Hi all, just wanted to share a bit. Room is about 7 wide x 10 long and 9 ft tall (fun build). There is currently (8) 4ft T5's hydrofarm light.
Pretty nice condidering T12s have always been my thing for veg. 12" Air King oscillating fan, 8" passive intake. Girlies are about 3 weeks into veg. Currently on an 18 hr light-6 hr dark cycle which will continue for about another 5 weeks. Then the magic happens! There will be some changes made with regard to air flow to accomadate a 1000w HPS. Germinated with paper towels, distilled water and two plates. First they resided in Dixie cups till transplanted to larger pots shown in pics. Black Gold is soil type and General Hydro 3 part for nutes. Temp is currently about 80 at canopy. Hope you enjoy. :)

I've got a 4x4 flood and drain table, but not enough room to use it. You have the perfect space for later adding that 1000 watter. Great job! Hope they do well for you! Keep them happy.. You still have to sex them? When you do.. Take a cutting and root it,then sex the cutting. That way you don't disturb the stage of the parent plant.
Good Luck!

Thanks so much for kind words. Thought I would explain a bit...years ago, I had a hermie problem and I continued to let them 'blossom". I kept many of the seeds and low and behold!! Every seed I have ever popped from those plants have been a fine lady. I really have not given it much thought but, fully expect the same this go around.

yes, the plants look fantastic, happy.

I transplanted the girls to 5 gallon pots wich are difernent than 5 gallon buckets??? Anyway, things went great and i hit them with a full 3 -2 -1 feeding after the transplant. Took about 4 gallons. I will keep them in theses pots for the rest of thier term. Almost tried Smart Pots (looked like a cool idea) but did'nt. "Ol Faithfulls" Flippy flippy in about 3 weeky = )
.
Not sure if anyone noticed but, they seem a bit leafy than im use too. Maybe im just trippen but the nodes even are tighter/closer. Guees thats the difference between t12s and t5s.
But, whatever. They are looking alright.

The girls look super-happy! Really nice, clean set-up.
I'm along for the ride. This looks to be a good show!
btw, those are nice 5 gal pots. Where did ya find them? All that the stores have, by me, are the flimsy nursery-pots. :(

Thanks again. They seem to be doing well. Faints odor's with bigger leaves and larger pots. The pots were obtained at local hydro shop. The room temps are around 72 at canopy and 65 in room. I guess that seems about right.

Just wanted show some progress with a couple of pictures. The girls are between 12" and 15".
Also, I was curious, how I can make more purple colors show in the end product. I really enjoy seeing those colors. It has happened in the past...just very little. I understand it has to do with strand and temperature (very cold during flowering) I have never really thought to similate cold nights because being too cold has never really been an option, however it may be possible this go around. Just not sure when and for how long etc;
Not sure if this is the place for this question. Thanks:)

Those are some Super plants! The T5's are doing an absolutley awesome job!! I may look into one for vegging. I see alot of layering of leaves. You should pluck the ones that are sandwiched between two others. You'll get alot more light to the side branches giving you more bud in the end. Just a thought.. It was worth mentioning after seeing your pics. I'll be checking to see how your doing. Great Job!:thumbsup:
Happy Growing!

I bought a 1000 phantom dimmable ballast. It's pretty awesome. I hooked it up to a 6 in Radiant HydroFarm. 6in ducting and a 6" Vortex. Temps holding about 83. Still need to make some tweeks. Hoping to bring it down a bit. I can't believe how these hoods are so cool these days. And the Ballast. It's cool to the touch! Im Happy. Put a 1000 HPS in. Thanks for the help. I 'll be looking for a Cabon Filter Soon. Here are some pictures iof the girls now in Flower.
Im a bit early but they were blowin up! Flippy came early.:D

Like how you put the pots on trays to catch the runoff, seems much better then the individual trays I use...does it drain to a bucket below or something? I was thinking of rigging something homemade up...but a big tray seems much easier...just dont want to lose any height.
Plants look great.

