4 Plant first grow grow log (White Ruski)

Okay, so I've been asking a lot of questions on here about my plants, and you all have been very helpful. But i want to start a grow log, take pictures, have hopefully you more experienced growers can help me along the way.

Im doing a total of 4 indoor plants. I ordered the seeds off an European website and the are called "White Ruski" They are Indica / Sativa (Indica dominant). The website says they are a mix of AK47 and White Widow. Also it says "The THC content is considered very, very high + 20%. The plant will do well indoors and out."

Anyway...
I started 2 them on Tuesday, June 22nd, and I decided to start 2 more on Friday, June 25th. The first 2 i started out in paper towels, and the second 2 i didn't. I don't know if that has that much to do with it, but the first 2 seem to be doing way better then the first 2.

Heres a list of what I am using:

- PRO-MIX ULTIMATE ORGANIC for the soil
2 Gallon pots, with rocks in the bottom
2 box fans
400w MH light (Just switched from a 108w Florescent light)

The lights are being kept on for 16 hours a day, and completely dark for the other 8 hours. The PH of the water is about 6. I mixed 4 gallons of water, and 10 tablespoons of "American Pride" fertilizer for the water, although i just read its bad to let the water sit like that. The temperature in the room is about 88, I know that's VERY hot, after i get paid Saturday im going to get an air conditioner for the room.

As you can see, some of the leaves are curling and are a little discolored. Does anyone know what this could be from?

So if anyone can give me ANY helpful tips along the way it would be highly appreciated. I know the heat is WAY the high, but the past few days have been about 95 degrees here, so its bad. I am getting an air conditioner for the room on Saturday or Sunday.

I cant figure out how to edit my post, but this line is supposed to read:

Tips or tricks? Anyone?

Lift the light higher until you get your ac in the room & knock that temp down.
Go easy on the nuits, you might be burning them. Rule of thumb dont give the full amount as it says on direction. Give a 1/4 of what it says & work your way up. Maybe guys in here with more experince can help you better but thats what I see.

yeah, ill go lift that light right now. A buddy of mine told me to use half of what it says on the nuits, and hes been growing for about 3 years. i didnt really understand why i should use half, so i used a bit more then half. but ill knock it way down, i didnt know that over feeding plants can hurt them. Thanks :)

How is it going so far? I just ordered these seeds and excited to grow them. I saw they have a quick flowering stage(50-62 days?), just seeing how long you are gonna veg and everything. Cheers

Allright...So you are seeing the older leaves curl and die. This is the norm when growing seedlings. But, you are overlooking something missing in your nutrient schedule. CAL MAG. I was having this very problem when I first started growing from seeds. It helps big time.

Hey guys, sorry i haven't updated this in a while, but Ive been busy. I JUST took pictures of the plants. They have now been growing for 1 month and 1 week. The plant that was messed up, is still messed up. It has brown curling leaving, and i cant figure out why. I'm not doing anything different to that plant, its just not growing right. I tried what "Martyrprojekt" said with the CAL MAG, so i added just a little bit of Molasses to the water that im watering that plant with. So, here are some pictures of that the plants are looking like now.

This is the tallest plant, its 26 inches. Its growing about 1.5inches everyday.

Im watering all 4 of these plants 2 or 3 times a day. Once with fertilized filtered water, then next time with just filtered water, then back to fertilized and so on. they are still under the 400w MH light for 16 hours a day. In 3 weeks it will be 2 months, and i plan on switching the light cycle from 16/8 to 12/12 to induce budding.

This is my first grow, and im very open to tips and helpful things. So, if anyone has any good information, please post it. Thanks :)

Though you mite want to find out whats the burning and curling about mine did that and now its only got a top left all the leaves fell off practically dead ><

Tonight I decided to check the PH of the runoff water, it was about about 4.5! so I flushed all the plants with really high PH water. It took about 3 gallons per plant. Now the run off water is about 6.5. Hopefully they'll all be doing better in about a week :)

Looking good man, I am gonna continue to watch. My White Ruski seed should be coming soon!!!! I wish I had the space you had, I got a little make shift closet with CFLs. One day I will be a big boy like you, haha.

Ha, i dont have that much room, its nothing compared to some of the grows I've seen on here.

And oturbojoeo4o, your grow is looking great.

3 out of the 4 plants are doing great. But the one messed up plant, is just getting worse. I have no clue why, im not doing anything different to it. :/

Whats happening?
I would highly recommend watering your plants only once every 2-3 days......And give it just enough water to produce a slight amount (10 %) of run-off.
Fertilize every other time and just plain water in between......

Letting the top of the soil get completely dry before watering is ideal.

So today I noticed that my one plant that is doing really bad, isnt soaking up the water. When i water the plants, only about 10% runs off the 3 goodones. But about 90% runs off the bad one, and I have NO clue why. So I just got done repotting the bad one. I dumped it out, filled the pot back up with soil, and replanted the plant keeping most of the routs intact. When i watered it, about 10% ran off like the others, so lets hope this helps :)

In 12 days my plants will be 2 months old, there are 3 of them that are 3 feet high, and the one thats doing really bad is 2 feet high. here are some pictures:

So, my question is when should I begin flowering? I've planned to do it at the 2 month mark.

