Today I was hitting a bowl and all of a sudden I noticed the noice the lighter was making when I tilt it to burn the green. (this was after a couple of bowls)
So I started thinking what if Im getting all that gas in my lung too (cheap ass 1 dollar lighter)? I got pretty paranoid and wanted to throw up after that.
Anyone had the same experience? is it true that when you are hitting the bowl you are also getting the gas in your lung?
no your not, cuz the gas is burned up, thats what makes the flame. dont worry about it, its nothing that will kill you.
It is possible you could inhale some butane if its an inefficient lighter, but that really is nothing to worry about.
The only thing you have to worry about is if you started doing it intentionally to get high off, like sniffing the gas...Dont do that.
NB: Apparantly you can check if a light is leaking by looking at the shadow of the flame it produces, or by the whether the flame is produced cleanly.
thing is when you tilt it some of the gas does leak and you are sucking all that air around the bowl in your lung. im just too fuckin paranoid
Butane is relatively harmless if your not intentionally 'huffing' it. I don't know if you inhale any butane from your lighter but probably a little bit, eaither way its nothing serious.
That why smoke joints, also bowls/pipes get all clogged with ash. :rolleyes:

I did smoke out of a bong filled with water/ice, when i just started hitting the nothin smelled wrong but as i got more smacked i started to smell the gas and i could feel it in my lung, pretty nasty

Accidental huffing will only lead to a minuscule amount of butane actually being inhaled. If you do it purposely you will most likely inhale a higher volume of butane. This is why it's not an issue if you inhale it accidentally, the amount is so small that it will not have any detrimental effect. It's okay not because it's an accident, it's okay because by it being accidental the amount is lower.

Just chill dude, you were able to feel the butane in your lungs? Sure thing. You didn't notice it before you got smacked because it wasn't there... you started to smell and feel it because you were stoned and thinking about it. Like a placebo, if you think the sugar pill will heal you... sometimes it does.
