Reason you smoke...

Ok yeah well lately ive realized ive been smoking just to get away from things...thats wrong tho. Like today i was thinking about it, and ive been smokin for a lil over a year now and ive gone through a few phases... When i first started it was just the occasional toke cuz it was fun and cool thing to do, Then i started tokin more and it just started to be daily life, then i couldnt get money for it so i started stealing, then shit became bad...but then once again i had a regular supply of it so it was just daily life, for the past 4-6 months its been a regular thing, But the reasons why have changed. First it was because it was fun and something to do with friends, then it started to become to get away from things...thats how it is now, but hopefully im going to do a lot of changing, and also since ive realized it im going to change to smoking where its cuz i enjoy it and it makes things fun. I just do it to relax. My life is always heinous and moving when i finally get some time to just sit down and smoke a little green its great.

I'm a bit like you, Penguin (without the stealing part... life sucks sometimes, don't it?)

I used to do it occasionally just for fun, and gradually I began smoking more and more often. Now, whenever I have some weed, I'll smoke anywhere between 1-4 joints/bowls a day... But when I run out, I make it a point to way a few days before getting some more, just to keep it real :D

But I don't really know why... I tend to get depressed, like a lot of people on this board, and I guess it helps me out a lot with that... Plus, there's nothing better than relaxing whilst getting stoned!

I have to cross the Hudson River to get back and forth to work. Well after working out in the cold all day and then picketing @ town hall for another hour I just wanted to get home to smoke this killer looking bud I got @ work and watch the Simpsons.
Low and behold I'm past the last exit on the NYS Thruway before the Tappan Zee Bridge and some guy decides to climb to the top and threaten to jump. So I get to sit in My truck for a 1 1/2 hours with a nice bud in my pocket and no way to smoke it. Ths is One of the reasons I smoke weed.... ;)

I started out smoking out of curiosity. I then realized that I liked it a lot, but I didn't really start smoking daily or at least a few times a week until now (2 years later). I guess it's because I have a lot of shit going on and it helps keep me level.

Same thing. Used to smoke once in a while because it was fun, then I started doing it daily just to get through life. Now I'm going cold turkey for a while, then I'll start toking occasionally again and hopefully keep it that way.

i think everyone starts by smoking occasionally then making it a daily habit, i love grass, i wouldnt replace my ganja for anything in the world.

I smoke it for a couple of reasons.
1. It calms me down, and relaxes me. I'm allways nervous, and I can't sit still for more then ten minutes, unless I'm listening to relaxing music, typing, or doing something physical. The nervousness comes from all of that centhetic growth hormones shit that I had to have enjected into me from when I was ten years old, to when I was about fourteen. The reason for the growth hormones was, because I have optic nerve hypoplasia. I was born with it, and I just about missed the bullet on that. The other problems that come with the optic nerve disability are, mental retardation, a few things that I don't remember off the top of my head right now, and of course, blindness and stunted growth. It all started when I was riding in the truck with my mom, we were heading back from the video store, and my hand started shaking. She saw this and asked why I was shaking, and if I was nervous. I told her no and not to worry about it any more, but that didn't happen. Even when I was just laying in bed, I'd allways toss and turn.
2. It helps me sleep better.
3. I'd rather get stoned than get drunk and unpredictable.

sorry your feeling down penguin but I absolutlly agree with you. Lately getting high isent as fun as it is when I used to smoke every now and then...but then again how am I gunna stop? Lol I sure as hell cant wake and bake tomorrow since I dident score buds today!!! Ya see...its an addiction in my case but an addiction I love.

because i enjoy it.. thats basically it.. maybe at first it was different, but now i smoke because i like to, because I CHOOSE to :)

no worries, and it's great because it makes me be myself. If i'm put under pressure, and i'm sober... i'm not myself, if i'm on weed and i'm under pressure... i can shake things off, and stay calm and do things right. Weed helps me sleep, and just relax and enjoy life even more than i do.

I started smoking the same way most of you did, it was just a once and a while thing for about 2 months, then i realized i love weed and i started smoking more and more and now it has come to the point where i smoke almost everyday. I like to smoke because i am usually a shy person and when i smoke i am more relaxed and i have noticed i get along better with people when i am stoned.

i love getting high and coming down , waking up stoned , skinning up, playing guitar stoned , listening to music, trying out new bud and hashish, just everythign about it i really want to grow some plants as a hobby and for free smoke aswell when i can

It increases my creativity.

for me i have no reason not too smoke, when i find the reason to stop i will...i mainly do it cause its fun but i have been there when ur just tryna get by...that sux

I love smoking after a long day at work. It helps me calm down. Not from work though, from the drive home! Commuting is more stressful than work!
I like to fill up my pipe (when I have some) smoke it away as the sun sets, and then just chill for the rest of the evening until I go to bed.
Even when the high is wearing off, Im still super-relaxed

Just love feeling happy and loving after smoking

Because weed is unique in many aspects and i like it. :)

I smoke for a number of reasons.
1) To get high. Just to feel the euphoria, sometimes just to stave off boredom.
2) To relieve stress. College isn't all fun and games, and sitting down to smoke a bowl in the evening (or the morning, or the middle of the night, or the afternoon, or my lunch break) helps me enjoy that free time in relaxation rather than worrying about the shit I have to get done or if the shit I got done was done well enough or if there was some shit I should have gotten done but didn't.
3) Appetite stimulant. I don't really feel hungry that often when I'm sober. I'll get a vague feeling of having not eaten in a while, but any feelings of actual hunger are pretty mild and then I can only eat a little bit before I just can't get myself to eat anymore. But when I'm stoned, it's a whole different story. I could eat four plates of food and still scarf down dessert if I've had a nice session beforehand (which comes in handy at the all-you-can-eat buffet style dining halls we have here).
4) Music enhancer. 'Nuff said.
5) Because I can! I really don't have much else to spend my money on (when I have money that is) and I also get significant amounts of free weed from a friend of mine, and life is short, so why the fuck not?

B/c it works. I started like everyone else, casual smoker. I didn't smoke in high school. I tried it back then but my Mom busted me and I was in sooooo much trouble that I didn't smoke again until after I was 21. It's been 10 years now and it's a daily, all day long, expensive habit I have formed. I like it though. I can't drink, I'm a light weight. Hell according to the law, I can't drink 1 beer an hour and be legal. Shit two beers, I'm drunk, three I'm hugging the toilet. Smokin, no problem. Give me a joint, and I'm good to go. No sickness, no hangover, and hell I can drive in 20 minutes or less. Then again that is only b/c I've been smokin for so long that it doesn't effect me like it did 10+ years ago. And the reason I started. HELLO, can you say LIFE! Seriously b/c I wanted to kill the pain. I like so many other woman was molested as a child by four different people before I was 10 so in the end it killed the pain and worked for me. Still does. Now, I'd love to go smoke, except I can't. Have to stay clean for a job. I need the job so the weed will have to wait until I take the piss test and then, well, it's back life as I've known it for so long. Peace out............
