"The rules would even bar anyone who has failed to repay student loans from setting up shop."
"There's lots of concern because lots of people have made a decision to get into this business. It's been kind of the Wild West. Today is the day we begin to get control of the Wild West and it's not going to be your average mom and pop business. It is the controlling, growing and dispensing of a controlled substance which means it needs to be regulated and highly regulated," Romer said."
"Dispensaries would have to grow 70 percent of the marijuana they sell, a change aimed at making sure pot is being sold as medicine.
Romer also wants to bar anyone who has not lived in Colorado for at least two years from opening a dispensary, and wants to charge dispensaries between $10,000 and $35,000 to apply for a dispensary license, depending on their size."
after hearing this bs i don't see how anyone could say well this bill is good.he has been paid off it looks like he says he wants to get things back to what voters voted and passed "as if it's not already".so i guess by knocking out the small guys this will somehow help everyone? what bullshit.ROMER IS A SELL OUT PIG THAT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HOLD ANY OFFICE.

I am curious to hear what the general 'climate' was during the hearing today. Some of Romer's addendae are ludicrous to say the least.

I've defended this bill in the past, and now I just keep my mouth shut. I'll just add that the Republicans have now introduced an alternative bill that bans all dispensaries and retail sales of medical marijuana.

I spent hours listening to testimony and then listing to amendments made and passed at the end and IMO it was very obvious this bill is sponsored by big out of state dispensaries who will be fathered in under the 2 year residency law, it does not matter that the people spoke and 99% asked for the bill to be killed, come to think of it Josh Stanley from peace in medicine and 2 others were in favor the rest want it killed.
IMO the 2 year wait is there to stop any more Cali money from coming in and setting up and ruining the unofficial partnership between Romer and the farmacy, patients choice and a few others, the bottom line is they saw the money train leaving cali and headed to co, so as usual Californians have fucked over Colorado yet again.
The only resolve now will be the hopes that Rob Corry will move forward with all law suites possible, this bill will be signed by the gov very soon and like Romer said, 80% of all disp. will be gone, no more independant growers, and yes all will be controlled by the dept. of revenue and thier gun toting puppets.
On a another note; has anyone found out which 2 breeders up North have sold their seed line to U.S. owned pharmaceutical company?

so would that mean you can't even grow for yourself anymore or for just your patients either?:wtf:
this looks like to me then it will pretty much be illegal for the most part unless you sign your life away to 1 of these big shops?

retail sales? then i take that to mean caregivers can still have patients and deal on a 1 on 1 lvl? if so i'd be more for that then this bs that cuts people out altogether.

I swore there was something in this bill which was set out to kill delivery services, which is pretty much what one on one caregiving is.

I can't believe you guys are surprised at Romer after his "auditors with guns" speech - or didn't any one else hear him say "I promised I'd lead you to daylight" toward the end? That was the big dispensary trade group he was speaking to. I think it's pretty clear who he works for; anyone checked his campaign donation lists yet?
One thing for sure, this bill is for big money with meaty bones thrown in for the lawnorder bureaucrats - there is nothing here that makes sense to me as a patient, all I can see are government attempts to limit my choices.

yea i knew he was a snake and have been preaching it as so.but you have moles like high that seems like he's on the payrole as well.i don't see how he could be otherwise?how could this be good for 99% of the people/patients?and the fact that he sees this as a good thing is mind boggling to say the least.
so if i get this right caregivers will be completely illegal unless you are the big money guys that romer has set up to take over? high, how is this a good thing for anyone?lets see only the big shops make it so now everyone has to flock to them all over colorado? what about all those people that live so far up in the mountains that depend on small local growers to tend to their needs? besides all of that what about all the small people that put their life on the line in way of taking their savings to start being a caregiver? you know all these people will be marked as evil no good drug dealers again what about them?
so romer and the big money shops are good people but the small guy is an evil drug dealer really?i can't believe people are really for all of this?i guess they like cutting their own throats.....

Well fuck...let's just do that too. That way we can get rid of the big dispensaries who are fucking over the little guy and just go back to the good old days when we bartered marijuana for little pieces of green paper.

At least the 5 patient limit won't stand up in court. Corry has proved that twice now? The real question is when will this shit be enforced? And how the hell are the politicians getting away with this?

yea i'd like to know more about last nite but all i could find so far was that 9news.but from the sound of it romer was trying to make it to where no one could be a caregiver. except the big shops with plenty of money to pay all the bs fees? if what was said above is true about banning the deliveries then i could see that as an attack on the small guys?
now if this is not true and all this is about the shops only then i ask wtf have the shops been doing.everytime i talk to a shop owner they say they stay on top of this shit then they don't do shit?:wtf:

My attorney and a few of my patients attended this a couple of weeks ago:
Cannabis Convention Draws Crowds In Denver - cbs4denver.com
My attorney called me up and opined that the whole thing was pretty much sponsored by Cali interests.

An injunction looks to be the only hope at this point.

