Better days now on with Buds

Well im out of the problem section so i thought i would show whats going on now. I still have the issue of this growth coming from the stems that dyes off that i havent been able to figure out yet. But the plant is doing well as you can see as it has started to bud up nice for me. The first pic was the problem plant and its a NL#5. The other is a purple strain that was gifted to me after i was ripped last year and mine was taken. Thanks man. I got a bit excited after i saw how well some of them were doing so i put this one in under 12/12. I just wanted to bud this one up and work with some clones later with some of the purples iv been gifted.

But iv put in a lot of work into getting the NL healthy enough to flower her. As you can see, im getting some buds now and the plant is much more healthy so i thought id move over here. If you want any old info, you will find all of it in the problem section.

But here they are looking ok, but this is a temp set-up and space will be retired after the NL is done:hippy: The lights are 150w LED'S and im using Earth Juice. Any questions just ask,

Hey man, iv been meaning to email ya, but iv been busy. The cold hasn't helped me at all getting a seed popped and i never have this issue. I almost picked up a heat mat, but its going to warm up soon and with all the tools iv picked up the funds are gone. But good things to come i hope:hippy:

Everything is doing well, which is great to say for once after getting this plant healthy again. It has about 4 weeks id say, but il let the plant tell me when she's finished. Its still getting nice bud growth as it is all meeting up at the top with lots of growth in the middle too.:thumbsup: I think its liking the Earth Juice iv been feeding it weekly. I dont think iv seen a plant with as many white hairs covering the buds, but im not complaining. I cant wait for this thing to finish:hippy:i posted front, middle and bottom of the plant. I have a leaf here and there that has turned yellow, but nothing im going to worry about now. I have been giving just a bit of Nitrogen with the Bloom up till now. She seems happy with what iv been giving her, but im not used to using 5 gal pots so i get a bit freaked when i water/feed. Seems difficult to know when she has used what iv gave her. So im just giving till i get a good amount coming from the holes in the bottom and this has been working well so far. About a gallon a week, plus water in between if she looks thirsty.

The last 2 pics are of a Purple strain i had started, but then ran out of room in my veg box. The box now is full and i need the NL to finish for me so i can move my lights into the new grow space. Which il take clones and flower what i have in there:cool:

The purple as you see will get re potted next week and maybe sooner as it has been getting much bigger each day. You can see how much bigger it got since my last post. The only purple iv ever seen was the one that was stolen from me and some premo stuff on here, but iv never smoked any. That should change soon i hope.:thumbsup:

I think you should poke a few holes into the soil all the way down to aerate a bit - the lil droop kinda makes me worry about aeration in the root zone.

Thanks man! Took a long time to get her up to par, but its so worth it. I really like this strain and il be digging in for more of the NL#5's out from the mix of Skunk#1's and cross. I got 4 outta 5 girls from that mix and hoping for more of them for an all in tent Scrog as soon as i can. I might try to get a clone, but want a new plant fresh from seed to start with. Wish me luck as 3 good strains in one mix, cant lose really. But want the NL mom, because i got a small cloner now, which im thinking i can do a NL grow every other and il never run out:thumbsup: Thats the plan anyway:)

Well man im not real comfortable growing in the 5 gals, but i have a ton of perlite in there. And it was a bit droopy because it had not had anything for about 6 days to drink. But if it looks like that tonight il for sure take care of that. I am used to smaller pots or just outdoor, but now that inside is the place i guess im going to have to get used to it. This set-up is a temp thing to finish this plant up and the lights are not hanging ATM, but sitting on ends doing there thing well. Yeppers im running 2 150w LED BARS. They are incredible so far, but will work better when i put them in my tent. I have a few vegging under CFL's now in it. Its not a huge tent, 2 x 4 x 5', but im thinking a Scrog or some lollipop will work well in there. And i can be sure that i dont get ripped again, not that i wont hide a couple some place around a good hiding place. Plus i thought about keeping them really small, yet be able to get some nice colas from outside.

I have this plant in the problem section as it took a bunch to get this clone healthy enough to put into 12/12. It cam from the NL i had outside last year that got sick with something i never figured out, but took this clone before signs of the moms issues. Plus i had a mite problem, but wiped them out. I always thought if i got mite issue i would need to just control them, but the plant got fried a bit after a folier spray, which after cleaning up the dead leaves there were no sign of them. I used a few other methods before this which really helped, but a heater to lower the humidity and taking the very top of the soil off each week and replace helped i think too.

I will be posting new pic's soon and cant wait to finish her so i can work from the tent. This will be much easier for me and i cant wait to see these LED'S in there. If ya peek in the''problem section'', you can see how the lights are set-up for now, not enough room to hang them in the current area and the tents full of Purples:)

Well if you look at the third pic, i circled the issues i was worried about in the ''problem section'' and at this point im only worried that it will not allow the buds to fill up properly. This happen to the mother plant, but was much worse. As you can see im getting some color in there now so the buds are not just all white. The plant seems happy even tho the leaves are not pointing straight up because the lights are not hung over the plants. The are sitting on there ends with there fans on top also a fan in the area keeping them cool. It took so long to get the plant healthy enough to flower, i ran out of space above. But this is getting her flowered up well as you can see. I really hope they fill in more as the third pic shows my concern for nice compact buds at the end. I am hoping 3 weeks to go with 10 days after that il flush her out.

Now the 4th and 5th pics are the purple i put in 12/12 to give more room for the others. It will get re potted soon as it should have been done last week.

But the last soil i bought, i mixed with an amendment that my hydro guy said not to add nutes till flower. I was told to mix the 5 cups with 5 gallons of soil and it would get me to flower. So i am trying it out on 5 in veg now and 3 with the soil iv been using with the Earth Juice line. The NL is only getting the bloom for the most part, but meta-k about once every two weeks for the past month. I have stopped giving any Nitrogen to the NL, i had been giving small amounts once a week, i hoped this would help build the buds up, just hope im correct by doing this. The plant has been in 12/12 for 6 weeks now and i should think it has enough Nitrogen in it to get me through, i hope?

Im new to keeping a good nute schedule, but iv been giving a gallon a week to the NL and if its droopy, i give plan water. But for the most part it gets 1 gallon per week and seems happy with this so far. I need to put something into the pot or tie it up because its getting a bit unsteady in its pot. I could add more soil to help it, but i would like to re veg it and try it outside again this year and like the nice trunk it has. With its trunk i can keep it up off the ground, which will help keep snails off and i can use the foliage just above it to re veg it, if a re veg can be re vegged? I dont see why not, Rusty?

Ok i meant to say what im using in my soil as iv been told i dont need to feed till flower, its called Bio Tone.

Anyone use it? I have some with it and some without, it was my hydro guys idea. He uses it and really likes it, plus he gave it to me for free to try out:hippy:

I havent seen it on here being used or i missed it so if you have used it, id luv to know how well it treated ya:thumbsup:

Well the tops of the NL is getting bigger as you see in the second pic, which im call it my 3 headed monster, lol. The first is the NL plant showing all the bud growth from the bottom of the plant to the tops. Im hoping that the yellow leaves are just using up the nitrogen, because last two feedings was only the bloom nutes. And if you notice the leaves looking droopy, its because the lights are placed in the area vertically, because of height issues. They are sitting about 18'' away from the NL plant and the smaller purple a bit closer.

The purple was re potted for the last time and had to use the Bio Tone mix, because it was all i had. So it will only get water till finished, in less i can sneak in some bloom really close to the end. I think the Bio Tones N-P-K is
4-3-3, but hoping im not going to get that Nitrogen taste after harvest. Thats why im only giving water plain through budding. But Will see as iv not grown it before so im not sure how long it will take to finish. But as soon as the NL is done the purple will join the others in the tent to be finished.

