What smell do you think can match the potency of flowering buds?
I need to test my carbon filter. I don't want to start my first grow and get my plant to the smelly part of the cycle and realize my house stinks. I'd have to do a filter all over again and stealth would be compromised by then!
What ideas do you have? Coffee or something like that? Or is that not strong enough? I've never smelled a flowering weed plant before.

i cant think of any smell that even comes close to its power and smell. maybe lumberger cheese.
I lit some incense and let it fill up for a while. Turned on the fan and could smell a very faint, fruity scent from it.
Opened the box and it was stinking incense badly.
What do you guys think? Should I go for it?
I've got a DIY carbon scrubber and although my plants are only 18 days in flower they already are a bit stanky when I open the grow box, on the outside there is not smell whatsoever.

Its just a 6 sq/f area with two females
If you're going to have a large area you would prob want to buy or build a bigger version of my DIY'er. IDK how far mine'll go yet but I've read only good feedback from other box growers, some with 4-6 nice sized fems.
I did the same inscents test and found my filter wasnt working but mybey 80% of perfect so I bought some scent trap... its like a can that is suppose to remove ciggerett odor from a dollar store and it works great. :But on top of that i still frebreeze like a mad man.

hell i would rather smell the frebreeze then my wife's candles! everyroom in my house has its own little over powering headache inducing scent to it.

I used to use the DIY scrubber from the guide on these forums. It worked great. I just buy them now from the hydro store because im too lazy AND its so messy changing the carbon on the DIY.
Plus the smell the plants give off is definitely strain dependant. I searched for strains that dont smell. The most noteable one I found was Blue Mystic. Almost no smell even at peak ripeness. It gets a fruity smell during the cure though.
If you are that worried try looking into blue mystic or other low odor strains.
Temperature also brings out the smell. High temps=high smells for the most part.
