Upcoming test... Please help!!!

Hey everyone,

I am a 5'11" male that weighs about 230 pounds and I used to smoke about 2 times a day for like 5 years. I have only smoked about 5-6 times since October 18th and have not smoked at all since October 27th. I have to take a urine test in order to be admitted into nursing school. The results of the test need to be in before December 15th and I was planning on taking the test on December 10th. Should i be clean by the 10th? That will have been 43 days since I last smoked but I was wondering if since I used to smoke so often that I might need to start running and drinking lots of water. Any input would be very helpful. Thank you!!!

Any takers? I started drinking a lot of water yesterday and I ran for 20 minutes. Should this speed up the process at all if I keep it up?

Only way to know for sure is to test yourself periodically. You can get them cheap and in bulk online.

Also, drinking tons of water days before the test will not help to rid your body of THCA. The only way to rid the body of THCA is through time, exercise, and a high fiber diet(Metamucil works great).

Ok thank you. I just ordered 5 test strips from amazon for like 3 bucks, which i thought was cheap. I just started running a little bit and will continue with that and I already eat a pretty high fiber diet. I will probably start testing myself about 10 days before I want to do the actual test. Are the test strips very accurate? Basically if I pass it on a home test strip will I most likely pass it at the testing center?

The home test strips are just as accurate as any lab test. Just be sure to test yourself using the first void of the day, as it contains the highest concentration of THCA.

The sticky thread on dillution at this site should be helpful. It is a long read but worth the time for folks in your spot. Only time can remove the THC from your body as previously stated. The dillution is just for the days prior and up the day when you are tested. It is just to make sure your sample is dilluted but does not raise alarms.

There is advice for folks who need to do a hair test on this site as well.

Update the site with the results.

I am hoping to not have to do dilution. If I take the test when I would like to, it will have been about 42 days since I last smoked. I want to just pass the test without having to trick it, so hopefully that will work.

I'd still down a gallon of water a couple hours before the UA just to be safe :D

99 cents at a supermarket, cant hurt...

Yesterday morning I took an at home test with the first pee of the day. I accidentally kept the strip in the pee for like 30 seconds instead of 3. The test still shower a faint pink line and the control line was a solid magenta line. However, the test line was not a solid line, it was like 3/4 of a line across the strip. I went in a sauna yesterday after the test for about 40 minutes. I took another test this morning. I put the strip in the cup for about 5 seconds. The test line is the same color as yesterday, but now it is almost not visible. You can see something but I am not sure it would be a pass. I think I am going to stop hitting the sauna until my test. I will surely not use my first pee of the day for the actual test either. What do you guys think about all of this? Did I pass even though the line was hardly visible?

This will not do a thing to speed up THCA unloading. Sweating is not the same as fat burning exercise.

I disagree about THCA unloading. How would a sauna not speed up THCA unloading if it allows you to sweat out toxins? I guess I should mention that I use a infrared sauna, which is different than a normal sauna. I was sitting in 130 degree heat for 40 minutes.

So I take it that since something appeared under the control line on my test strip that I passed the test? I was just wondering because it was a VERY faint pink line.

You come here to the DT forum looking for help, yet you sit there and disagree with others providing you factual info? :rolleyes:


FYI, very little THC is excreted via sweat. Sweating is the bodys reaction to temperature and/or nervousness, not a measurement of calories being burned.
You can sweat enough to fill a 50 gallon drum yet the amount of THC being excreted via sweat would still be miniscule. The rest of the THC is being excreted via the urine and bowels as the result of fat cells being burned.

Also, THC is non-toxic, so it is erroneous to label THC a "toxin".
