I am a 30 year old male about 5'6 130 lbs. I recently received word of a Job offer for a position paying more than i've ever made in my career. However, I have to pass a drug screen (UA). My story goes i stopped smoking after the interview i had with this company at the beginning of November. The type of company it is, i knew i was going to be drug tested, but the worst of my fears (HAIR TEST) had been put to rest. So I went the entire month of November not smoking except for a few pulls on the weekends, when i knew they weren't going to call. I figured that since i wasn't smoking regularly it should clear my system fairly rapidly. Finally after over a month of waiting they called me, offering me the position! BUT i had been smoking the whole weekend before of some good weed that had me nodding out! I was shitting bricks! I had given up on the position because i thought they didn't give it to me, it turns out they were just slow about getting back to me. What's more, they were now offering me more money than they initially offered! :jawdropper: There was NO WAY I WAS LETTING THIS JOB GET AWAY FROM ME! This job will allow me to solve 99.99% of my problems in life. So I got word of the offer on a tuesday. I conveniently told them i was out of town but would cut my trip short. I had a week's time to take the test. here is the break down:
Tuesday- I smoke a quarter of a blunt, and got the word of the offer. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED SMOKING and started drinking water and taking a herbal supplement cascara sagrada that makes you have bowel movements, along with raisin bran cereal. Needless to say I spent hours with bubble guts on the toilet.
Wednesday- More cascara sagrada raisin bran and water, more bowel movements.
Thursday- The same as Wednesday. I took a home drug test for THC that i had, FAILURE! So i upped the water and cascara sagrada.
Friday- I went and bought three home drug screens from the drug store. In addition to starting to jog and jump rope in an effort to speed up the detoxing process. I kept doing the cascara sagrada and water and fiber.
Saturday- Jogged, did the cascara sagrada, started drinking gatorade and started eating beef, to prep for the dilution process. I took a home screen I passed!
Sunday- More Jogging, and cascara sagrada, more gatorade. ate more beef for dinner and even bought some time release nicotinic acid (500mg) made sure to wash them down with gatorade and water. I took about six of those over a period of 5 hours before going to bed, I passed the second home screening right before going to bed.
Monday- The day of the test at Lab Corp. I drank some gatorade, keeping the water to a minimum in fear of a dilute result. i DID NOT TAKE AND NIACIN the day of the test. But i made sure i peed like 2 times before i took my final home screen ( a 5 panel drug test- but i only smoke pot) and i passed it. Before going to the testing site, I peed a MINIMUM of three times! I took two centrum multivitamins and two aspirins. And peed again.
At the testing site, I was told to give about 40 mls of urine, I gave my sample mid stream. I could have EASILY substituted because it was in a room unobserved, although they did have blue toilet water. I was told not to flush. Gave her my sample and she gave me some papers.
I've had the experience of overdiluting my sample and get a call the next day saying i had to give another sample. It's been about 2 + days now (Wednesday) and i still haven't heard anything back from either my future employer or labcorp. Im assuming no news is good news. I will update with my outcome as soon as i find out.

The thing is, youve passed all those home tests because of the fluids youve consumed. The herbal supps and the niacin had nothing to do with it. By consuming the fluids, you have managed to dilute the THCA concentration that was present in your bladder to where the urine sample registered below the cutoff thresholds of those home tests. You wouldve passed those tests anyway just on the fluid-loading alone and without the herbs and niacin to go with it.
There is no product, nothing that can permanently rid the body of THC except for time and fat-burning exercise.

