Ok I'm a rookie and have made a huge mistake! 1 of my blackberry mothers is now 7 feet tall, and I wanted to put her into the secret jardin and bloom her under the 600, the tent only allows 5"3 after the light, any ideas? please be nice!

top it or bend it. I don't know there are any other choices
also, keep in mind, when you put it into flower, it's going to stretch... growing sometimes 50% taller.
you could tie it down so it's pretty much growing sideways. you can bend the shit out of them, even krimp the stems and they'll be fine. Just be as nice as you can.
A great method for bending is to use paper clips or wire of some sort and fishing weights. This way you can place the weight so the stems won't break and still allow them to grow. Hope this helps.
copobo is right, put it in there and bend the hell out of it and start training the new growth to cover as much horizontal space as possible, if done right it will be equal to 4-6 normal size plants.
7' is going to take a whole lot of pulling, tying down, or whatever to get it down to the 2 1/2 feet you will need it to be. I'm guessing you may have to cut it some.
It will double, then you have to have space for the light. Going to be a fun one whatever you end up doing :)
Thanks all for your in-fo! anyone no or heard anything about (super cropping)? worst thing is that it got this big under t-5's:wtf: I'm even slightly thinking about trying to fruit it under the same?
I bet you cant tell I'm new at this!:stoned::dance: thank you for not rubbing in my stupidity!!!!
you won't get good buds under t5's.
Honestly that's waay to big for a newbie & a tent.
I would take a bunch of cuts for clones, even if I had to give them away.
Guessing it might be your first time taking cuts, so do a little reading. It's not hard and if you need more straightforward answers ask here (there's a lot of what seems like conflicting info out there). Since it is probably the first time, take more cuts then what you need, and then take some more... You might get lucky and get all of them to survive but just in case... If they all survive, give some away to other patients (could always sell them I guess but giving them away builds karma). ;)
Keep one as your new mom - read up on keeping bonzai mothers.
Veg your new clones for a couple of weeks - get them well-rooted, then flip the switch on them.
Depending on the height of your system (buckets, pots, tray, etc...) will determine how tall you'll want those clones to grow. They'll probably at least double in height after the flip so factor that in.
Good Luck!
High Copobo, hope your having a good day! what do you mean, "top it" please explain? thanks:cool:
cut it in half. you could do that, make clones as suggested, and flower the bottom half.
If you 'supercrop', you basically trick the plant into thinking the top is dead or dying, so it concentrates growth at the lower sites.Quote:

You should read up on topping and supercropping, and even low stress training.
I could be incorrect too, this is just how I understand what copobo is saying.
Thank you very much all! I've decided to do the super crop, and am giving away the clones I save, have already found takers for the clones!!:jointsmile:;)
Nice!
Ok all thanks again for taking time to help:thumbsup: just wondering if a 600 watt light will bloom (well) this big of a plant? anyone with any experience? others are offering info on something like, take as many clones as possible, root them till there 12"-16" tall and then flower a tent full of 18"-24" colas? warning that 600 watts isn't enough for such a big plant, the bent or chopped method?? god I'm confused:upsidedow thanks!!:stoned:
the best buds will be nearest the light. within 2 feet. the very best even closer. (biggest/densest/stinkiest) so keep that in mind as you do what you do with your bending or pruning. Take your clones, then bend or prune, wait a week for the plant to recover from being chopped or a little more for new tops to develop, then go for it. (or keep it until you have clones rooted, as backup)
don't worry too much and keep your ph right :D
Its your first run, relax. Just grow it. Worry about what you can improve on for the next run. Keep a journal so you're not repeating mistakes. Might want to start reading up on drying & curing soon.
OK thanks to you. Why I'm active on this web-site. I plan to start growing on my own and your questions help me with my future (planting) planning. The posts by the members here have helped with my ongoing education.Quote:

I've learned that there are multiple threads on this site and elsewhere that thoroughly discuss the problems in this thread and other new grower mistakes, problems, etc.
It is worth your time, to the OP and other people new to the site, to browse other parts of this forum. There are entire boards dedicated to various grow methods, plant problems, and any other issue you can imagine.
If you have a question, it's been asked before and the answer is probably in an existing thread. This is just an FYI as there are many ways to do everything, so it's worth your time to get as many opinions as you can. Then make a decision on your own. You'll be more sure of your decision, because it's easy to blame failure or poor results on 'bad advice'.
With that said, it's still valid to come to these parts to get more local advice. Happy growing.

High All, well as the title states she's a little blackberry lady! never know until you flower! (from seed) she'll be my 1st "indoor grow that is":o and is looking pretty good so far, using soil because the hydro thing seemed like alot more work?
happyfarm and oceanfloor and all is well!! here are some pics, vegged her under t-5's for way to long!:stoned: but I still had to try to flower her!! so I chopped her and in the tent she went, it looks as if she's touching the 600, but all the tops are actually 2-3 inchs from touching due to tie-downs, going to be interesting, but I have to try!!
nice. good for you!
Well, good that its a girl! :hippy:Quote:

I'm still struggling with exactly how large I can vege plants in before flowering, and it's now going to get harder since I have a new 600 myself and am building a new area for both the 600 and 400.
But I can say she's already WAY too big for not only the 600 but the tent as well,.....
How far into flower is she? is stretch starting to settle down? (No experience with that strain)
Sorry for the rant.
More pics please.:rastasmoke:
