its not always knowing more its knowing how
have you ever wonder why we are able to increase our yeilds grow after grow. its not that we know more its that we know how. we had all the information from the start it was just being able to put that knowelge to work for us.
its that fact that we are able to create a more stable enviroment that enables us to grow better with each grow. so for all of us newbies. i have been growing for 4 years and still consider myself a newbie. continueing to learn more everyday.
i know we have read the holy grow bible and it so is writen that a ph shall be this. well that isnt always true. just because it was written doesnt make it fact. in my years of growing i have never checked a ph i dont even own a test kit. i have no i dea what my e.c is. but i am still able to grow how is that you ask. it is because i am able to create a stable enviroment for my plants to grow in. i am a very simple hydro grower and i do my best to keep my temps and my humidit stabel.
most city water is a ph of 7. and you cant grow wrong in nuetral. could me grows be better well i am sure they could but i am sure my grades in school would have been better 2 if i studied. but that doesnt mean i didnt learn.
most of grow from seed and if we start a seed and keep the conditions it grown in stable it will grow becuase it doesnt know any better. to check my ppm's of my hydro i would have to know exactly what minerials the plant has removed to add them back in. we have no idea what it used and didnt use to grow why check the e.c or the ppm's. simpley follow the directions on the nutes that we bought. simple enought
the only time ph would become a factor is if we went and bought clones from a friend or someone else and the ph they grew in was lower then it would cause burns and the plant to stress out. it knows better by this point on what it wants. and again back to the stable enviroment. we changed it and that where the problem is. unstable enviroment.
so for all of new and old growers remember it is not always what we know its knowing how. and that is to create a stable enviroment.
its not always knowing more its knowing how
enviromental changes are commonly over looked when our plants trun south over night. make yourself a check list if your plant goes south check these things first before diving into your ph. even the simplest things of you leaving a fan on or off to long could change the temps and cause your plant to turn south. so do your best to keep the enviromental chages to a minimum and you will be rewarded with happy plants. YES I REALLY DONT AND NEVER HAD CHECKED MY PH OR E.C..
my feelings are if you try to mess with the water by adding chemicals you can over do it and do more harm than good. i would recommend if you want to lower your ph use a natural buffer like peat moss.peat moss you can just stuff in a pair of panty hose and toss it in the bucket and will lower the ph naturallly and stablize it. chemicals tend to be hard to get exact and everytime you do a water change you are not at the same ph and again it all falls back to keeping the stable enviroment! i can not stress it enought stable enviroment.
ever wonder why you plant wilts a little when you go from vegging under cfl's to flowering under 1000hps...its all the stable enviroment. i will actual begin to heat my veg area to match the flower room for less stress on the plant when it moves to the hotter room
its not always knowing more its knowing how
now imagine being able to grow a plant thats trained to your conditions all the time.each time you grow you will be getting a stronger and stronger plant.and all we have to do is keep everything simple.i can tell you that i got 2 week clones with fan leaves the size of my hand all i want.you wouldnt believe me,but by me constantly having everything constant thats how my clones are.alot of the things we are doing is covering up or masking mistakes by over or under doing stuff.mainly those high priced nutes is what giving us all these problems.if you use this you goto use this.get a base feeding and do a couple grows cause i wanna see if other people are getting the same results.its mind blowing to see these plants grow now.
its not always knowing more its knowing how
many of those company's make products designed just for sales and profits. i mean how many additives does one company have to make. i like to use cutting edge solutions. they make just a simple 3 part nutrieant. micro, grow, bloom and they have a simple 3 part additive. uncle josh's bland, plant amp, and cal mag. with are basically the icicng on the cake so to speak. arent needed but there if you want the added boost to your grow. now when 1 company can make one line of products then you know they are doing well.
look at advanced nutes they make so many they have to have a catologe published. house and garden takes up 5 shelves at my local grow store and general has 2 line to chose from. why not just the best product right from the start? well cutting edge does. just 1 line done right.
its not always knowing more its knowing how
i am so confused why so many company's make so many products. that is why i chose to use cutting edge solutions. one company making one line of nutes. they must have gotten right the first time. they are reasonibly price at 25 bucks a gallon. they do make their own line of additives like uncle josh, plant amp,and cal mag. they are just the icing on the cake. there is no 10 different kinds of bull shit to buy to get you confused.
look at humbolt. they have a product called duece duece and it clearly states on their directions, the website, and the feed chart to use in hydro.well call them up and ask them about duece duece they will tell you its soil only and they just havent updated anything yet. there were so many problems of hydro users that they had to make a hydro duece. i am one who had a problem with the product. thought i would try something new. totaly my fault. i created that unstable enviroment i so strive for and lost a plant using this product. so i again i cannot stress enough stable stable strive for stable.....your plants will grow
its not always knowing more its knowing how
so what do you think about the study that im doing with my plants.its got to be something there.i have not seen such growth with any other plants that i have grown.i just cant emagine how the next clones will do.
i have had everything the same with each grow.same bulbs and all.
and after 2 grows you suppose to change bulbs right.
but i just need someone else to try this and see.
im growing in soil the samething should happen in hydro right?
its not always knowing more its knowing how
So very true. Been growing since I was 21, last 10 indoors exclusively, now 58, so that is .... wow, like a lotta years, and I still learn something new every plant that I grow. Love to experiment.
I will say this though, I used to say the same thing about not worrying about the PH. I found myself wrong and my water source (city water even) can fluctuate greatly in 24 hours. Last week for example it was running 5.5, then it rained hard, and overnight the PH went up to 8. I took 3 days for it to come back down to the usual 6. I RO my water to remove excess Iron.
So, not sure about the ppm stuff as I soil, but PH can be a real problem for some folks. It took me 5 years to figure this out, by the way. And, yes, those companies are out there to sell nutes. The less I use the better I grow.

