T5 grow NUGSNOBUGS (flowering week 3 start!)
so i just started flowering week 3 on monday. this is day 17 of flowering. any help is appreciated!
its in a walk in closet in my house... i just didnt want to draw a bunch of attention so i went with the 6 bulb 2 ft t 5. its currently covering two plants
in fox farm ocean forest soil, mixed with a tad more perlite and a couple scoops of some aeration formula from the store. it has helped a little with the soil breathing, but really cant tell a difference.
used fox farm grow big until last week (just to give a tad bit more N to last a little more, i still want the green clorophorm taste to leave the nugs though so i stopped last week) and now its receiving healthy doses of big bloom and tiger bloom.
the first is my beauty! haha she grew literally twice as well as all of her sisters, and when she turned to be female, i knew it was love at first site! the other girl is just another healthy one. both were FIMed about a month ago, and the smaller one was supercropped.
any advice, tips, and watching is greatly encouraged!

with big bloom, no more grow big, and will do tiger bloom on next feeding.
these things are some STRETCHERS! i wake up in the morning and i need to move like light about 2-4 inches, and next day they are RIGHT THERE AGAIN. hopefully they've stopped a little, my tent is 60" high and im almost running out of room with the inline fan and light....

so some serious nug growth this last week. they have stopped stretching (thank the fuck christ) and are now standing a little under 40" total from stalk to top (not counting pot) and are getting bud sites everywhere. watered yesterday with fox farm organic nutes. shes likin water more and more right now it seems, shits dry in about 3 days.
i originally was told this would take 8-9 weeks, but with how its looking... man i dont know... i'll let them go as long as they need, but i DO want to eventually use the medicine hahaha.
anyways... someone watch?? i know im not growing 30 plants or some crazy scrog.. im not doing anything crazy to them, but damn this shit looks good, and im very proud of myself.

I know! being my first time, i dont know if it just super stretched cause of the light, or if its the strain or what, haha but the next go arounds are definitely going to be a some bushier girls. def going to use bushmaster first or second week of flowering.
or maybe its just some gnar sativa, but serious, about 3 inches a day that thing grew, i started flowering when it was 11", stands at exactly 39 at the highest spot.....

Nice first grow keenan. I also grow with cfls and they kinda suck unless you have side lighting, lights around the sides of the plant for those lower bud sites. I also had this problem on my first grow, they stretched out loads and i only got big buds on top and all the other buds were tiny ! For your next grow i would suggest a technique called LST which is low stress training. This basically involves training your plant to be a bush by using string to pull branches sideways. Quite difficult to explain but i have done it on my current grow if you want to take a look.
Also what type of light have you got ? Its looks like the cool light which you use for vegging ? You need to use warm like which is 2700k for flowering or yours buds wont be very dense.
Still looking good though and you will learn a ton from your first grow !

It's a 6 lamp 2' t5 from htg supply. It's a grow bright and it has bloom bulbs in it so I believe the warmness should be right.
I know I know! Haha I had another 2 ft p-tel lamp that had 10000 lumens, also from htg, butwhen it went to turn on one morning it started smoking and caught on fire!!! Soooo lucky I smelt it. Htg is replacing it but it won't be back for another week or two. So I'm left with this one that's about 2000 lumens pet bulb- 12000 total.... It doesn't penetrate for shit, and I would love that side light for my future endevours, I had reconstructive knee surgery two years ago, they cut back most of my medial AND lateral meniscus (I was 20, I'm 22 now), they harvested part of my hamstring for my acl, use a cadaver for my mcl, and PCM is still healing, and thank got didn't need to get operated on.
So I lived in San Diego, had no health insurance. Moved back east now, and all the kids with medicinal quality are charging 20 a g, most of the time sucks, and are like gangster ass CRIMINALS. So thus is my only option

so this is my alternative, and a rather good one mind you, not only being self sufficient EVENTUALLY, but not taking like 15 pills and 3500 mg of acetaminophen all day long.
Unfortunately it is extremely hard to find quality seeds out here, and these just came from some amazing obvious HERMIE plant, because mine did in fact form some nanners in spots, but daily checking, and haven't seen any since then.
I just need like 3, haha juust 1 female mother is all I ask! I sense a vacation is in order!
Thanks charbud, I've seen your work and must say I am impressed, on of you threads was one that inspired me to go non hps since it's just for me, I smoke about an ounce a month, so eventually my mess should be easily under control. Gracias!

Its true, cfls dont penetrate for shit ! Im buying some side lighting next week in the form of Red leds. Its a cheap panel but it may promote growth lower down but ye ill let you know if it works and maybe you can try it out aswell !

I also grow to avoid shitty street weed aswell :) Here lots of it has glass grown into it or still has fertilisers left in it. Not nice at all ! Better to grow my own for my health !

Yes, unfortunately they are. I've been looking around to see if anyone would do it anyways, but all I keep hearing is like customs bullshit cause nobody in America ships seeds haha.
So hence the vacation haha. When I can afford it of course.
Let me know with those LEDs I've been looking into some myself, I'm trying to stay as low electricity as possible so it seems this is the way to go.

Wow those ladies really are stretching. I'm growing under a T5 also, but it's a 6 bulb 4 footer, so I have quite a bit more light. Definitely light that area up, otherwise the lower buds will never materialize. The plants look pretty healthy though. I'm using almost the exact same mix of soil and it works great.

So I got my other t/5 back from htg. It's about 10000 lumens, 55watt bulb x2.
Can I put this as side lighting on the current grow??
Would the switch in lumens stress it?? Would they even help at this point? I'm almost a full 6 weeks in on a 9 week strain.

i think im going to flush next week sometime. these may still have some time left, but with the stigmas starting to slowly die and it being about 50% cloudy, still no amber, i see her future is allllmost coming to an end. 3 weeks tops, but with 2 flushed, i think an extra week with just water should be fine.
i cut a little sample nug (some of the lower that seemed to just stop growing.
about 50% cloudy trichomes. i let it dry for about 3-4 days and smoked it. its sooooooo smooth. tastes great. i cant wait for the cure. this is seriously going to be some top notch meds. not the densest of the bunch, but i prefer it that way, i bowl pack isnt half a frickin g haha.

annnnd just ordered some KO kush seeds, so i plan on getting a 400 w, turning t5's into veg and getting a mother plant, here in the near future.

Wassup keenan, havent looked in on your thread for a while, sorry man.
Girls are looking nice ! 400 hps will def make you a lot more denser bud. I would go ahead and use the side lighting, the tops of your plants will prbably mature earlier because they get more light, so the side lightign might speed up the lower buds. You been giving them any nutes ? I got some canna pk13/14 today, hopefully going to get me some bigger buds :D

its cool. i started on this site cause this is where i started and primarily got a lot of my knowledge.
i posted this on another site, it ended up helping me out way more, you can actually talk to the breeders of who you actually get the beans from. its the greatest ever... so with me moving to that 400 and getting a little better each time, their help will definitely be a catalyst in my medicinal search.
