Hi all,
I am worried about harvesting too early, I was wondering if anybody here can tell me if this is ripe... this is the 8th week of flowering...

Get a scope. By judging by looks is a newb thing to do. All strains and genetics have different harvest times that look different from another by the naked eye. I've had all hairs turn brown and look over ripe but the crystals were still young.
Cig is right. You need a scope. But I will make it easy for you. No doesn't look ready to me. Give it a week. Then pull one bud off. let it dry naturaly, then test it out. That will take another week. By then she will be ready.
You can't unharvest a plant. You can fuck yourself and your smoke by harvesting early. Besides how many times have you heard people bitching about harvesting late? A lot fewer times than you have heard people bitching about harvesting early.
I know it doesn't look great, but to me it's still a beauty because I am a total newbie :)
When in doubt wait it out... you just need experience,,, pick to soon now and next time it won't happen... You don't need a Mic with experience the plant just tells you with a amber glow...
I call bullshit. Looks good to me.Quote:

less than 20 dollars for a "mini pocket scope" sold at radio shacks and many, many other places....they have a 30-100 zoom and also have a nice bright light...
peace
When over 50% of the pistils (hairs) growing on the bud change color, you can harvest. That is the method I use. They usually turn a brown or orange color depending on the strain. Some get pink, purple, and even red.
See all the brown hairs on her? Over 50%. She is ready.
....
thats pretty much completely wrong.Quote:

by the way your bud looks great for being new at it.
Keep up the good work!! And check those trichs not the hairs!
