Anyone know where to get (online) a relatively cheap TDS and PH meter? ~40-50$ each? Local hydro store wanted 70$ for PH and 110$ for TDS!!!
Hannas seem to be what people go with, but they are pricey!
thanks.

go to eBay.... search for E/C or TDS meter around $30
yup deals can be found on e-bay but no matter where you get it make sure it is waterproof. First time it deceides to go swimming and the cost difference might explain itself ;)
thank you. i'll keep that in mind as things tend to jump out of my hands sometimes
Beg Borrow or steal, but don't cheapo on tools / meters.
Check out Bluelab They have this magic wand called " truncheon "
It's totally the best ppm meter in the world. Go on, bet me !
This requires NO calibration, NO solutions for calibrations,
automatic temp. comps. Read outs are in USA numbers and European numbers.
It gives you the E C which is converted right there,
in front of you, automatically, on the shtick ! :stoned:
:rasta: I just got one, now I am learning how to use it right. Does anyone have any pro's and Con's on this meter? I could use all the help I can get on this.
WackoWolf:rasta:
Hi
Yuhknow i posted a meter called Truncheon by Bluelab. This is by far the best
meter ever. Don't remember how i found it but it beats out anything i've seen
here yet.
This measures PPM's of your water. Measurements are converted to EC = PPM.
In this country we use ECx500 = PPM all done instantly converted.
No chemical solutions to calibrate it.
Stick it in the water or nute solution you want info. about and instantly know
your PPM's...This way you can mix up your nutrients and know the amount
you are adding.

Plus, who the fuk on piss bay, is gonna tell you about the science behind the
product that you see on e-bay....They never give the buyer enough info.
on whatever it is they are selling. It always requires more reseach on the
product you are looking at No ! ? So would it not be more sensible to buy
directly from the manufacturer ! ? That way if there's a problem you talk to
someone who knows the product.
" Truncheon " meter including shipping is 120ish $ NEXT !
Oh, come on gentlemen, all i'm saying is.... Hell, i'm not repeating
myself, yet again , i mean, it was right above,
ON THE SAME PAGE / POSTING ! ! ! ! and not even a peep about it !
.....further more, so i don't offend anyone here anymore, unless i'm asked
a specific ? directly, i just won't volunteer anymore info. Safe enough uh.
How could anyone trust a purchase of this sort ( meter ) being sold buy a
second ( or third ? ) party e-bay ! ? There's to much left up to chance.
It's not like you could test-drive uh ! ? Third party purchases do not carry
manufactures warranty on e-bay for a smart reason.
So, i do apologize to anyone i insulted.

Is there something wrong with the Milwaukee PH pen other than it only costs about $20 brand new from ebay?
You don't want the ones with the metal probes. :icon401:
Yeah, there is ! I've read alot of negative reviews about them. They do not last.
..Ebay Owns
I get everything form there: phones, car parts, game consoles.. never had a problem. you can even contact them before hand and see if they sound legit.
Just gotta be willing to search and keep in mind a few steps before buying: how long the person's been selling, how many items they've sold, what their feedback ratings are, where they're located, how they ship, and an overall abundance of info displayed on the page of the item they are selling.
They are mostly wholesaler's on Ebay and give automatic, and decent, discounts on items across the board.
In this recession.. 120$ is a lot of money for a lot of people, myself included. I need to find a good pen too, and im sure ill find one NIB that has a price range in the 'not too cheap -not too expensive' middle range
In no way am i talking down to you :D Ebay is my shit and it hurt to hear what u said lol. dont bother with a rant, i wont reply :D
That's cool, but those names Hannas and Milwaukee...I've read many reviews
on them and to many of their products go on the blink
around the warranty time.... Look, i really wish the best to all on Cannabis Forums. If you are here, it means you are contributing to society in positive
manner spreading goodness and fun. This activity can only lead to,
more of that, which leads to new discoveries and so on.
So let's keep it going. I'll attempt to not over-react ! !!
The ebay thingy ! SmokeMyPiece you've had great experiences with that,
keep it going. You are good at it, nice. Me, i wanna talk directly with the people
who MAKE the product i buy ! ! That's it ! that's the difference ! WOOOOOOOW ! I see now ! I have always done it this way, no matter what it is.
I always talk directly with a tech that knows the product i'm buying.
ALWAYS ! That's how i get results !
For instance. The ebb & flow system i bought. A level switch was not working
properly and the people that sold it could not trouble shoot it for me, so
it took some phone calls ( not texing ! ) to contact a manufacturer tech.
Got them to work it out with the distributors and
we straightened out the problem. They sent me a whole NEW controller!
Try that on ebay Ops ! sorry !

If i had the excess money to spend, sure i would always buy from a manufacturer, and rationalize it in your way; that you knowingly will be able to contact someone and fix or get reimbursed.
That being said, how often does something go wrong with the items you are buying? See, if i can get a discounted (a lot of times ebay= 15-25%) item NIB from that same company, thru a wholesaler, it will put my mind at ease in knowing i didnt pay for a manufacturers hiked up price.
Youve got 3-4 posts in a row advertising for the pen you bought, as well as pretty much saying dont buy anything but that... It seems like you are trying to justify your reason for buying the 'truncheon' for 120$, putting Your mind at ease..
Just cause you payd more dont mean nothin:thumbsup:
ps. what did you pay for the ebb & flow? DIY = 80% cheaper in most cases.
You funny bastard ! ! No, i don't have any regrets buying that " Truncheon "
cuz i use it when i travel as well !
You're funny !
Yeah, you are 100% correct on the Ebb & FaFaFueyFlow system.Close to 500$
....but but but, I was in a hurry ! ! In the future though,
i will definitely build my own. Damn i can't believe how simple they are !
I'll be adding additional systems for other cultivations ! Roses and food !
Tinytooner has got it going on uh ! He did it up right. Prawly many others
but his i think was the last i looked at.
Creativity and Imagination, that's what i like about this site too.
$15 ones off ebay work fine for me. I'll take my chances on dropping it, or it not lasting forever.
people starting to get way to excited around here :wtf:
Hahaa -in my best Dave Chapelle voice,
I Keeps It Real!
Yeah, but what happens when keeping it too real goes wrong? Then what?
