Just ordered Rockwool Cubes and..........

I have got a 200watt flower envirolite and a 125 watt veg envirolite with reflector, 3 pc fans, 1 digital timer, small plant pots and quite big plant pots, a thermometer, ph test kit, a water bottle sprayer and put the walls in silver kitchen foil.

Now i was wondering what else i would need to grow in some Rockwool Cubes i am going to order canna aqua a&b fertilizers 4 the grow and bloom stage.

The grow room is in my bedroom, so i had to make it 5.5 foot tall, 2.1 foot in lengh and 2 foot in width.

or would it be easier 4 me to grow in some descent soil?

if your experienced, hydro is kool. but if your the newbie kind, try soil. you bought all this anyway so go for it!

Do i need 1 of them black tank things to grow with cubes or could i just do it on a desk?

how u planning to run those 3 pc fans? using a computer psu? or...
mellows right. 1st grow try organic. make sure you get decent soil. the canna range of soil is well worth the premium

Im goin to run the pc fans by a power lead going into the seperate big boxed fan with 2 little cpu fans on top of the big metal boxed 1, yeah i was thinking of gettin that canna organic soil mix with the canna terra fertilizers, seem good just pricey to buy. cheers.

the aluminum foil walls are useless....that's mylar you see in pictures (that really reflective stuff)...tin foil hardly even reflects any light...you'd be better off getting some white paint and painting the walls..

I'm gonna say do 4 plants at a time, to give space, roughly 1 square foot per plant...and even then their leaves may touch a little, but i don't think it'll matter...you're working with 4 square feet there, and you want about 30 or 40 watts of light per square foot, so according to my calculations you need roughly 120 to 160 watts of light for an optimal light scenario...though lumens is more accurate than watts since it is an actual measure of light intensity and not power output...but 140 watts of light should do you just fine if you use flourescents...don't ask me about any hps or mh...all i know beyond flourescents is DO NOT USE halogen....

4 plants seems right. If you plan on doing hydro it way be a bit tricky to find a 2X2 resevoir (and if you want 2.1X2 forget it) I am sure there are 2 foot square containers, just never seen them, may have to mold your own container, or maybe a circle with a 2 foot diameter, but then only 3 or 2 plants. With this little room and so few plants I would suggest using clones or femized seeds so you get all females with buds, and no dud men. Since you are new to growing, if you do indeed get clones, get rooted clones so you don't have to worry about them not rooting. seeds are easier to find and can be boughten off the internet. For a small space you will want a 50/50 indica sativa plant because it will not strech like a sativa and not be as bushy as an indica.
Of course you way go down the road with soil, since you will most likely use a round container, you would have to grow 3 only. I would get a 5 gallon pot, they have a diameter a little under 2 feet, and with that size you grow 3 evenly spaced plants. I know this for a fact as I have done more in less and gotten 3 ounces a plant. 4 in a 3 gallon, it can be done, but dont do it this dense as a newbie as it was a bit hard to keep them healthy and nice, but it was done well. So don't lissen to the thought that plants CANNOT be grown 2 or 3 per pot, but 1 is indeed ideal :)

First pf all I have go to say cheers to every 1 who has helped me out, secondly i have just got a VEG 125watt envirolite delivered with the E40 fitting and the plug, but i got no reflector for it, is there anything that will be the same as a reflector and hold it up srong, if not is there any way i can still use it without a reflector?

The only thing I can recommend is getting some white contact paper and cover the walls inside the thing, or paint it (but air it out good before growing). If you cover all the walls with white, it will reflect in every direction. You'll need a lot of bright light with that, or get mylar which is supposedly very reflective.

Jadeius i have taken your advise on the wall reflection, i have also descided that i am going to use rockwool cubes instead of buying soil cause to tell you the truth i cant afford nothin apart from the fertilizers now, (i am broke), is it true that all i need is like a grill peice or or some type of gauze stuff so i can let them drain, and if so how many times shall i water and fertilizer? cheers again :)

well, here's my setup, and it's MINIMAL...I'm not growing hydro, I'm using soil, it's balanced and intended for african violets, promotes their flowering...I got it at wal-mart because it was very cheap...my little babies grew right away in that shit...I'm growing 2 plants under ONE 42w flourescent light, I'm pretty sure it's cool white light...says it looks like 200w incandescent...one has grown over a foot tall in less than 5 weeks...I've been using miracle-grow, which I really shouldn't because the soil has slow-release nutrients...I recently flushed out the soil because I was suspicious of too much ferts, and now they look great...the other is a polyploid (grows 3 leaves instead of 2 at a time)...they're really doing good, growing secondary branches at the nodes, and I've topped them...I just keep them in a corner in my room behind a guitar amp where the white walls reflect light...they seem to love it...

bio bizz all mix soil is great 100% organic used with bio grow/bloom/topmax you carnt go wrong.
i use envirolites and am very impressed with them..

hi im growing white widow, it's 2 feet tall and has 2 big top grow tips. i'm not shore if im using the correct fertilzer im using african violet which has an npk of 12,36,14. If you do have any advice could you please email me on [email protected] many thanks:)

MasterG, Hydro should be grown after soil. PH is extremly important in Hydro as well nutrient levels. Do soil first.

yeah, there's no way i would have gotten the results i have with my first grow with hydro, it take a lot of your time and care and patience...

but to answer lucas03's question, i used soil for african violets on my first grow, still using it actually...it was like a dollar for a bag of it, so cheap, but it works, keep it loose, repot at least twice during the plant's life because that soil will compress and deprive the roots pretty easily, keep the soil loose in other words

you could get some miracle gro if they're flowering now, there are nutrients in that soil, but i used miracle gro along with it with good results, just feed it pure water the last week or two before you harvest to get all the plant food taste out...my first shit was DAAAAANK mo'fuckas!