this is really BAD ADVICE to post in the basic growing fourm..........a way to check PH [kit or pen] is a fundamental tool for ALL growers and should be in EVERY beginners tool kit......MOST OF US CANNOT HAVE A STABLE ENVIRONMENT WITHOUT ONE.cannabis will only live within a narrow PH and only THRIVE in a narrower range still. most city tap water is NOT PH 7 you don't have a way to measure PH,what makes you think yours is???? BTW a PH of 7 is not good for hydro i suspect that hit and miss thing with the peat moss is droping the PH enough but without a ph reading how do you know when/how long to use it?listen to your plants? as for a EC/PPM meter your right it's not a necessity....many a fine crop has been and will be grown without one , however by using one many new growers can avoid many mistakes in regards to nute strength[??did i just add 3 teaspoons or 4 ??] and us old timers can analyze and tweek our solutions to fit the needs of our many verities/phenos.mantaning /knowing the nute level is part of a stable enviro. when creating a stable enviro if i had to chose between an EC meter and a temp/humid gauge i'd take the EC meter..........my skin can feel the temp but theres no way i'm tasting that water to see how much food is in it.o yeah.....i'v never read the grow bible ...what PH does it recommend for hydro?soil?soiless?
its not always knowing more its knowing how
see it took you five years of trying to dial in on ph. i am so glad you agree most tell i am stupid for not worrying about it. i have kept aquarium fish for years. they are ven more finicly about ph than plants. i tried many times to get my ph to go with the type of fish i wanted to keep. and i killed more than i could keep.
once i was able to just let the water keep to its own accord i was able to keep any fish i tried because my ph was stable. so now i never check my ph in my fish tank either

you've made a large number of post pushing this line of nutes.....do you work for them??? how about some PICS of ur grow so we can see for ourselves how will they do?? i like JACKS and MERICIAL-GRO and molasses... PHOSPHORIC ACID for ph down and potassium silicate for ph up..can it get any simpler ???

Ok. I've mostly bit my toung around the crap you write but this had crossed the line!
You are so full of shit I'm sure it's spilling out of your ears!
I spent several years caring for aquariums, and not just mine. I worked for a company and I personally was in charge of over 50 set-ups that I was responsible for in every fashion. If anything went wrong it was my fault, the owners, whether it be just a home owner with a 125g brackish or The Rainforest Cafe with a 15,000g reef ecosystem, they never did anything, it was my employers business that was responsible.
You posted let the water keep to its own accord i was able to keep any fish i tried because my ph was stable, this is so far away from being the truth that I actually laughed my ass off when I read it. Then, my wife came in and asked what I was laughing at, when I told her she almost pee'd herself laughing so damn hard. She's never been responsible for fish but just from hanging out w me during my old rounds she knows more than you...
Getting a few puffers, loaches, plecos, barbs or tetras to live in a homeostasis is easy compared to the set-ups I used to care for, but even that requires pH testing. Their is no way to let it go alone without extensive aquaponics and knowledge. The nitrogen cycle must be maintained at all expense you fucking idiot!
Just remember this: You can fool some people all the time, and you can fool all people some times, BUT YOU CAN NOT FOOL EVERYONE ALL THE TIME!
But go ahead and post your jibberish cause nobody likes you anyways :rastasmoke:
its not always knowing more its knowing how
how about going to 420 and telling docbud that.remember theres more than 13 different things that feed the plants at different ph

do you honestly believe that every person who handles your fish before you buy it worries about the correct ph of their tanks. they are so filled with all kinds of copper and zinc and other minerials to control parisites than they are worried about water quality. even the little guy with his net in the amozon is just tossing fish after fis into a barrel and with all the amonia in the barrel the ph is so low it is amazing a fish lives.
when was the last time you walked into petco and saw them doing a water quality test of any kind to their tanks. any petstore for that matter. but i am the fool. these fish have been breed so long in captivity that they can accept a wide range of ph. and you cant go wrong with neutral. you just cant do it.

and no i dont work for them i am just a believer in them and they make a very simple 3part solution with 3 add-ons. they have a very easy to understand feed chart, and a nute calculator that takes all the guess work out of it for you.
just look at the products made by advanced or from humbolt and where do you even start to decide on witch one to use and add to the other.
if one company is making just 1 simple to use product there is no need to worry about witch do i use next. very simple. and simple removes the human error factor witch is the number one cause of problems many of us have. humand error is a bitch

so....have you never grown with them or have you just never grown?? maybe some pics so we can see how happy ur plants [and fish] are!!;)

I was a GM at a local store for about a year, got hired on because of my experience with fish and worked my way up. I eventually stepped down then quit altogether due to the fact that I hated the paperwork and dealing with customers or employees that thought they knew everything but were basically so dense they couldn't pour piss out of a boot even if the instructions were written on the heel. Maybe some friends of yours?
Its true that they should be done daily but for a store with 7 mars systems, 21-42 tanks, the pH of each system is only checked bi-weekly on average.
And another thing, Even stores such as Petco and Petsmart will buy from a local, smaller, more dedicated vender before they purchase from a large farm operation so the fish are actually cared for a lot better that you think.