Okay, so I started flowering. Plants are still growning an inch or two a day. Ill post pics tomorrow. How long till can expect to see some bud?

your going to see an explosion in the nexts couple of weeks. The plants are going to stretch and elongate at the stems, doubling or trippling in size. Around week 2(maybe a little earlier) you will start to notice that all of your growing tips are starting to sprout white hairs. Those are the buds my friend. Over the remaining weeks all of the budsites grow and fatten up, creating the giant colas you are looking for.:thumbsup: Resin production will start at around week 2 1/2(its very strain related, each one is different. but will peak in the last 3 weeks of flowering.

Looking great man. You got a forest going on now. I am excited to see how the flowering goes. I just got my WR seeds in the mail. I am growing some brainstorm now, and then starting them. Can't wait to see your finished product. I heard it is some bomb bud!

Looking good man. Did you cut the watering down. You were watering like 400% too much. Cannibis likes to go through almost wet and dry cycles. When you water look for about 10% run off then dont water again until soil is almost dry. NOT TOO DRY just not soaked. The reason your one plant was running most of the water off is the soil was saturated and the plant couldnt make use of it all. Watering three times a day is a sure way to get root rot. Some people go as far as to weigh there pots after watering then continue to check weight until the pot weiight is a like 75% less then when just watered. I dont do this but i use a moisture meter in my soil I purchased from my local hydro store. Takes the guess work out and its easy. I use 5gal pots and water about every 3 days about a galon a plant and my girls are 4ft tall and flowering like crazy on there 4th week of 12/12 under 1000w hps. Hope this helps. Lookin great so far though. Oh and definatly dont hit them with nuets every day. :rasta:

male plants grow tall to drop pollin on the others so watch for that.

The plants are about 5 feet now. 2 weeks into flowing. Im using the whole foxfarm line, and a touch of grandma's unsulphured molasses.

that is not Nutrient burn. Its from heat stress. Either your temp's are way too high or its the closest cola to the light and its getting scorched.

yeah, the two back ones are the strongest and they eat a ton. how much do you think i can get out of them?

Too soon to give a accurate number on yield. I can tell you right now that your gunna need to stake some of those branches up. When they get heavy your big colas are going to fall over.

Yeah, ive already figured that. Ive seen pictures where people have theirs help up by strings. Ill probably put a few nails in the wood support beams above the plants and tie them to the nails with some string.

I just went over a friend of a friends house, and he told me I should get about 2 pounds. I know thats basically only possible outside, so I know im not going to get 2 pounds. But, I have 4 plants that are 59 inches tall right now, they are 2 weeks into flowering, im using everything from the foxfarm line, and a 400w HPS light...can someone give me a clue on what I might yeild?

1oz. ... then you wount get let down...dont wana get your hopes up. 2Lbs is a lot, dont think thats gona happen. What if some one told you that you will get 300 to 350 grams...then you only got only 100 grams, that would suck so i say dont bother trying to figure your yield intill you atleast chop em down. 1 gram per watt is prime, so maby that will help you.

Ive been reading more like .5 grams per watt. But does that mean per plant?

Like if i get .5 grams per watt, with a 400w light, then thats 200g. But, do i get 200g per plant to total 800g?

Total, not per plant...unless you super crop.

Remember not to drown your plants in the future man. They sound a little tall for 2 gallon buckets but upgrading now will probably cost you a lot of time.

Yea i wouldn't listen to your friend, your not going to get anything close to 2 pounds. Buds look really big when they're wet and on the plant but they shrink up to nothing. There are also 101 things that could go wrong before harvest comes, so I always try and stay humble until I have dried cured buds.


I would say that a 1/2 pound would be more like it, but that might even be pushing it. Its your first grow so don't have huge expectations on yielding like a champ right now. That comes with time.


Its really hard to even say right now because its still early in flowering.

I think drudown is correct. I don't mean to rain on your parade but you are more likely going to see only maybe an ounce or so of dried bud per plant considering what has gone on with that grow up to this point.

Don't let it get you down though- four or six ounces of nice bud on your own and from your first grow is not something to be ashamed of. Growing indoors isn't as simple and many people seem to think it is. If you keep trying you'll probably do much better on successive grows. Like drudown said though, lots of stuff can still go wrong. Watch your technique and whatever changes you make in the future. If you jump around all over the place it is going to take longer for you to learn how to consistently have good grows. 101 things can happen and probably will.

Nobody is raining on my parade. I expect to get about 2-3 ounces per plant. They are 5 feet high...

Unfortunately height does not always translate into the amount of quality bud you're going to have at harvest.

Good luck though. Maybe you'll be able to turn it around before harvest day arrives!

I dont know why people are saying things like that, theres nothing to turn around. The plants are really healthy.

I have a question though. My back two plants are flowering great. But, the front two are 2.5 weeks into flowering and are barely showing signs of flowering. They are females, becuase the are flowering, but just BARELY. any clue why?