And complete with references to L. Ron Hubbard, the father of the Scientology movement. If youve expanded your research a bit, you would discover that Hubbard was a crackpot with no medical training whatsoever, charges $20,000 to join his sect, advocates total silence during childbirth, and claims (along with his chief minions Tom Cruise and Brooke Sheilds) that niacin can cure anything from sunburns, to post-partum depression, to toxic-shock syndrome.
And all this from a group of wackjobs that also claim frequent forehead pats can "rid ones mind of demons"..:rolleyes:
Is this the kind of source youd want to place credence upon in order to pass a U/A?
Cannabis users that have careers, families, and freedoms hinging on outcome of a U/A deserve better.
And another thing: the article itself makes no specific references to THC. Theres a mention of "toxins". Anyone who had done their research on THC would understand that THC is non-toxic, therefore, it is erroneous to label THC a "toxin". These niacin proponents need to spend more time researching THC and how the human body processes THC ...and less time trying to perpetuate a debunked myth.
And anyone who had done their research on how the human body processes THC would understand that the rate limiting step in THC elimination is not the size of the blood vessels. It is the bodys Glomerular Filtration Rate. GFR is the rate of which the kidneys filter THCA from the bloodstream. The use of niacin has no effect on GFR and neither does drinking large amounts of water.
Finally, taking more niacin than the recommended 15mg amount can have some serious health consequences:

Niacin does not do a thing to expedite THC unloading. Having bigger vessels does not equal quicker THC metabolite removal for reasons stated here many times. This has been debunked ad nauseum here. We stick to the truth. Not anecdotes. You would have produced the same exact test result if you had swapped the niacin for tic tacs. Please also remember aspirin is no longer needed and you only need B2 no other vitamins. Next time if you want to do yourself a favor replace the niacin with creatine. Now THAT is something that will help you pass a drug test. GL.

But you were a wee-bit quick to quote an article containing junk science originally brought on by some crackpot more than four decades ago. And in a rather defending manner, I may add.
And personal experience doesnt mean diddly-squat. If everything in the world were to be based upon "personal experience", it would be a pretty sad existence. In the drug testing forum, we tend to stick to factual info and proven methods to pass a U/A, instead of nutcracker magic from L.Ron Hubbard and the rest of the minions of the Scientology movement.

well obviously there was some information in my post you felt was worth attacking and discrediting for whatever reason. I don't care how you feel about nutritional supplements or Scientology. I'm not a Scientologist. You are someone who obviously trolls these boards looking for a fight to pick. Maybe you need to actually smoke a J instead of getting all up tight about my post. Chill the fcuk out dude! I put my experiences out there, I gave you sources of my information. You went for the jugular. You think it's junk science, GREAT! You think its ineffective, GREAT! Why don't we just stop allowing people to post their experiences and let you create a single "STICKY" telling people only time and exercise will allow people to pass a drug screen. How about you post some references to these studies you are referring to INSTEAD OF going on tirades about nutritional supplements, Scientology and Junk science. He wasn't "going for the jugular", he was just pointing out parts of your story story that were not correct.... as a a regular user of these forums you'd think it would be right for him to identify false information rather than let other people read it and waste their money on niacin and other detox myths.

Burnt toast came out calling me some kind of Scientologist. I am the most unreligious person you could possibly meet. I take offense to that. So you disagree with some of the information i posted, i can deal with that. But to effectively label me some kind of fringe religious nutritional supplement lunatic is uncalled for.Talking about i added that link in a defensive manner. I copied an excerpt from the site i posted the link to. How is that being defensive? I don't need any bungholes acting like a psychopath because i posted my experience. From the way burnt toast is acting, i'd say he is some kind of Christian fundie. And for webdox you can get to stepping if that's how you feel! I promise you i won't loose any sleep tonight. If you want to get down to brass tacks, the fact that i have a low body fat percentage, and a high metabolism probably did more for me than drinking all the fluids i drank. I wasn't saying that my method worked, I was just sharing the same as all the other people who shared their experiences on the boards, unless you harangued them and coerced them to redact their entries. He in no way shape or form called you a scientologist. He simply stated that you were quoting the information of one(an uneducated one at that). We do understand that you are posting your experiences and that is fine... Stick to that. We are hell bent on posting factual information here in the drug testing forums so that no one ends up standing in the unemployment line or worse... Jail. We have nothing against you personally so just let this go and go on with your life. You are fighting a losing battle here.

Its not that I think your quoted article is junk science. Its not just my opinion. It isn't hard to find that Hubbard started this myth. Use your favorite search engine and type in Hubbard niacin and you get 1000's of hits. Here are some. The first one is one of his websites so you can see his original claims on niacin. Also, Narconon is a drug rehab program funded by the Scientology movement who frequently touts the "vasodilation" claims shown on the healingdaily site.