The last pic is what i have been vegging, but had problems while they were in my box before getting into the tent. I had a 6500k flood light in the box which just made them stretch bad, but after i put my cfl lights in the box they slowed their stretching. But the damage was done, so i re potted as soon as i could and they look better, not perfect. But once i get the 2 150 w LED'S in there, i expect a lot:thumbsup: But this is all new to me so il be learning with this first tent grow, yet still expect a killer grow. Im just an optimist so i go into everything with this sorta thinking. I think its better to go in with a positive attitude, just my personal way of looking at anything. If i mess it all up, i will take the blame and learn from it. But im sure il be asking for advise at some point:D

The plants in the tent have been re potted two weeks ago and im seeing roots popping up through the soil. So a re potting will be soon for the ones in the black pots as they are all in the Bio Tone. The back left and green pot are getting the Earth Juice line of nutes. All are purple strains, but one which is a seeds from last years outdoor grow, its WW:thumbsup:. Its a trial thing even tho im using more plants in the Bio Tone then not:wtf:

I may try and fix up a Scrog, but need to be LSTing here with next re pot. I have added some soil to the pots to give me a bit of time in those pots so any roots will be covered. Well i think thats it, but any questions or ideas, please feel free:cool:

Hey man its been a while looks like its almost that time of the year, im going to give it another go this year. And try to have a good season but its still all outdoors.

you ladies are looking great im along for the ride.

The ones in full flower, you're gonna have to let them go as-is. The ones starting flower, start training them now. Either use some weights to train the branches or just bend them over until they snap. They'll heal in a week and roll out!

Accidentally did that to a blueberry in week 3 :( Plant didn't seem to notice it much tho! :thumbsup:

In the pic you can see a slight fold in the stem, I relaxed the training after the pop so it could heal better ;)


None the less, the wife is gonna kick my ass because there's resin all over the lens from trying to sneak the camera in for the shot!!!! :S5:

Oh yeah thats the NL plant im finishing along with the company of that purple which has been in 12/12 close to a month to retire that grow space. The purple will fit in the tent to finish with the others shown in that pic. The ones in the tent are sitting on a box vegging under cfl's. I thought id top or lollytop and even maybe sog the two taller ones to get a even cannopy as the others are pretty close in size. The back left plant is perfect to get 5 clones for my 5 site cloner. Thought id veg em while these finish to have something to go in next. Of course id change strains after that run so i dont get to used to it. Summer will be here so i thought id get clones from one outside for 3rd run. I think you see where im going with this.

Yeah im thinking il have about 3 to 4' after the 12/12 stretch to finish them. That only gives me a foot of space so i better get on the LST. The purple in bud is close to ending its stretching, but after i flip the tent, i have a feeling its going to fill up fast. Well 7 plants at about 1-2' flipped could give me the room, but might not give me the yield? But you said my tent was real good to match up with my lights:thumbsup:, i cant wait man. I have bent my outside plaints, helps uptake big time. The tall one's will snap, because iv got bark on the two tall ones, but weights are a great idea:thumbsup:

It will probably come down to what is going to be the cheapest, which if i had a screen, id try a scrog or part of the tent scrog with the others sitting on something to even it out in there. But like i said, i want a nice yield.

I think the lights should do better in the tent, which gets me pumped after what its doing to the NL and Purple. I think 2 weeks for the NL and 4-5 for the purple. Then flip the tent with the purple already started and the rest in there, only with the LED's hung proper:wtf:

I noticed roots popping up through the soil of the pots in the tent and i just re potted them 2 weeks ago:wtf:. So i just up potted a bit and hope to be able to hang in these pots till a few days before the LED's are in the tent. Its the Bio Tone i think, i only need to give water, the stuff is great and is what my hydro guy uses. One cup per 1 gal of soil and water till second week of flower, nice.:)

If anything i sure will be bending and lots of LST. Thanks again guys:thumbsup:its feels great to get some input, i havent grown one since summer and ya know where that went, shit, lol. So many options, id like another tent for clones to veg in, that would work out well:jointsmile:

Yeah not much man just trying to get ready for spring, i wish i could grow indoors i would have did that last year, but no can do this year but when i get a new place i will give it a shot.

There has been a lot of good bud going around, sometimes i find a couple seeds in an oz so i have been saving them. Now i have a few diff strains of some good bud even if its only bag seed, i plan on buying some better seeds once i get a few grows under my belt.

Dude,.... you've got to at least TRY Scrog! I've run a side by side, and the canopy of the SCROG wound up shading the lower branches of the natural plant :( I even moved the natural grow up some so it could get better light down low.

