Sounds like ya got a bit of stretch there. How far away from the plants are your lights?Quote:

ok good. keep 'em there to keep from stretching anymore, and just keep propping them up untill they stand on they're own. Might be able to add more soil too...but not tooo much tho.Quote:

Do you have a fan?
If you dont mind me asking. Why are you switching from florecents to hid? you might as well keep them under the florecents and spend your money on some hps lights.(FOR FLOWERING) Hid/cfl/tubes are meant for vegging,(depending on the light color spectrum)
keep your lights close to the tops of your plants and those lights should be just fine. And add a fan to your grow, It will add some stability to your plant. (Imo) if your a month in and the plant cant stand on its own.
Dont waste any more time get rid of those start again, and this time do a little more research before your next grow. Because its not the plants fault you didnt know what you were doing.
I dont belive in plant abortion.
And add a picture next time:thumbsup:
I disagree, I made the same mistake myself when I was new to growing and I did exactly as I instructed beefyberg to do and they eventually came out just fine.Quote:

I was helped out by a member here, and he never once layed blame either.
That's why I clearly stated. "in my opinion". :rastasmoke:
A High pressure sodium is a high intensity discharge light. Some people like to start there seedlings or clones under cfl's or fluro tubes. Then switch to a HID light which would be a HPS or a MH bulb. You can also just start your clones or seedlings under a HID MH bulb then for flower just switch to a HPS bulb or run them both!Quote:

HID gives both. Maybe someone needs to breed specific plants to grow teensy under CFL's. I use fluorescent lighting.....for my clone tray and my seedling tray, because it is not too much until they harden off. I change my $100 vegetation bulb every 3 months to prevent stretchy vegetative growth.
You get what you pay for. Been there, done that. I feel you spend even more on CFL's in bulbs and amperage to get the same result with one convenient light fixture.
Don't mis-understand me, there are applications, I am not condemming, just not a fan of CFL for growth or flower.
Yes, get that seedling 1-2inches from the bulb and don't over water it.
Adding a fan will help also. Having a breeze blowing on the plants will beef up their stems big time.
I've had a fan the whole grow.
and i am switching to a 150w HPS light.
I would try to get up to 250 minimum. They make ballast and reflector in one unit at that size.
The Mini Sun Light is a 150w High Pressure Sodium Complete System. Its vented ballast housing allows heat dissipation and a powder coated finish provides moisture resistance. It features a highly reflective imported hammer-tone Alumabrite insert and includes back-lit on/off switch. The Mini Sun Light is also equipped with an 8' grounded 120v Power Cord and E-26 medium base socket. It includes a C .A .P . 150w bulb with 16,500 lumens . Measures 15.25'' x 7.5'' x 4.25''.
Thats what im getting.
Bump a PISS-ANT post,Quote:

You can't make this shit up, from not knowing shit, to an expert in less then 2 months. AND WANT'S SOMEONE TO DO MORE RESEARCH!!! ROFLOL!:D
I particularly like how this person thinks an HID light is somehow different than an HPS...For some silly reason I always thought an HPS WAS/IS an HID...but I could be wrong....he he he I think I need to do more research! LMAO!
hey guys.. another question. When should i start to 12/12 if i want roughly an oz/oz and a half yeild? the seed was either bubba kush or deep purp. Its currently about 5 weeks growing and 8 inches tall.. any help would be awesome. thanks
For starters, it's not the newcomers that we have a hard-on for. We are not paid to come in here and hold the newcomers hand through the growing experience. We do it because we understand the medical necessity of cannagardening, and that some in our community need the assistance.Quote:

Oh, and perhaps you should go and re-read your spelling and grammar errors before spouting-off about someone else needing a dictionary.
I have reported your abuses to the mods. Good luck.
Since "somebody" didn't care for grow sites and had no respect for others I showed the way to the door......if there are any others please review the vid.

Just a shame that the original thread, started by Drudown11 titled "starting to get fed up" seems to have been yanked. I thought I had a pretty good rant there.
I apologize Pyshco4Bud for my part in the fray.

How much headroom do you have to play with? Do you have the vertical height available for a 5 or 6 foot plant?
