I'm a new grower starting in hydro, I had my plants @ 24/0 then I switched it to 14/10 to initiate flowering. It's been two weeks and no sign of change. Is this light cycle not going to flower them? Should I change it to 12/12? Any input?

I'm sort of a beginner but have done enough reading.
The what I know you are supposed to have lights at 12/12 (on/off) for flowering.
yes, I have read alot too, from this site and others as well as books. But in this hydroponic guide I found online said that even though it's ideal for 12/12 when uve had the plants in veg for 24/0 that it's better for them to be put into flowering with a 14/10 cycle... Just looking to see others thoughts thank you...
I would assume there would be some change with the 14/10 cycle you are using and I am sort of shocked that there is not.Quote:

In the upper right hand corner do you see the scales icon in my posts (or anyones posts for that matter)? Click it and see what happens! :thumbsup:Quote:

Big Bud will flower at 14/10,but to really initiate flowering would be 12/12.You will only make them get taller.with sparse budding. They grow more in the dark.:thumbsup:Quote:

so changed my lights to 12/12 and now I'm crossing my fingers because I'm running out of space lol
Glad to hear you switched it up. I want to see the what results you get after your 2 week longer days period. :weedpoke:Quote:

With my previous grow when i was waiting for sex confirmation from the youngsters in 18/6 period, two older females already started flowering (4th week or 5th). I think its more depends on plant then light cycle.
ok, well I'm going to wait and see what this 12/12 light cycle does for my plants and go from there, thanks for the info
Were you using Autoflowering seeds on that grow? If so, if I am not mistaken, the light conditions would have had nothing to do with the flowering stage ... it happens by the plants age with auto's right around the 4th or 5th week. ;)Quote:

I don't know but i don't think they were. I used bag seeds with combined spectrum CFL's. Their size were same with the others, not short like autos.Quote:

Do a search on here for auto flowering seeds. Or you can Google it. Remember ... Google is your friend. :google:Quote:

yea, that's why I asked to see if there were seed banks some1 has tried that is a sure thing, because I'd hate to expect a shipment and be robbed by a fake site or something