Both did well, but finished the SCROG took the day,.... I'd have to do separate area's to be done right tho, and I can't do that with my equipment and space. :(


As for budget,... Natural all the way. Ease of grow,... again Natural all the way! :hippy:

I'm fortunate that I'm using a fixed solid walled room in my grow, so I can just staple the screen to the walls, if using a tent tho you have to come up with a frame to support the screen in addition to the cost of the screen. At least setting up the screen is a 1x cost ;)

And the benefit of SCROG,.... IMHO outweighs the additional labor, and initial setup cost ;)

Dude after seeing your scrog and Finn's, i flipped when i saw the yield of only a few plants. I am still unsure as to which way im going, but would like to split the tent up, maybe and try that scrog. My lights will go in before the end of the month, so iv got to make up up my mind. I could put the scrog under 4 plants, which are in the middle of the tent and lollipop the 2 that stretched a bit to much when they were in my retired veg box. Just a thought. But im unsure how difficult it will be for me to tie everything up, but im not afraid to try:hippy:never have or i wouldn't be chatting with you bro:thumbsup:

My tent is 4' x 2' x 5', which im thinking after taking clones from the back right plant, il have enough space. The lollipopped 2 shouldn't take up to much space as if i bend them, i might as well just snip them off, because they are really hard to bend. But the weight idea could work, but only have 12 days for that to work. Although leaving the weights there through flowering would work i think, its a great idea iv never seen.

How much room did you use for your scrog? I think i read it, but not sure now. And if i do scrog, what should i prepare myself for? I have grown a few plants, but mostly outside:cool:and grew with CFL'S, which are under rated IMO, great for noob's if they control the heat. Heck my first indoor, i even used pre-ferted soil and just used plain water through the entire grow, it turned out killer. But this needs to be bigger and better as i think each grow should.

Dude im using Bio Tone and luvin it:thumbsup:. One cup per one gallon of soil. My hydro guy uses it and gave me 5 cups to do a test run so the only get water till around 4th week of flower. Its all he uses and a 10lb bag is 10 bucks. So far its working great as 4 of the 6 in the tent have it and iv only given water so far. And all organic! But will see in bud:thumbsup:

Your right about the one time cost and wood for a frame. Do you remember the gage of wire you used? Only because im not messing with the chicken wire as i know you had a tough time at harvest with it and what your using now looks like its easier to work with:thumbsup:

He told me to just give water till 2nd week of flower, but i did run into a problem. I re potted outta the party cups, which had been put off for good reasons. They went into 2.5 liter pots and two weeks later, i had roots showing on top of the soil so i just added soil to cover them. I am hoping to get through 9 days before a re pot to 1 gallon pots. Which i think is way to small, but he thinks that i can get through flower with them, im thinking at least 3 gallon pots to get through without a re pot in flower?

No I haven't but I have always like the idea of providing veg nutes in the soil. It just seems so much easier IF you can get the right balance. I've been afraid of it though judging from others experience with MG soils.

Espoma makes a number of Tone products. You are likely familiar with Holly Tone. I believe you are using the Starter Plus product. See: Espoma-Bio-Tone-Starter-Plus-4-3-3

I would do 3 gallon pots but it depends on how tall / long you plan to veg them. You know the rule of thumb - 1 gallon / foot of plant.

I will be finishing up the NL and then to the tent in a week or so. The plants above thats in the tent will go 12/12 as soon as LED's are in place. And yeah the links are the same, its the Starter stuff. He thinks i can finish in a gal container, but im getting 3 gal pots. Some are over a foot and my tent is only 5' so i dont want to run outta room.

I look at the plant and figure 50 percent above and 50 below and iv already covered roots popping out from the top. Every plant but two have the Bio Tone in them and was told by the hydro guy to re pot them in it to flower? Im not sure il do this, but may try one or two, just to find out if its going to affect the taste. Of course id flush them well. I read that a person using organics should not have to flush, but will see about that. I am testing the shit outta this stuff. So il have a report for ya man:cool:

I would worry about running this through flower. I don't think it matters if it is organic or not. Fert is fert... I'm interested to b sure.