PF my hat's off to you, your plants look so healthy and happy in their environment! :greenthumb:

Thanks. Yeah, its a bucket under the 4x 4 tray close to my stool that i sit at while feeding. Any excess just drains right into the bucket and I reuse the food. I could have routed it to a drain or even through the wall, to the exterior but, I liked the idea of total containment.

So there are 3 of 6 plants so far that are showing a Pistol or two. I'm still guessing all six will be girls. I donated a couple of the plants to a local dispensary. So eight has become six :( A couple folks from the shop seemed pretty happy though. They gave me some free oil (never had it before). Pretty nice, I was not expecting anything. Kinda trips me out though, cause right away a couple folks said "oh, they must be from seed" It almost seems like clones are the norm and plants from seed are more rare. I look at clones and don't really have a desire to mess with them. Did it once...did'nt care for the results but, that's probably cause I have no experience with them. Anyway, recently bought a new bucket/container to make food in. It's six gallons and I can now make one batch-to feed them all- instead of two batches in that little 3 gallon bucket. Takes about 5 gallons to feed the girls. They are now doing 3-2-1 Pink-Brown-Green and I will add Tiger Bloom in a couple of weeks (stuffs great). Temps are nice about 70 in the room and 78 at the canopy. I was thinking about LST but got lazy. It always seems like a lot of work. Maybe next time. Here's a few pics... does'nt look much different from before just a lil bigger. Enjoy!

Looking really good! Nice Fem seeds too. Keep an eye on them for hermie, but if they were proper femed seeds you shouldn't have any.
As for increasing the purpling, Some strains do it, some don't. All will do it to some extent if the temps are low enough, but as for making the nice deep purple buds..... well good luck.
There's the "PurpleMax" crap out there, but I don't really trust/believe in doing that to a plant. If it's not gonna purp up on it's own, it's not gonna be purp! ;)
I'm watchin this for sure! :D  :weedpoke:

Hi Canniwhatsis,
Thanks for the reply with regard to that purpling question. Anyway, I can give it a shot... not too sure when or or how long to make it cold, Im guessing close to freezing huh? Maybe a night or two a week last 2 weeks in flowering??? To be honest- The whole purple thing is not too important, just wanted to try and have some fun. Sugar coated bats are what I want:) What temps are optimal while they sleep though? I'm getting into the fifties degree area. Just curious if I should be thinking about keeping it a lil warmer. As I mentioned before.... This area is new for me and having colds temps have never been one of my problems.
Nice to see you pop in:) Thanks for the help.

Just wanted to update. Things seem to be going like clock work. Only complaint is that one of the girls is a bit short but, a couple thick books help that:thumbsup: The average height is about 36 inches from ground to heighest point of plant. Budsites are becoming a bit visible. Also, I am a little curious how much more they will stretch. The light bar I have probably is'nt going to work past tomorrow. The HPS will have to be hooked to the ceiling to get more height. (I knew this would happen) Don't want to burn anything. I'm gonna set up another trey 2x4 and -of course- a 2x4 Grandstand to hold the trey and put the light bar on that. I'll put the T5 lights on that. That will be the new veg area. Two areas and that's it. It will be cool cause then there will be no moving crap around. I am in full force with the 4-2-1-2 (GenHydro-TigerBloom). Seems to be eatin it up.

Wow this is one nice grow for sure:thumbsup:. I am flowering my NL now, but your plants look like they are in great healthy shape man. I enjoy the NL a lot, il bet your cross is killer. As for that purple you want, iv been told that when a purple strain stays green, its more potent. Just something i was told and the person put it to me this way too. And with the NL in it, you may get some and you may get the NL genes, which would be ok with me. But like i said i like the NL a lot.
But i understand wanting the purple. I had one outside this year, which was the first time in 30 years id ever seen purple buds like i had. It needed about a month to go to finish and my partner ripped it off:wtf:. Sucked man. Then they came back and took my tops, lol. But i guess i did get something in the end and now have 5 kinds of purples to grow inside!
Good luck bro, il will be watching this one..........Great pic's too man:hippy:

It is getting a little more enjoyable as the flowers appear to be getting larger and crystalier. Some of the smallest leaves at the top of one of the girls are yellow. Not sure whats up. Maybe nutes?? Worries me. Anyway, here is a pic or two showing my progress.

