Im growing an autoflowering himilayan blue diesel regular seed and its 2 weeks old, should i be able to define the sex at this stage, if not when will i be able to tell? the main stem looks white im not sure if this is normal, ive uploaded a picture im not sure if you can see what i mean about the stem, help would be much appreciated, cheers. :rastasmoke:

You're kidding right? It's just a little bit too early to sex those bro...wait awhile and then you can maybe pick out a branch and cover it with something dark for a 12/12 illusion to that branch and sex it that way. BTW, you have plenty of time to read all the stickys about sexing plants before you'll be able to sex those, so I would read more about it, if I were you...jus sayin...:)

Quick point, he said it's an autoflower, so you can't trick it to flower using 12/12. Autoflowers are not photoperiod dependent, more age dependent.

Too early to tell what it's sex is.
I am of the opinion that when growing auto's, you should use femminized seeds. Or start bunches of seeds and cull the males when they show there sex. Dealing with autoflowers you have unique sets of problems, like you can't take cuttings from one, beause the cutting will just continue the time schedule of the plant it came from.

Thanks oldmac, you can probably tell I'm new to this, ill keep updating plenty of pictures of the grow! Fingers crossed, 1 of the plants is starting to get pungent and the other isn't, is this a sign?
Smell will not help to identify thier sex. It could be one is just developing faster or it could be slightly different phenos when growing from seeds.
You could plant 10 seeds and find one plant grows a little taller then others, or one might have more fragerence then others....and maybe 1 in 10 will be more potent then others.
Growing regular plants, you would be looking for that one great plant that gives you everything you are looking for and then make that your mother plant to make cuts/clones from. But alas, autoflower's don't really give you that option.

Ya, I have no experience with auto flowering strains whatsoever, but I still think it's too early, lol....so on autos you just have to wait it out and pray they are females? Personally, I think that blows....:(

So what, if any, are the advantages of using an auto-flowering strain? Just curious, I don't plan to start using them anytime soon, I got enough to play with now as it is!:)
Autos will show their sex in 10-14 days from germination. So you dont have to wait that long. Some strains do take an extra week to show.
Advantages? Not many if you ask me. You sacrifice yield/clones for a somewhat faster harvest (compared to seed to bud in reg). Also you can grow them easily on your balcony or amongst other plants since they are small.
Serves a purpose to some people I suppose.
