Obviously I want to hear some funky music while tripping, but does the music also help prevent having a bad trip?
depends on the kid of music. if u listen to something mellow like the dead it will. but if u listen to like marylin manson or some whacked out gothic shit (no offense to any gothic ppl), than it could lead u in the wrong direction in your trip
how about trance? or that happy eurodance trendy techno.
does uplifting music almost garuntee a good trip? Most the time I listen to music I feel good, so I'd think so.
I was definetly gonna have some grateful dead, string cheese incident, and some soft classical on the side for backup, I hear the dead gives great vibes, I can see why, the music is so mellow and pleasant.
phish, dead, beck, talking heads, cake, MMW (very cool), oysterhead, velvet underground are all excellent band to trip to
so i assume that music indeed does really affect the mood and pleasantness of the trip?
never done acid but on shrooms i like to listen to tool and floyd
check out the song everything by limp bizkit...its on 3 dollar bill yall...this track is insane!
tool and pink floyd would be great for u to trip on acid id suggest radiohead as well as some beatles and hendrix. try getting some chill out music like buddha bar its amazing
definitely pink floyd,, fine again and broken by seether are good songs,, just keep the volume down to a mellow kinda sound.dead, bob marley if ur gona tripp outside
I love hip hop but was raised a Deadhead so invariably GRATEFUL DEAD perfect place to start out if your new to acid. Find a choice '68 '69 or '72 and '74, brain food all the way! If i hadda listen to hip hop I'd wanna go with something like "Low End Theory" by Tribe Called Quest or "Resurrection" by Common. Listening to 50 Cent or some such shit would cause me to bang my head against the wall! These days I've been using the following artists in my entheogenic journeys...DUNGEN a great psych/rock band from Sweden very cool!, Ravi shankar especially MASTERS OF INDIA or any good tabla music, TIMOTHY LEARY especially "The Psychedelic Experience" recently re-issued on cd, some choice live Phish, Hendrix, Dylan or Airplane. I also enjoy a deep goa or trance but that was never my bag, I figure that is more "Club music" and goes more with "club drugs" like X, ketamine, etc. I think a sick visual experience is good too like watching "The Grateful Dead Movie" or if you can even find it on dvd "Sunshine Daydream." The (in)famous Grateful Dead concert from 1972 benefitting Kesey in Veneta, OR. How many people have even seen "Sunshine Daydream?" I have an old VHS copy and it provided many great experiences! Next time i do shrooms i plan on utilizing my PHISH IT dvd to guide my journey what a sick dvd that is! Phish's "Vegas" dvd is also a great tripping companion, I prefer live music movies as opposed to actual movies unless it's something that is good while tripping. i find it hard to follow movies while tripping.
+ Floyd, Allman Brothers, Zappa, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, and if you're into jazz you already know what kinda jazz to nab.Quote:

if ur gonna watch a movie,, definately make it ,,,, LEGEND by bob marley,,, and the wall,, but thet might be a bad tripp waiting to happen ,,cuz of all the violence,, i think id just die
Yeah, stay away from The Wall while you're tripping.
I'd go with Being John Malkovich or Easy Rider or something.
theres a movie about ,,, errrr,,, woodstock and it has alot of great music to listen to when ur trippin,, i also found it kinda spiritually mind changing when i watched it on shrooms....,.,,,,,,,,,,
I like to listen to, on drugs, the following. Plus more probably.
Pink Floyd, The Dead, The Who, Allman Brothers, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Hendrix, Explosions in the Sky, Mike Bloomfield, Phish, Widespread Panic, The Beatles..Catch-22.
Etc.
Just make sure the music would be something you would normally listen to, that puts you in a good mood, keep the mood mellow while you are tripping.
There have been many good suggestions posted here, but we don't want to overlook one of the best acid albums of the 1960's.
One of the most often used albums for tripping was the legendary "Electric Music for the Mind and Body", by Country Joe and the Fish. According to "Country Joe" McDonald, years ago, it was tested extensively with acid and is ā??guaranteedā? to work.
Iā??ve got a mint vinyl copy, just waiting for the appropriate opportunity to be played.
Itā??s on CD, but there have been some 180-gram, as well as standard, vinyl reissues over the years.
I forgot to mention, do NOT watch "Gimmee Shelter" on acid. I dropped some when it first came out and went to see it in the theater, by myself. I had to leave about 25% into the film and walk around for a while to straighten my head out from the hideous, violent images in this documentary LOL! It's an OK film for weed, though.
i have that cd man. i couldnt find it in a store so i had to order it online. it is definatley awesome. i didnt think anyone else knew about itQuote:
