I have 3 clones that have been in soil for 3 weeks, all fed/watered on same schedule. This particular plant has the outer edges of the fan leaves turning a bright yellow green. Is this nute burn? It seems to only be on the lower leaves.
What should I do to get it back to normal, or prevent this from happening again?
Thanks,
SLG

i don't think it's nute burn as it is only showing on the bottom of the plant. this indicates that it is a mobile element problem. since it's a mobile elelemnt, it moves to where it's needed so you don't see the deficiency in the new growth.
how long have they been in their current pots?

they have been in the 1 gallon pots for almost 4 weeks. I brought them home from the dispensary in rockwool as a rooted clone, and put them in soil.

check the roots. i don't have my reference book in front of me so i can't compare the pics right now, sorry.

what am I looking for with the roots? I pulled the plant up and the roots are white...doesnt seem to heavy to the point it is root bound. The picture is not that great, but hopefully it is helpful.
Thanks

Looks like fert burn to me, especially if you're feeding so often as a water/feed, water/feed with Advanced. That stuff seems kind of hot. The problem with alot of ferts is that the companies don't tell you how often to use their products. Also, since you're using a one gallon pot, I doubt if you have enough soil there to justify feeding so much. When tips go yellow, then brown, it usually mean fert burn. Give it a rinse, then don't water until the soil start to go dry.
Edit, I just saw your photo. I'd transplant into something bigger. Go easy on the ferts.

should I transplant into the 5 gallon pots I plan on flowering in? I have 1 gallon, 5 gallon, and 10 gallon pots. I think the 10 gallon pots are a little big even for flower...whats your opinion?
Nute burn? Pictures/troubleshoot included
Well for a "novice", you seem to be pretty on top of your game. Ph is good and everything, IMHO.
Except the amount of ferts/food u r giving it. seems to be a tad higher than what i would recommend. Try doing it less. thats sadly all the advie i can give you

p.s: i have the same problem with my plant. It was turning yellowish green at the tips, then it turned brown and died at the tips. And only on a couple leaves at the bottom. The problem was not overfeeding, persay, more that i mixed two kinds of miracle grow soil. not the smartest move at all. =) nevertheless, it WAS a fert/food problem. I resolved it with a soil change. expensive, but effective

5 Gallon will see you through flowering just fine. Ten gallon per plant is great but a luxury for most indoor grows, and will cost you alot in potting soil. I'd avoid Miracle Grow as some people have problems with it. Get soil from a hydroponic shop if you have one close by, or a soil that isn't loaded with fert from the factory.

I am only using this small closet space for the time being...I have a large 4x8x7 grow tent with a 1000w hps for flowering. I have a small mite infestation in the tent, so I will keep these girls in the closet of my house until my flowering plants finish, at which point I will bomb the tent before unleashing these pretty ladies. There is plenty of room in the tent for the 10 gallon pots...either way, I shouldn't transplant from a 1 gallon to a 10 gallon correct? I need to hit the 5 gallon first right? Thanks!

when is the last time the plant had a flush? you can transplant, but if the plant hasn't been flushed in a while i would flush first, let dry out, then transplant. i would go from a 1 to a 5 to a 10. 1 to 10 is a big jump.
how long do the ladies in flower have?

First I want to say thank you for everyones help...it is greatly appreciated!
The plants have never been flushed, other than watering till it comes out the bottom. Is one gallon of water enough to flush a one gallon pot? I will flush first, then transplant into the 5 gallon pots.
The ladies in flower are a whole different issue...spider mites took over fast and hard! They are under control know, however I am considering the death penalty for one or both of them. Of the two flowering ladies, one is ready to be harvested, planned on doing that tomorrow. The other lady probably should go another 2 weeks, but the mites really did some damage. There really isnt anymore "green" left, except for the SMALL buds. I dont know if she is salvagable at this point! What is the deal with buds that have been attacked by mites? Will it affect the smokeability? It seems like a bad idea to smoke dead bugs! Anyways...I think the flower room should be ready for new occupants before the end of November...I want to bomb the tent, garage, and surrounding areas first!
Thanks again,
SLG

you need to flush with 3 times the amount of water of your container size.
you can always make hash out of the destroyed lady.

Nute burn? Pictures/troubleshoot included
do you have a good recipe/method of making hash? I suppose I need to harvest, and dry the buggy lady just like any healthy plant correct? I have googled ways to make hash but there are soooo many different ways. I trust you probably can lead me in the right direction.
Thanks for everything...

well you can use the bubblebag method, but you need the bags. or you can dry screen it, but you need the screen. if you go with the screen method you want a 120 micron screen. you can find them at art supply/pottery stores. the bags are a big expensive, but you can find them on ebay for much cheaper.
let me know which way you decided to go, and i can advise further.
you are welcome for the help.

think im gonna try the screen method...not sure I want to invest in bubblebags yet. I would like to rig up some sort of electric motor to agitate the screen and make the process a easier.

Well, Id like to put these girls into flower already, but I want to get this problem fixed first. The temps around these parts have dropped and I have been doing my best not to let them drop below 65. These girls were brought home and put into soil on 10/09/10. After the last post, I flushed, let dry, then transplanted into 5 gallon containers. I also cut my nute strength back almost 3/4.
Something I noticed is that the new growth tips turn light yellow/burnt pretty quickly.
PIX 1&2 ARE SSSDH, PIX 3-5 ARE NYC DEISLE
Thanks,

if you hang them for a week or more mites will tend to crawl up of the plant. its not 100%, however if you knew what crawls on you at sleepy time youd probably shit yourself. i hung from a white string on a bathroom towel rack once and ill be damned the little bastards were making their way up and on to the rack...true story.
Nute burn? Pictures/troubleshoot included
also keep your room cooler if you can, this slows their reproductive rates. try maxicrop seaweed extract they tend to dislike that and also slows them down. if you have the $$ buy predator mites, most of the cost is i shipping though. ask questions b4 you buy as predator mites are temp sensitive. certain ones in different climates will get you better results. you may need a variety of p mites to achieve a natural goal and when they are done with mites and their eggs they die off...problem solved.

spider mites are no longer an issue...these girls are in a different area and have not been attacked. I have since bombed the tent, house, and garage with a pyrethrim based bomb. I have also sparayed the entire perimeter of my home and garage with Malithion. Also, the temps in these parts have been in the low 20's at night, so I doubt that mites will be a big problem from here forward.

just learned that SSSDH is Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze if that helps at all!