One of those big seed companies that I never buy seeds from because it would be illegal to acquire my seeds from a foriegn country sent me an e-mail the other day saying that they had decided not to go through with the big pharma offer. I followed up with them and didn't support their decision by not ordering some really high end genetics.

just found out some key things here and pretty much were all fucked.1st off they are trying to get this passed in the next week or so and it will then go in effect by july of this year.also all of our records that are supposed to be sealed by the state will be fair game to all leo.they also want upwards of 35 to 50k upfront for any shop to stay in biz no payments no nothing all monies in full or you close down.they are trying to bring the 5 patient rule back into play and even then after this passes if you do still want to be a caregiver on a small scale you have to give all your hard work and time away for free you can't charge anything for it. talk about romer being a total sell out.so as old elmer says thats all folks.wtf this is going to sink aton of people aton.
ps so much for good things to come.

It was never ruled unconstitutional. CDPHE tried implementing a 5 patient limit and it was challenged in court. The judge ruled that CDPHE didnt follow proper procedure when they added the rule by not holding a public hearing first. CDPHE then held a very long hearing and afterwards voted to not implement the plan. I do think it would be ruled unconstitutional if it ever got to that point but it hasnt yet.

and it never will like i have said many many times b4.they want both sides of the pie here.they want it legal to a gov controlled degree so they can rape money that way from the people then they also want it illegal so the leo's can rape you on their end as well. they are pretty much saying the small guy is the evil drug dealer but as long as you have tons of money you can throw their way then mmj is safe.lmao it just sickens me to think of all those small guys that just sunk their life savings into opening up shop and now will lose everything they have and prob even thier house.
also on another note don't anyone kidd their selfs leo is chomping at the bit laying in wait for this to pass.just watch all the raids that go on in the near future and then a full out blitz when it passes.

I believe their are several areas that are unconstitutional. So I believe there is a very good chance this will go to the courts and will be overturned. Another strategy is for everyone to lobby Gov. Bill Ritter to veto this bill if it passes. He is not running for re-election so he really has nothing to win or loose politically. And if we all get screwed? We need to boycott the New Mega Dispensary Model they are setting up. Have mass public disobedience, and put Complete & Total Legalization on the Ballot.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

You're definitely right, it always comes down to money. IMO though I dont think this will pass in its current form, there are just to many things that would not stand a legal test. Barring felons is blatently unconstitutional and forcing dispensaries to provide their own product violates Federal anti-trust laws but who the hell knows. Kudos to Rob Corry and Lauren Davis for not selling out and standing by the patient/caregiver, if not for these two we would not be where we are today.

Well what the hell do I know. The Senate Committee last night approved it with a 6-0 vote and now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee and then will be voted on by the full Senate.

how is Clair Levy holding up on this? the bill hasn't passed yet, I guess the feeling is it will?
Ritter is anti-pot (an ex prosecutor). so you can forget about a veto. He's 100% behind 109.

As I predicted many moons ago the ganja business will be ruled by the big boys and all the little growers will be unable to compete.
So much for the pipedream of power to the people.
-
just in from 9 news an hour ago.
Oh well...
Those guys in the mountains have been growing pot since before any of this... they aren't going anywhere.
If this passes I won't be renewing my card... I'll be growing my own and I'll be putting my old drug dealer's number back on speed dial for those times when my herb isn't ready.
I'd suggest you all do the same! Boycott this shit... don't ever step foot in the mega dispensaries! Show them they can't just make the decisions for us while ignoring our input!
If there was ever a time to Overgrow, now is it! They apparently didn't have the nutsacks to strip patient's rights to grow... so take advantage of that fact saving yourself some money in the process...

yup well the power has just changed hands thats all.the leo's knows whats going on look at how they are against this bill.they want all of the power they had back and they know their power is slipping away to the gov and the big boys.now it will be harder to get part of that cash cow back.

I get out of it that you can grow and/or be caregiver for 5 patients and less and you do not have to register, you may only charge your patients the cost of cultivation, but, in order to sell excess to dispensaries you need a growers liscense and that will cost you.

i see and how do they propose they regulate your "cost" as a caregiver? the ones that grow and i mean real growers not the little 600watt in your closet setup knows how much it cost to really grow good meds.and news flash it is'nt cheap. also you would have to calculate the growers exp and time into the cost.so how is this supposed to help anyone again?
also that still cuts out the small guys and the shops does anyone realize how many people this is going to sink? with the jobless rate at such a high along with high prices across the board on everything and the state and romer wants to do this now? WTF WOW

I do not know how they will figure the cultivation cost or even enforce it unless a patient complains, I know my 10-1k's cost me more in elec, than my patients can afford, and that is just elec, nonthing else, I relied on a few choice shops purchasing my extra to pay the bills, but If I must move my product now I will be giving it the patients for 200 a zip and not some mega disp.

yup same here i'll keep my 225 a zip here as thats what i started out at but my price will depend on what this bill does here if it makes things alot harder or cost more or whatever my price has to reflect that.but yes as cheap as i can keep it thats what i'll do. i would sell to the shops at 275 to help offset the costs.looks like that will be over in a year as u said atleast i hope we have a year atleast.but besides all of that even if i still do ok does'nt mean i forgot the others that have put so much into all of this.im small time 4 patients but even so i still can see the harm this bill will cause across the board.
