Is the New Mexico Med cannabis program creating a new class of criminal

I have PTSD, and I got on the program to use cannabis so I could cut down on antidepressants and eventually stop taking them all together. The trouble is, for me to do this I must be confident that I have a good reliable steady supply of meds.

Many people are in my same position. With such low product output by the program, most are forced to buy from the black market.

I have had older folks who use meds for pain ask me if I can find them some street cannabis.

Without quick action by the people who pull the strings, New Mexico is creating a new breed of law brakers. I'm talking about people who would never have tried cannabis without the protection of the state of New Mexico.

Because of the slow pace of production and, and the amount of folks in the program, and growing at a very fast rate, nothing but bad things can happen.

I see two things happing, more honest people forced to brake the law, and all kinds of tax money going to the black market.

You are correct in stating that many people are in the same boat. When the program started there was no legal supply.

What is your black market? Brick or grown by people you know? That is a decision you make. I will not buy blood weed anymore.

The nature of ptsd makes one need a steady supply more than others.That does not make you or I a criminal however alone. I too have visions of no more pharms but I am skeptical and scared. I do believe w/ a sure supply of green that I will be okay but that is not reality right now.

It sucks and I don't like it but it is what it is. If I can do it,you can.

I would disagree with the notion that the state is creating law breakers. While sure, the government is slow in getting things going, several more producers will solve the supply problem. I like this program better because it doesn't it turn it into a grey market of producers competing with one another.

I saw a news piece from several months back from before the time I moved here, about some dude who accidently got a non-profit producers license (he had applied for both) and started to grow weed in his back yard. It was exposed to pests, mold, his dog ran around the property and basically he grew crap, all the while pushing himself as a medicinal producer. This obviously cannot happen or the program will really stained.

Furthermore, with the ability to empower yourself and grow you will see people who are physcially able, leaning towards that and taking control of their supply directly, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Until the Feds act, it will always be illegal and have a black market. I have lived in the abq area for a very short time, but I know where to get some killer meds from several sources now. Plus, I have a wonderful garden going.

I live in Santa Teresa, basically a suburb of west El Paso. The cartels have completely destroyed Juarez. There is no brick to be found. The Azteca gang that ran the drug market is decimated.

The people of El Paso, have always had a strong connection with Los Angles. Many hispanic families are spread between the two cities. Now that the Axteca's are out of the pictures, the LA/EP family ties has allowed local folks to bring mass amounts of Cali chronic into the region. The city is flooded with it.

My problem comes from not being able to get any reliable connection with the NM producers. I can make a phone call and have bud that is equal in price, after tax and shipping. It is also much stronger than any of the bud I have gotten from any of the producers. I have only been able to get two orders filled by NewMexican. Also living this far south means that I have to not only pay the $20 shipping fee, but I have to do a 70 mile round trip to Las Cruces and back to pick it up.

So you see my dilemma. I can get better bud with no hassle at all, if I buy off the street, well not the street my guy brings it to my home. If I try to stay within the rules of the program I smoke nothing.

I'm not just addressing this problem as my own, but wonder how things are going to work when we still have five producers and 3 to 4 thousand card holders.

What will the state do if people that have never smoked bud or had any dealing with the black market start to get arrested for just trying to maintain their meds.

Now it is easy to say just don't smoke any unless you get it legal, but that would mean I really can't start any kind of reduction of my antideprents. So you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I have grown mj many times, but I now live in an apartment. Until I move into a house, not much longer, I can't grow.

I have the same fear i have been getting mine from a friend for a while now due to the lack of available product and or the lack of money to pay the outrageous prices....that is why i got my grow license atleast this way i know that i am getting good meds and nothing is going to be illegal about it, but until they are done i will still make the majority of my meds purchase from the same person. It is going to be tough until the state does something but hopefully by the time there are that many more paitents i will have my plants done or close to. All i can say is be strong and be safe we will all get all the relief we need at some point.

I saw Beto O'rourke on the news again tonight I wish more suits would admit that he has a good point and listen but the issue is not of importance. DC crooks have no idea about what is happening here. Sure when a consul gets killed the blow hard hillary makes a visit but that doesn't do a damn thing. PR is all it is. I find it kinda hard to believe that the majority of weed in EP is grade now.
It certainly never has been like that before.

Being a high school teach, I get a lot of feed back for all kinds of activities, raves, boy/girl problems, and the scoop on the drug market.

I don't buy from the students, of course they don't even know I'm on the program. But many students are intuitive and can tell I'm more versed on things than the average teacher. This gives me access to what the bud market is like, and very few are smoking brick.

It happened overnight. Less than a year ago, it was almost all brick. Then my guy tells me one day, all the has is chron $60 an eight. Since then all he has is chron.

You are right, El Paso was a brick town, but the again Juarez hasn't alway been the most dangerous city in the world. Things have changed.

Getting off the subject here but I guess it depends on which school you teach at. If you are @ coronado or franklin I could see how the kids have the $ to smoke grade. EPT is and always will be a brick town.Jtown is the most dangerous city in the western hemisphere because the routes are the most coveted.

With high school kids money may be an issue. Don't forget you should also add in schools like Hanks, Montwood, Chapin and Americas, they are in middle to upper middle class areas.

Sure EP will always be known for brick week, but now there are choices.

The guy I get from lives on the NE part of town. He deals with people all over the city.

I have relatives that live in far east EP. I use to teach and know people in the impoverished town of Canutillo, Tx.

I was born in EP, and have lived here on and off for over 20 years. I know people all over town.

My example of kids buying grade, was just that an example. It wasn't the extent of my knowledge of the situation.

You talk like I live in a box, and don't know anything outside of my classroom.

Almost everything you say makes sense,and I agree with you,except for your implication that cannabis is part of the "drug market". Cannabis is not now,nor ever will be, a "drug".This is something that was wrongly taught to us by parents,society, and/or teachers(professors) and reinforced by "marijuana prohibition". It is important to get away from this thinking if we are ever to move forward to the end of this needless "prohibition".

P.S. New Orleans is more dangerous than Juarez.

I'm not going to argue the pot market in a town that I have lived in or around for 26 years. I too have family on the eastside,went to montwood.

You may be smoking Bud that you think is from the oc but it is coming from Mexico just like it always has.
