are filtered by the kidneys and deposited into the bladder.

A sizeable portion of THC metabolites are excreted via the bowels, but B/M is not the preferred specimen type for drug analysis.
Very little THCA is excreted via sweat. You can sweat buckets, yet the amount of THCA being excreted will still be miniscule. The rest are being excreted via urine and bowels.

If a person still tests positive on a home kit (with the first days' void), then all fat-burning activities should be avoided and be as dormant as possible for 3 days prior to the U/A to avoid releasing a bunch of THCA into the bloodstream, which will end up in the urine to be detected.

hey guys I did the test with moderate dilution I drank vitamin B and peed vitamin yellow, the only problem is i did not have the chance to load up with creatine :/

anyway I peed 4 times after I wokeup early in the morning drinking lots of fluid till it was almost clear, when i got to work i quit hydrating and then peed another time 4 hours before the test and yet another time about 2 hours before.

I found out that they consider crea below 2mmol/L whatever that is to be diluted do you think that I made it when it comes to dilution or that I will definetly test invalid?

p.s I might add that I ate before the test if that has any effect.

Hey Burnt, how much B2 do I take when I dilute my urine hours prior to the test? And, do I drink 2 gallons of water and make sure I piss 10+ times before I take the test in order to pass it or do I drink more than 2 gallons?

Hi guys I just wanted to report that I passed :D will be staying clean from now I am simply not cut out to handle this level of stress heheh :D Also I would like to humbly thank everyone that helped me out here with advice and information for example Burnt Toast and Deige, your info and help meant ALOT to me.

Anyway to sum things up I tested negative on a urine test 42 days after smoking at 3 different occasions during 1 week.

Also you might have thought that I lived in the US seeing as how most people here are but no I live in Europe and i have to add that here I found out the cutoff level was 25ng for both assay and gc/ms

Do any of the major contributors like Deige, Burnt Toast or Webdocs see a problem with breaking down the dillution sticky to a set of simple steps so folks don't have to wade through some of the bad information to get to the good info. There probably needs to be a couple different versions like one for folks who know when they will be tested and one for folks who will be randomly tested.

Sample format for improving dillution sticky.

Example:
Immediately
1. Quit smoking
2. Quit exercising (or start or start then stop or whatever) <=feel free to weigh in here.
3. Start taking Creatine (how much and how long before testing)

Day Before Test
1. Vitamin B2 (or Vitamin B complex or whatever can be used and is easiest to obtain) (Is there any value in starting the B2 any earlier?)
2. Continue Creatine (How Much?)
3. Drink Liquids
4. Eat fatty foods and don't work out.

Day of Test
(Do you continue taking the creatine and B2 the day of the test?)
1. Pee first thing in the morning
2. Drink Recommended liquids (water, tea, cranberry juice, any juice or whatever)

Things NOT to do:
1. Exercise the day before and day of the test
2. Take Aspirin
3. Take B12
4. Drink Bleach

Please Note that this is just a suggestion on the format and not an actual how to!! I would appreciate those knowledgeable with the dillution sticky to weigh in and make edits or suggestions.

Someday the forum PTB will allow a staffer to edit IamN2pot's Dilution Sticky to remove Step 1 and renames steps 2-4 to steps 1,2,3 If I had a dime for every time someone has had to inform people to "skip that part it's outdated" I'd be well, you know...

The rest is basically timeless but I agree could use some simple aesthetic changes to the format to make it read better and make more sense to people.

This would only work as an edit because people have come here for years using that thread to pass. If we created a "new" dilution step by step, it would have to be continually bumped and would be confused with the "stuck" dilution thread.

I have no clue who owns this forum so I have no idea who to petition for this much needed change nor am I sure they would even allow such a change unless N2 OK'd it. I would love to see N2 return one day and polish the sticky up themself!

I guess the steps can't be added to the dillution sticky but I still think they could be referred to somewhere. People who don't read the sticky carefully might drink bleach or some other bad thing.
