My beasties are giving me a problem...help pls

I am new to growing, but have researched pretty well. I've got white widows that are doing great.. however I have 1 plant that is about 35 days old.. not sure if its a purple kush or sour deisel.. the problem is this kush/sour plant.

Im indoor growing in soil with 24 hour lights (using flourescents) and the plants are kicking ass but this kush/sour seems to be flowering. Ive not changed the lights at all.. 24/7 lights.

Could any of you pro's have a look at this and tell me if its flowering? I am gonna switch to 1k watt HPS for flowering so I need to know.

Yep, it,s flowering. Very odd. If it was mine I would take a couple of clones before you change your light schedule.

Is that stuff to look for when cloning / wanting seeds from a plant?

Like a plant that grows huge buds or something you'd keep the seeds since that's a good characteristics or clone it

Exactly. And a plant that flowers under 24/7 light is at least an oddity. It could be grown in the northern areas. Who knows? If you lose that strain you may be pissing away something special.

In Hawaii we breed our oun strains. As a rule we are cheap f$#ks with some of the best outdoor, year round growing conditions in the U.S. Every once in a while someone will pay money, or friends will bring us new blood. If we are impressed we breed it into another impressive local strain. Always keep experimenting. Keep the best, get rid of the rest.

There is nothing like saying "I made this" as your stoned out friends ask "Where did you get this from?" then start bumming seeds off of you. Also you get to smoke all different tastes and highs. Then you get pick what you want to keep.

Any time I see Maui whatever advertised in the dispensaries on this board, who knows where that seed and strain started. If once grown here, that strain could have come from or through my hands. Who knows?

So this early flowering is a good thing and I should clone it? Ive never cloned but Ive read alot. You think I should just chop the top off of it for clones and then leave it in veg until my widow is ready to flower?
By the way, thanks for everyone replying and helping. I really appreciate it.

Don't just whack the top off. Use bottom branches. Then let the plant flower. When it is ready to smoke, that is when you will know if you have something. If it is real tasty and goes off under 24/7 light it would be a great strain for people that want to grow outdoors up in Northern areas with a real short growing season.

Or maybe the early flowering trait could be breed into another tastier strain. Best of both worlds.

Also to be honest, it could be junk. In that case all you have lost is two junk clones. At this point you have nothing else to lose (except a few bottom branches that won't yield much anyway).

Oh to live in Hawaii. When I die I want to be reincarnated somewhere in the Hawaiian Islands...

Oldhaole since you clearly have the goods on cloning can you answer a questions for me (not to hijack anyone thread here but it seems we are all interested). I've read different things about when to clone. From what your write it seems cloning after a plant starts to flower is not advisable. But I'm recall reading that a plant can be cloned up to 35 days into flower (strain dependent). That would be just about right time wise - you finish your grow 40 days later and by that time your clones are ready to go into the flower room. Can you clarify for me? Thanks!

BB is most probably right. If you have an autoflower seed, or even the mother of that particalar seed got nailed by an autoflower male your plant could be autoflower. And the early flower then would be a natural thing. Sorry for the buzzkill. We have no use for autoflowers here. So I overlooked the obvious answer. My mistake. If it is an autoflower, cloning would get you a very small bud. Waste of time.

BB is also right about cloning a flowering plant. While it can be done it does take longer to go from flower back to veg. Sometimes up to a month longer.
The pic below are the bottoms of a fully flowered plants that I now am re-growing out from almost mature bottom bud. It has taken two weeks of 24 hr light to get it out of flower. Will take at least two more weeks (maybe three) to get it to the point where it becomes a mother to this some of this years clones.

Im fairly certain that its not an autoflower strain. I bought 2 purp kush clones and 1 sour diesel clone from a dispensary.. same place I bought my white widows. However my lovely new neighbors busted into my greenhouse before I moved the clones indoors and they stole all the baby clones except 1 widow and this one. So its either purp kush or sour diesel.. unless the dispensary lied. Im gonna post a full pic of the little flower girl now.. I think shes already bigger than the autoflower type.

Can you guys tell by looking if its purp? She has little reddish hairs popping out.

So it seems not to be an autoflower strain. At least according to the link. So that means it is either a Sour D. or Purple Kush. The purple I know is a lot more purple. Leaf veins are purple too, not just stems. I have seen Sour D with purple/red leaf stems. So I vote that your strangely early flowering plant is .....who am I kidding?...I have no idea.;)

Now its the time for the talk.

You have two fine plants. You are doing good. And I see a lot of bottom branches. It is time for you to take the next step. You could easily take ten clones (or the legal limit for your state) from those bottom branches. Read up on how to do it, be patient, and you will be rewarded. Unless you like spending money on clones that is. :D

Once you clone your first plants it is a game changer.

You have the ability to keep a special strain forever. It is the first step to the indoor growers final goal. A constant, inexpensive, high quality smoke that never runs out.

For starters I wanna tell you that you own :) Thanks so much for all the help, advice, time. One day when I get an award for cultivation the absolute best freaking herb ever in history.. Ill send ya some ;) haha
Second, I have tried to clone with my little bottom branches at least 8 times. I have all the stuff everyone says you need to start clones... except the heart. I just cannot make myself chop up my little beasties. Hopefully the next group I grow I will not be such a silly female about slicing my babies. lol
Someone told me tonight that my lights are placed wrong and that Im messing up. But everyone says outdoor plants are nice because they are full all the way thru due to the sun getting all over the plants... so thats how Ive placed my lights in my grow room and the beastie girls are damn sure full. So hopefully that person was just mistaken.

Ok oldhaole.. Im going in for the kill tonight. Im gonna cut 5 good sized clones (not just leaves like Ive been doing lol) ... and hopefully Ill have 5 newborns in a week or so from it. ;)

First clone I did took almost three weeks to root. My room was too cold. Of the five I started three made it. Keep a spray bottle of water handy. Mist them often.
