Realy weird experience, need help.
ok well lets see how to start this off. first off i have been a mmj patient for the last year, but i have been a heavy smoker for the last 8 years. so this isnt a "first timers" experience. now, to the topic. so the other day im over helping a friend get a customers car done. we were working probly a good ten hours and then later that night we went in the house to smoke. i took a hit of "indy 1" and seemed to taste good, no problems. then when i took the 2nd hit, things got realy weird.
you know how if you stand up to quick, you get a "headrush" and your vision gets kinda "fuzzy" and you dont see for a second untill it clears away?
well when i took that 2nd hit, i coughed for a second, then when i opened my eyes i could not see at all. when i opened them, all i could see was the "fuzz". thats the only way i can describe what it was like. it lasted a long time as well, probly around 10 minutes, but i cant say a set number. they had to help sit me down, and when i could start to see again, i remember them saying i was sweating realy bad.
this was the first time this had happened so im realy lost and dont know what this is or why it happened. if anyone out there has ever experienced this before or has some knowlege to share, please let me know.

"you know how if you stand up to quick, you get a "headrush" and your vision gets kinda "fuzzy" and you dont see for a second untill it clears away?"
Um, no!
That is not "normal".
It's what you call, a symptom.
Low blood pressure and dehydration can cause that if it gets bad enough.
So can restricted blood flow to the brain.
Actually, there are several conditions that cause these symptoms and two of them are quite serious.
So, might be nothing, but no get dis kine advice from your peers.
Go see a real doctor is the best advice they can give ya.
Aloha and stay well.

well i have a history of dehydration problems. never thought much of it. maybe i should go see the doc then. im the stupid fuck that will let things go untill its to late.

Realy weird experience, need help.
You might have been coughing very hard, and had your eyes closed extremely tight, pushing the blood out of your receptors temporarily. Similar if you rub your eyes really hard and it gets a bit fuzzy.
Either way, go to a doc, see whats up, no sense in guessing.

Sounds like a low blood pressure gray out to me. Like the others, maybe consider seeing a doc if it happens again, otherwise use weed you know where it came from.

well your right, i found out that i have low blood pressure and a high heart rate. hence why i have a history of dehydration problems. but it was weird that this was the first time this had happened cause ive been a heavy user for the last 8 years...but i think its time i stop for my health. mmj does help me in many ways, but if i have a abnormal heart rate well then mj isnt gona help that...
its like they say, all good things must come to an end i guess.
mj can HELP everyone in some way, but its not MEANT for everyone.

It's a symptom called orthostatic hypotension- a fancy word for a sudden drop in blood pressure when someone stands up or changes positions too quickly.
This can be caused by a combination of many factors, including but not limited to low blood sugar, dehydration, overheating, anxiety, and... being stoned. You should be fine if it happens occasionally, it does to many people (including me!)
If it persists despite none of these factors, or becomes an issue, go to your GP. They'll do an orthostatic set of blood pressures- another fancy medical term for taking your blood pressures while laying down, sitting, and standing, and comparing the differences between them. If it's enough, they'll do further testing.
More likely than not, it's just a minor thing. Annoying, yes, but prevention of the above mentioned topics should help!

I get those head rushes from time to time when I get up from laying down... Cant really remember when it started, but it was before I smoked. I'm in the best shape of myself, very athletic, low heart rate when I'm idle, but I still get those head rushes..
I've never lost complete sight from smoking, but there was one time it got very fuzzy and I needed to sit for 5. It went away and never came back.
In my opinion, if you wanted to continue smoking just do it in moderation. Instead of getting really stoned, just get a bit high ... if that makes sense haha. IE avoid gravities. You could also choose a mellow strain, with a low % of sativa.