WOW PIPE! you got some monsters in your garden. the structure of them is very beautiful and those fat indica leaves are amazing. looks like you got yourself a nice green thumb. Just remeber it only gets ickyer. these ladies fully budded is going to be a sight!!! keep up the good work pipe!

Hey Camo, thanks man. I can't wait to see how thick these buds get. The stalks are bigger than I have ever had in the past at this point in flower. I'm thinking that they will be pretty big at finish.
They probably wont strecth but another few inches but they will probably fill in quite a bit more.
Thanks for checking them out man. It's reassuring to hear good stuff from other folks that do the same thing. Never really had open discussions with regard to growing meds. This site makes it possible to help others and learn alot myself. Happy New Year!

Plants are doing well. Temps are a little low. I went to a local shop and bought variable speed controller for the 6 inch Vortex. It is crazy awesome. I turn it down and the temp rises...turn it up and the temp goes down. That damn vortex was kinda loud too. The variable controller not only helps the temp where ever I want but is allowing me to keep the room much more quiet. There was no control before. My lows are about 60 and my highs are about 78. Might still be a little cool.
Im throwing up a couple of pictures, but kinda focused on one plant. You really can't see too much detail when I take a pic of the whole grow. Enjoy.

Looks good.
Nice touch with the fire extinguisher.

Hey Camo- Pimpin aint easy!!!! The girls are between 3-4 ft and the smell is like some "killer green" I dunno how to describe it but it's a little sweet! Thanks for checking in camo. Im glad you like.
Hi Slacker- Thanks for checking out the log. I figure I'll never need that extinguisher but better to be safe than sorry. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. No what i mean?

I agree 100%. It is one thing to lose you're grow, it's another to lose your home.
-
Blueberry x Northern Lights
OK, so I'm a little excited over very little color but it's there. Maybe there won't be much more, maybe there will. Quality meds (on so many levels) always comes first but if the buds "look good" it's even better. I am not too sure why I am hung up on seeing purple?? I guess I am shallow that way. For some reason I love too look at pretty buds. Maybe I will have to find a purple indica (from seed). Not really sure if there are any. Here are a couple of pics. Also I am finding that watering is only needed about once a week. When it's cool they suck water so much slower.

Hey Pipe, you were viewing a thread I have on cold temps and I thought I wuld check out your grow log. Damn, those are some nice lookin ladies. Do you contribute the close spacing of nodes to using the T5's ?
Nice job for sure:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hi littlemountain - Thanks for checking out my grow log and thanks for the compliment on the girls. I do think think that the T5's do make tight nodes. I have always used the T12's for veg and also had good results but, the T5's (in my opinion) work better and do make them tighter. I will say, that the 12's are cooler though. I was a little suprised how warm the 5's get. I have to keep them 5-6 inches from the tops, where as the 12's you could almost let the leaves touch the bulbs with no burning. I also think that the 5's penetrate the canapoy better.
Catcha soon and stay warm.

Hey sexysmoke, letssmoke and blow-
Thanks for checking the log out! Hoping for some dry weight too:thumbsup: I notice though that with the cooler temps the buds are not getting as big if it was warmer. I think that they do not drink nearly as much when it's cool. I guess the more they drink the bigger they get. When it's warmer, they drink more and then get bigger- if it's cool it's just the opposite. I'm just thinking out loud. I think in my case the problem may be that canopy temps are right at about 77-80 (light on) but the room itself is 60 or so. When the light goes out it's really about 55-60 (even at the canopy) Anyway, things are looking good, I just wish I could keep it 77-80 24 hrs a day. I really do not want to think about a heater:(
Catcha soon.

hey letsseeya, sorry for the misprint on your name. Guess you know what I was thinkin;)
I wanted to add that I am thinking of starting to flush in about week or so. I will use just PH'ed water for about 2 weeks. Since the uptake has been a little slow I might just run like 8 times the pot size of water through or whatever that number is. I forget. Anyway, the flush will be coming soon. I 'll put up some pictures later tonight.
