Somebody knows too much about your habits or actions, huh?
Real bummer. Blame it on the failure to pass Prop 19. Carry heat and fuck it, cut loose on the first MFer who tries it again. Need a shotgun rider now days. If you let loose with 00 buck, everybody will duck!! :(
Thinking on this some more I realized you need to come up with some sort of safety measures. For instance, if you had some back up waiting to move in before the delivery occurred it might have saved your meds, but could have gotten deadly which needs to be avoided at all costs if at all possible.Quote:

I'm sitting here just soooo freaking pissed off  that people exist that do these things to others. It just makes my blood boil even though I don't know you personally ... but at any time what happened to you can happen to us and the outcome might not be the same.
you can't put yourself in a situation like that. public places are a must and there are plenty of creative places in public to make the transaction. a remote spot is just way too dangerous, and, you got to make sure your contacts are trustworthy and never do the deal with someone you haven't met yet. always meet the other party before the transaction. i've called off transactions based on the vibe from the preliminary meet and greet. never been busted in 40 years.
Peace love and

Well put! :thumbsup:Quote:

I never go anywhere without my "protection".
How do I feel about gun control? Break into my house one night and find out.
WTF is wrong with people? Seems were heading back to the dark ages. I would have been shot. Some people suck.
Sorry
Thats exactly why I support guns. Me and my wife both have a permit for concealed carry. We have at least one piece on each of us at all times. Its even worse if you break into my house. Anyways... I wish peace for everyone but that doesnt mean I wont protect myself.
Shooting at the range 1-2 times a week is actually calming and fun.
By no means should any one of us be unarmed in times like these. Not worth your life.
Times are terrible.
:gunfighter2: <--- RH when an unwelcomed visitor shows up ... :rastabanna:Quote:

but to all those people saying he should have been carrying a gun, thats not a good solution. if he had had a gun, we would have been reading in the newspaper today that marijuana caused the deaths of 2-5 people because a transaction went wrong and people started shooting wildly. thats really not the type of atmosphere we need to cultivate with marijuana. treat it like it's a respectable medical substance, not an elicit drug. then people will have a more positive image of marijuana, and we will get closer to legalization.
My wife and I also have permits to carry. And we do.
I asked my atty once what about the worse case ... should I carry if I'm delivering, etc. He said that if what I am doing is legal, then defending myself is not illegal. Doing something illegal and COMPOUNDING it with a firearm is a very bad thing. But, doing something legal and DEFENDING yourself or a family member if you fear that your life is in danger or you are in danger of being severely injured is not, in and of itself, illegal.
Very few people even know I'm armed. I don't brag about it, or wave it around, etc. I have only had to point it at another human once in my life, and I've carried for decades. In that situation the aggressor backed down - just in time. I retreated. It upset me greatly as I had a spot picked out center chest; and was in the process of squeezing when he backed away. I truely believed it may have saved my life.
I kind of like rattlesnakes. I like the way they conduct themselves. They mind their own business, warn you not to mess with them, and defend themselves with deadly force only if necessary.
Don't tread on me.
Great post ohnoyadont.
To all the people who dont support guns like the above post. I bet you will change your mind if you were in a situation with one pointed at you.
It can be explained perfectly when its someone else in the situation. Put yourself in a deadly situation and you will want every advantage possible.
I live in Portland and it is one of last last chill places in the USA. I feel for you but you should really know who your dealing with. You have to remember times are rough and those few pounds paid rent for a few people. Know who you deal with your lucky your not dead. Plus your in california sell your shit at the clinic.Quote:

idk if it helps (or if required) but i do have my handgun safety certificate (even though i dont own a handgun currently)...got it earlier this year.
i do own protection legally that i keep at my grow and at my home...for defense against home invasions...and robberies at my grow spot.
you'd think since mj is so widespread in cali now especially with all the 215 and even the attention prop 19 generated that robbers would be less of a factor but its just the opposite...its gotten worse.
in my opinion its illegal dealers trying to capitalize off of 215 by simply answering an add offline...meeting up with them...and robbing them.
i think i/we need to follow a routine my buddy uses and he's never ran into any issues with robbers...at least not successful attempts...
my friend works through CL and has to meet strangers all the time who claim they have a card...im pretty sure he pre-verifys even though i didnt bother to ask.
anyway what he does at transaction time is never give the robber a chance to rob you. if this makes sense...you'll need either a friend w/ u or to meet far from where you park your car...
he meets with buyer in a public place.
shows buyer a sample of what he's getting (he said he brings a few grams to them upfront to show them).
then if the buyer is interested he takes buyers money...walks off...
5 mins later comes with w/o the money but with the buds...
gives buds to buyer...
walks away.
he just told me this yesterday and its made me wonder about using this method. he said it works for him. id assume that by doing business this way it cuts down on the chances someone will successfully rob you because they aren't in a position to have the $$$ and the buds in reach at the same time...
worst case scenario is he gets off with the few gram sample...no biggie.
i wanted to try this but wanted someone else's opinon first..
CCW in California is up to the local top cop. It can be issued by DA's, Chief of Police or Sherriff, (or a judge I suppose). In my area, the Chief of Police has issued about five permits in his career. The Sherriff has issued THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS. I'd be willing to bet that one out of five of our citizens are armed at any given time. Result? We are polite to each other, and have a very low crime rate.
Our sherrif believes that a person who is trained and is not a criminal should be able to defend himself. He requires a two day course in safety and legal use of deadly force - and a four hour refresher every two years. A DOJ background check, fingerprints, and an interview with one of his officers. The first permit takes about three months all total, costs about $500 total. Two year renewals cost about $120 after that.
We are a relatively rural and large county (Shasta County), and there may be as few as two patrol cars to cover thousands of square miles. I may have to fend for myself for an hour before police assistance can even get to me code 3. An hour's worth of ammo ...
The short answer to your question: it is up to the top cop in your area. You need to call and ask. If you live in a socialist utopia area (Berkeley, San Francisco, Oakland) there is NO way you are going to be allowed to harm some poor guy that's trying to rape you - he may have had a bad childhood after all ... but, my permit from Shasta County is good anywhere in California - even Berkeley. Though I can't imagine why I'd want to go there.
I remember when I had got my first apartment, it was awesome! I was in the house sleep, I guess some dick thought he would be funny and break in. well I was sleeping in my living room I heard my lock on my door turn I reached under my couch grabbed my shot gun, just has he came in, he went out asap. I put a slug in his sternum. I watched him get up slowly and stumble down the stairs. I was terrified! I actually shot a man. After about 2minutes time passed I snapped back into reality and and followed him. To my amazement this dude took off his vest and ditched it. He was my landlord! So I took another shot at him. Missed my stock just broke and my shoulder got dislocated. I watch him hit a alleyway that I was to familiar with, it connected to my back window. I ran back in the house grabbed my .45 and exited my back window there we saw each other, he shouted he was sorry. I told him to lay down and put his hands behind his back and called the police. lol they came and saw what I had instead and arrested me! Of course I don't have a license to conceal and carry. I got out but I pressed charges on him. Bummer a blue chrome .45 I got from my granddad. I'll never see again.
The purchase of a firearm requires the applicant to swear that they are not users of illegal drugs, including Cannabis. You either lie, or you can't buy a gun.Quote:

I'm glad nobody got hurt. If you were armed, who knows?
I live in one of those social utopias. CCP's are almost impossible to get. On the good side a fellon with a firearm is an automatic 5. No parole.
In our utopia, if someone it threating you, and you are in fear for your life, at home, ie. rape you.... that's a good shoot. Empty the gun.
On the other hand, if somebody is in your crop, you can't just blaze away til you hit them...you will go to jail.
Over the years I've been ripped off many times. Always give someone enough rope to hang themselves. Small amounts.
And yes, I have had a gun pointed at me. If I had a gun, and the chance to use, it I would not have. It just isn't worth killing for. Its a Plant. I can make more. I knew as soon as I handed it to him he was gone. Cops caught him hours later.
And then there is satisfaction. I live on an Island. You can hide, but you can't run. There is nothing like the look of realization, on some idiot that ripped you off's face, when you false crack them, while they are sitting at a stoplight in Kahalui.
This has been argued many times, and in many forums. It IS a personal decision: we all get to decide if we are victims or not. Some people actually like being victims.
When someone points a gun at me - no matter where I am - I assume that I am in danger of being killed. My decision is to take the decision of my life and death away from the person assaulting me. That's me. Your decision is that your life is not "worth killing for". Up to you - you know the value of your life better than I do.
I hope that I never have to defend myself to that extent. I would never use deadly force to protect property - it is illegal in California and (I believe) morally wrong. You're right - I can grow more. But, I can't grow another life - that is irreversable.
fukin hell man...unlucky :(
first thing you do now is get your concealed weapons license. personally i suggest a .45 or a .357. you want something big enough to fuck em off if they get stupid, and intimidating enough so that as soon as you pull it they bail. keeps you from wasting shots that way, ya dig? second, ALWAYS run at least 10 deep doing big deliveries. anything over a LB. and go in at least 2 cars and keep spaced out so they can back you if you do get blocked up. as far as the meeting place, choose a place that's public enough to keep anyone from doing anything rude or stupid, but is private enough for you to get away with the swap. and i know its common sense, but not everyone has it, so ima post this in case some one else that doesn't know can see it. DO NOT DEAL WITH PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW OR DON'T THINK YOU CAN TAKE IN A CONFRONTATION. im just saying here... :smokin:
our local sherrif recomends we carry on all deliverys, we live in an open carry state so no ccp is required. each grow room is stocked with a fire-arm in plain site, our dispensary is also staged with tazers and .44's. come if ya like but remain civil, respectful and dont forget, we have the right to defend ourselves and we will exercise our rights.. HB
Hey weeddaddy, man im sending good vibes your way, I got beat down and robbed a few years back, and a friend of 7 yeas set me up.
worst feeling of my life.
you need to think about this. if there criminal enough to pull a gun on you and steal your pot why would they let you live to hunt them down. statistics show that 25% of all roberies involving a gun and drugs legal or illeagle the victum is shot even when he/she co-operates and in some comuntities its even higher and remember mmj at best is a grey area so self preservation is more important then the thugs trying to get you. i have been ripped of a crop thank God i was not at the site so i didnt have to make the choise to shoot or not(i would have) but im glad i didn't have to make that choise.Quote:

Second, Always meet in a VERY public place, I kind of lean towards McDonalds or some such, because you can arrive a little early, have a cup of coffee and scope out the surroundings. Also there are Always people around, which is a big plus.
I Insist that only one peason is to show up for the transaction. If I see more than one pearson, or it looks like there are some others who are a little too interested in me or my customer, then I'm gone.
The best way is to only deal with people you know, although that is not always possible
Check ID and MJM credintials away from your vehicle,. Only when you are convinced that they are verified, and that the surroundings look good and nobody else is interested in you, then go ahead. In this case, paranoia is a virtue.
So very sorry for your misfortune. There are evil people out there.
Remember: Even the Paranoids are right sometimes.
It works for me.
Have any of you..." I have a concelled weapons permit"... people ever had to pull your gun and actually fire at someone whos firing a weapon at you:wtf:
If your not cool under preasure..youll probably end up shooting yourself while trying to quickly remove the weapon from its holster...then youll be lucky to hit what your shooting/aiming at:wtf:
Miltary personal & Police officers who train for this type of action find this out:hippy:
I dont care if you have a gun on your person.... if someone has the drop on you... good luck getting yours out before he gets a few rounds off in your direction...hopefully hes not a good shot
If your getting ripped off.... your not conducting yourself in a professional manner ....you must be dealing with crimianl elements...making risky deals with people you dont know
do you remember where you buried him?