Orthostatic hypotension is the term for that.
G13, the elevated pulse is the first indication you are dehydrated and your bodies first attempt to keep your cells in your body healthy and well oxygenated. After the pulse can no longer keep up, the BP starts to fall.
As a paramedic the first thing I looked for in a patient that could be bleeding on the inside from a car wreck was what their pulse was doing (among other stuff). It was a quick indicator that only took moments to feel and get my info.
(Damn I miss that career, it was sooo cool)
I suggest you work on getting your dehydration issues corrected. Drink more fluids. A normal resting pulse in a healthy person is 60-80

well as a youngin (12-16) i had a handfull of heatstrokes over the years but they could never tell me why. i have always been athletic, but not well-conditioned, meaning i weigh 150LBs but could never run for long periods of time, like 5 minutes and i was getting wore out, and in the case of when i played basketball id always get extremely lightheaded from running up and down the court, and get that fuzzy vision sometimes. after high school i seemed fine because i wasnt doing anything anymore but just turning wrenches at work(mechanic), so i never noticed or thought anything wrong. BUT, 2 years ago i crashed my car into a tellephone pole at about 40mph head on. my chest crushed and broke my steering wheel. i cant explain the pain it caused to my chest, it felt like i was broken and i literaly could not move without it causing major pain, even when i breathed in and out it was very harsh pain... well anyways my point is, the docs said i was fine, they couldnt find any broken ribs, but said they couldnt tell if any were fractured. i was told the inside lining of my chest was just intensely bruised. but i can feel the left side of my ribcage "sticking out" farther then my right side. they never "found" anything wrong. and since then ive had bad insomnia, easy brusing, noticed blood in stool-multiple times but not "alot", nose bleeds, constant dyarihea, low urination, headaches, fatigueness, short of breathe, heavy feeling lungs, phlem in throat, and cough, but when i go in to the hospital they just tell me im fine...i think i should tell them about the low blood pressure bein a possible cause, because they dont know how to realy "diagnose" someone properly here and "find" out whats wrong with you, and its made me quit going. do you think they will actualy try and help me this time now that i have an idea what it is washougal? well thanks anyway

Was this your first time smoking this strain? You described the vision part the way a person would get a head rush from standing up too quick. Did you actually get a headrush, or did you only experience the fuzzy vision and sweating?
Some strains are known to bring on ocular migraines, and not many people know about them. It's not painful like a normal migraine, but it interupts vision like you described and brings on the sweating. This tends to happen to me when I smoke indicas, which is normally why I stick to the sativas. I hate that vision crap, because then it creates a whole new anxiety for me.
Just something to consider, however what most people on here say about blood pressure, dehydration, etc. makes more sense.

... and with the large-amounts-of! water, I'd also make sure you got a bit more salt in ya. IODISED salt. You may be lacking in this trace mineral...

this was my friends cannabis that he grows and he called it "indy1" so yes it was indica. after i took the 2nd hit, my vision went 100% "gray out-fuzzy", just like when i stand up to quickly, it usualy gets a lil fuzzy but goes right away. but this was a 100% no vision at all for like 5-10 minutes and i was sweating like crazy i gues. i remember feeling realy weak i think too. ive smoked alot of GOOD indicas and never had any problems like this before, or with any weed in general... im used to smoking very high quality BBerry, purp kush, AK47, and a pure indica from a different source(mmj friend) and ive never had any problems but coughing my lungs up(haha that strong of shit) and this stuff is 100 times better then what i had smoked this night that it happened.

a lack of salt? never thought of that one, thank you for your input covert. apreciated.
im tryin my best health wise to make sure now that i get all my minerals and vitamins, cause obviously my body must be having a huge deficiency along with the dehydration, low blood pressure and abnormal heart rate.

Well G13, I cannot say. Interesting case there, the pulmonary contusion (lung bruise should have no long lasting effect, actually none of the stuff you mention fits.
My suggestion is find a General Practicioner, talk to the doc. Let the doc figure out. Be honest, describe clearly. I hope you have a good one, this sounds very unique. The GP will probably do some tests and might refer you.
Cannot say, none of what you describe makes any sense to me with my limited medical knowledge which is limited to the level of Paramedic.
I would also monitor my blood pressure and pulse rate at the time of the blood pressure for the doctor between now and then. Time of day, maybe 3 different times of day.
Salt can cause you to retain water. Too much salt and you will pee it off and maybe make things worse. We are all lay docs here, I think you need a real doc to sort this out.

I only mention it because I have had some of the same health issues as yourself, and came across a study one day a couple of years ago on the 'net by a gentleman who was unfortunate enough to find himself imprisoned in one of our contemporary concentration camps, and, as a doctor, found himself thrust into the unfortunate role as 'camp inmate doctor'.
How much help or supplies do you think they gave him? ...In the current (or recently passed) Middle East...
He persevered. After a while, interestingly, he found that 85% of his patients could be treated with a combination of an increase of water intake, and an increase of salt, with attention paid to making sure the patient's iodine quotient was decent...
He voluntarily stayed in the camp two years (iirc) after his sentence was up, merely to complete his study...
Gotta love science. True Science... no matter where it comes from.

well those were "symptoms" i notice i still have, may not exactly be from the wreck, just stuff ive noticed. well ill have to find a good doc cause the ones here in this town are worthless, unless you have the "H1N1" like they told me last time i was sick....but anyways the only good docs in this state are in seattle and i know thats way out of the reach for me, so ill have to settle with someone in my area, but ill find out who has a good reputation and try. i checked the notes from the day after my wreck(only notes i have right now) and my BP was this over a course of 2.5 hours or so...126/80, 123/61, 112/57, 120/77, 133/69, 114/62. are these normal? i will dig up more recent docs that have my BP on them and compare them to these numbers

Hey dude, I am almost positive you have figured out why you had this problem, because I have had the same thing happen two times now.. Its like almost passing out/blacking out but with out losing consciousness.. kinda scary.
You probably just didnt have enough energy in your system (food/water)
This has actually happened to me too. I am almost positive that you were dehydrated or didnt eat because, both times that happened to me, that was the case! And you already mentioned not eating that day.
Just make sure you eat and drink properly now and you should not experience that again! Peace dude

I agree big time. A long time ago we were all smoking in this kitchen and i found myself on the floor with my back against the chair i was sitting in. When i open my eyes, everyone was all huddled in the corner across the room. My head hurt and they all looked freaked out. They said i just slid out of the chair and my head kept banging against that chair. I ask why the hell you guys let me bang my head so long, but got no answer.
Then one other time in high school my friend and i blew about 4 joints before school. It wasn't very good at all and i didn't feel buzzed at all, but first class was study hall. I was feeling strange, so i put my head on the desk, but didn't feel any better. I ask to go to the shitter and walked out into the hall and everything started spinning and was in colors. I felt along the wall an found the door, opened it and fell with one leg and one out. Was freaking, thinking a teacher would see me i crawled in and sat on the pot. I was sweating an dizzy but it wore off.
And then another time 2 of my friends and i smoked a couple. We got a buzz and were leaving. We got to the car and i just fell down. They said, i just went out.
29 years later and not one of those things has ever happen again, im glad as shit too, cuz it gives me too much not to use it. I guess it comes down to choose it and let that bad experience happen and quit or keep smoking like i did. But being legal, you can ask, but not sure you will get the answer you want to hear. I blaim mine on a basic head rush, just wasn't a normal one.
Good luck bro:rasta:

120/80 is their normal but mine is like 88/63, but using a chair will slow the blood presure down, sorta like its taken at rest, or in bed.

G13 Those are all 'normal' pressures. Look, I found a great GP in frickin Camas off the beaten path. I got away from the big clinic types. This dude is MY kinda doctor. I often have to wait extra for my appointment, but, I am assured when it is my turn the doctor LISTENS to me.
This guy figured out that all Statin drugs are 75% of my daily pain and I feel so much better, heart attack and all, from getting off of them. You have to find a doctor who CARES, and they are so hard to find now, most have a bedside manner of a brick...at best.
Good luck dude, I am wondering if you just got some bad weed, there seems recently to be a rash if funny responses to toking

...Pounds is obviously a fuckhead. I understand the reasons for your concern, and tho it might just be an extra-big headrush, it could also be an indicator of something else... gotta agree with WashougalWonder in that you should find a doctor who truly cares about his Hippocratic Oath, and his patients, and therefore, you.
You should also do some research yourself, to see if you can figg'r it out ahead of 'im. I like to try the easy things first... upping one's water intake is really not too hard to do, and you should be able to find salt (and a multivitamin or two) without too much work :P
Oh, and never try to reason with a fuckhead. You can't. That's why we call 'em fuckheads... ;)

When you see the Doctor again, be sure they do a check on your blood count. I had all the symptoms you mentioned when I was diagnosed with Anemia. I'm not saying you have Anemia. I'm just sharing my personal experience I had with the symptoms you mentioned.
Good luck at the doctor's!

This happened to me too (a couple times actually)
I usually just take a few days off to clear my body and mind of built-up "stuff" and i'm usually back to normal in no more than 4 days.
