10) To appreciate how hard your caregiver works.

But when I accidentally left my greenhouse door shut, my emerald field of green, just five weeks out from harvest, was baked into oblivion. Kind bud has a steep learning curve.
9) To take a stand on legalizing marijuana.
When you get your card and set up your own legal home grow, you are entering into a movement and making a political statement. In effect, you are encouraging local agriculture and exercising a constitutional right enjoyed by few others on the face of the earth -- the constitutional right to grow pot.
8) To stimulate your brain.
Setting up a grow system takes a certain amount of critical thought. You'll have to decide if you want to grow hydro or in soil, under lights or under the sun, which nutrients to dabble in and whether you'll be starting from seed or clone. All these decisions and more will influence the outcome of your crop -- and along the way, the brainteasers will serve as an interesting challenge, especially to those tinkerers out there who have never outgrown trying to make a bong out of an Erector Set.

I've read some info on Prop 19 and I'm not impressed. Is it at least a step in the right direction - yes but it's going to make things a pain in the arse too and is going to be amended and adjusted time & time again. Lawyers are loving what they see in Prop19.
Maybe Cali should do what CO originally did - amend the state's constitution. In other words, being able to medicate is my constitutional right! Lately though CO is becoming a pain in the arse too. But if you're just a personal grower - it doesn't get any better than here.

I was at a newish MMC in south denver today, and over the course of our conversation, something interesting came up and I'm not sure if I got accurate info or not.
The owner said that if a patient who grows their own medicine signs over an MMC as their primary caregiver, that the patient can then sell their personal overage to the MMC under the 30% of vertical integration.
My question is, wouldn't that turn a patient into an off site grow or something? What if two patients living under one roof both have edible cards for 25 plants. Can we grow ~50 plants and sell the 'overage' to the MMC we signed up with? To make this simpler, let's go back to 6 plants max. 2 patients could grow enough from 12 plants to sell 'overage' and make it worth it? There are no caregivers, only patients. Is this MMC getting bad advice?
In this example, would this patient be allowed to purchase from a caregiver/non MMC or patient to patient, or would this tie the patients to MMC's only?

im no lawyer, but the way i understand it is 6 plants per household you cant have 2, 6, 10 people growing under one roof that would be a co-op. when you assign a caregiver you give up your right to grow i dont believe your allowed your six plants. with the new bill i dont think you can sell overages to a dispensary unless you become an employee or get your permits and become organized with them as always check with an attorney.

What I am curious about is whether legislation affects the sale of medicine from the patient to their primary MMC. I would imagine the MMC's 'intake' rules would apply, and if the rules on vertical integration say that 30% can only come from MMC's this won't work. This owner explained it to me like they would consider my medicine to be part of that 30%.
It seems unlikely that that situation would ever come up. Seems to me, any patient growing good meds will have 5 patients and be a caregiver to remain compliant with plant counts. It just seems unlikely that those who designate MMC's as their primary caregiver would ever grow their own to a quality point where it makes sense for the MMC to use it as part of their 30%.

ok, maybe im not following you here on this so ill apologize in advance. if your a patient with a caregiver you shouldnt have anything growing to sell. now if your looking to run a mild mannered operation be wary because the "depatment" is hiring auditors and regulators who can inspect mmc's, growers and dispensaries at any time. not everyone wants to be an mmc because of regulation that seems to be squeezing mmc's out of existence. next dot let people trick you into believing that you can grow your own and sign them on as your mmc because the want another 6-12 plants on their list. seek pro advice b4 you get your license revoked. mmj license is a one strike deal unless you move. and your right people who cant grow for whatever reason need someone to do it for them. tomorrow cali will vote on full legalization get ready for a shit storm of new regs every damn month.

It's important to note that I'm not talking about myself, just a hypothetical. Assume whatever you'd like, I'm just trying to discuss potential options moving forward. There are lots of factors, like whether certain authorities would recognize higher plant counts. I'm thinking 2 patients in a house, no caregiving, with two edible recs at 25 per, 50 plants for the house. If authorities don't recognize the edible rec, then one of the residents becomes a caregiver. For whatever reason, if someone decides to become a caregiver in order to grow more than 3/3, then we're talking 5 patients, the grower, and one more patient in the house, be it wife/girlfriend/brother/mother. Then, we're looking at 42 plants. It's easy enough for me to find 5 patients more than willing to sign me as their primary caregiver.
The higher plant count would probably be the best option, since a caregiver would have to separate from his patients before doing business as a patient with an mmc. Grey area and all I guess.
However, it's probably going to be easier to stick with two patients in a house and 6/6 than deal with any more 'grey areas' than we have to. There are great things being developed with undercurrent systems, especially on the DIY side. It's probably going to be easier growing large plants instead of any number of smaller ones. I bet the best yielding small plant count system moving forward will be some sort of mpb/uc base with either tall trees or scrog, assuming smaller plant counts.
I hope everyone votes today. There was no line when I dropped my ballot off today in lone tree.

You operate an MMC right? Would you ever buy your 30% from a patient who has designated you as their primary MMC? Let's assume you're acting officially as an MMC, not a potential patient-to-patient situation.
What's the difference between you buying from me and you buying from someone with an off-premise license? What's keeping an MMC from supplying me with genetics, nute schedules, etc, then buying back the end product at wholesale or some other arrangement?
Interesting stuff happening these days. I guess it's possible he was just saying, 'I'll totally buy your meds dude' as a selling point to make me designate them.

1284 regulates MMCs, so if one wants to purchase weed from a patient, it's only the MMC who would be at risk. Patients can sell all day long.
I can see how this would be vertical integration, though not how it fits in 1284, but that's for the MMC and their attorney to worry about.

This was a new place, we'll see how long their doors are open. They don't cap their 1/8ths at $50 which is likely to be a disqualifier for me, but they do have some mid-grade ounces for $200-$250 depending. The meds were worth that price at the MMC. I'm very happy with the top shelf that I got.

try growing your own, you might find the quality even better and at $10 and ounce:D not for everyone, just my thought.

Hmm... this is different than another interpretation I've heard, namely that the plant limit is not shared between you and the MMC. Too bad they only leave the regulations vague where it benefits their ability to profit and prosecute more people. :(

The interpretation of our attorney [the money gobbler, I call him] is that the same constitutional protection applies to dispensaries if the patient selects the Self and MMC choice on the caregiver change form. You have to agree on who grows how many of the 6 plant allocation.
Granted nobody will probably ever have the chance to verify between the dispensary and patient at the same time. But, that is the law.

the six plant rule is bogus to me. that would be like going to the supermarket and they are only allowed six things. it needs to be what ever the market will command. then there would be no need to scramble for patient counts just to have enough stock, patients would be treated better, the quality would go way up, and there would be more freebies for those that really cant afford the meds they need. but alas our world is not all that perfect:(
